Yeah, here's a 2004 version. Not as good as the original, the strings are too tight, the fingers too bony, the heart too up tight. Oh video not avail .... isn't it easier for the corporations just to make it available then to organise these kind of error messages .... what is their pleasure ? The pleasure of getting in people's way.
  3. If a guy dies young or gets injured of course it is very meaningful and one should consider what it is inside this person that has lead to that result. They might have deep knowledge though, if you really seek knowledge you will take it from anyone at all, anyone. But that doesn't mean you should justify or explain-away the fact that this teacher doesn't look after himself or gets into horrible accidents. Clearly there is something he needs to learn and maybe his whole attitude is bad. Many fake teachers going nowhere look great. Many teachers with power, look like shit but have a glint in the eye. There are teachers who have reached peace and sit calmly, but there are few students.
  4. Mair 18:4

No human ever wielded the power of the source and so wasn't the source and wasn't non-dual. But they had arrived at a place without struggle with the source. The world and what we are .... we make many assumptions about what we are or the world is and its duality ... but in fact we live in assumptions and don't really know the world or ourselves ... few bother to sit down and try to find out. Few realise they don't know themselves. They assume they know themselves. Humans don't solve their problems because they don't try because they don't really think they have any problems. They are content with whatever it is that is happening even if underneath it all, they are suffering.
  5. The Microcosmic Orbit

Hi. Yes all those practices are standing moving qigongs. For instance 5 animals : wood element : you scoop up the universal wood element from nature and bring it into your personal wood element and the body moves in an upward spiralling branches movement, trying to feel the energy, some visualisatino of colour and healing sounds are used at the beginning to lead you to feel the universal force. Heaven and Earth is a vertical movement which uses expansion contraction of the body with no visualisation at all. Once a week I do pilates / abs / arms / legs functional explosive movements and try to keep myself in ok shape. But yes I have a desk job, nevertheless I do qigong twice a day. Also cycle everywhere no car.
  6. The Microcosmic Orbit

Well ... my main path is meditation so Qigong is auxiliary for me personally. The way I was taught the "MCO" is that the purpose of this river is to fill the other channels, as well as providing a basic route home for energy so that anything that is cultivated can drain out, and also something about syncrhonising with the rotation of the solar system every 72,000 years. I do Winn's 5 Animals + MCO + Macro-cosmic one after the other in the morning. In the afternoon I do BKF's Heaven and Earth and Gods Playing the Clouds. Okay, so I am not doing MCO in order to make a deep groove in one channel, and I added in the macro cosmic in order to ensure that I am not missing out bits. Doesn't every practice cultivate energy in a particular way, it's a choice ... so you could say every practice is specializing your energy and not allowing it to flow smoothly. In Taoist terms my meditation teacher teaches that to reach the goal of the Taoist path you need to merge with absolute source of energy by descending from your dantien; and that many qigong practices aim at creating a brand new body of energy at the dantien there filled with cosmic energy, rather than accepting entering surrender to what is already there. So following qigong paths is something different to taoism. Also the Indian mystics, many of them simply sat and reached fulfilment. UG Krishnamurti reached the goal of Taoism as well although is Indian.. Winn said that he was not satisfied with the Indian approach because he did not feel the awakening was stable without an energy body .... but I know that this is not necessarily the case. Winn is exploratory which is great quality. I have not gone very far into the Mantak Chia / Michael Winn path because it is too concerned with swirly purple energy from the big dipper etc... and the course of my life is more about conscience / peace / understanding. Chia often talks about how "clever" he is. Winn has a courageous spirit and is experimental like me. BKF comes from the family of Christian church leaders and is in that mould, anyway he is a little unimaginative for me, but he is right that water need priority over fire and I appreciate his respect for tradition. Anyway, those are my 7 cents. I would be interested to hear you talk about how moving qigong practices work : I suppose they are far more subtle then breathing green chi up the liver channel for instance.
  7. The Microcosmic Orbit

I have read some of your length posts on this subject so I understand a bit better what you mean. If somebody does moving chi kung or tai chi ... how is that different to MCO, how does that cultivate you in a way that is natural ?
  8. As you look outwards to the world from the front of the head, the energy of the source is flowing through you and into the world of objects. Where is the source ? It is at the back of the head. If you flow back, surrender backwards, you can awaken and stabilise the impersonal consciousness, this feels like an expansion of presence that is like a vast open sky. Hence the halo is painted on religious paintings behind the back of the head, in most traditions. Initially it feels like a large impersonal space (nobody), but later if one is sensitive there is once again the feeling of an identity that you can act from, and the phoenix rises. This new identity is partly personal. Meaning that you have become the awakened human being. Of course the ultimate boss is still the source, but he wants you to be a human being. It is also possible to make the "light flow backwards" and BE at the mid-eyebrow-point. Which awakens and stabilises your personal identity. And it can also be done at the heart and dantien etc..., principles are the same. The creatures on this planet are powered by the source that flows into them, into their centres. When the body dies it's all over. Unless that creature gets the sense to "turn the light around", takes an interest in the source, yearns for the truth or god, and performs this awakening, then they have an identity not dependent on the body. Turning the light around, is not the only thing required, one has to recognize the new identity formed by "reversing the flow", and abide in it. "Abide in I Am". And surrender to this new identity until nothing is outside of it. In practice the attempt to recognize your presence in the aforementioned location, is the thing that causes the light to turn around, it's not primarily an energy practice. If one has difficulty recognizing then one can benefit from the company of people who can. That's my understanding.
  9. The Microcosmic Orbit

I do want to know because it seems important. You seem to be saying that doing things with the mind is masturbation but .... if you work with your body it is the right thing ? As I described my MCO practice is that with my mind, feels more physical / body / breath. Maybe you could say a few words ?
  10. The Microcosmic Orbit

So is that the same for Meridien work ? What is the difference if you do qigong in general, or if you do an MCO practice ? What is the problem with it ? What is the difference between practices you consider good, and an MCO practice of the mind ?
  11. Potent Systems

A sensitive teacher connects you with the seed of your existence (identity) so that your cultivation is of that seed itself. So that you are working on your real self. Rather than of "energy". Self contact and energy must go together otherwise that energy is just peripheral and meaningless for your growth. Can powerful energy awaken you ? ... difficult to see how unless you want to awaken. Awakening is not mainly energetic, it is self-contact self-identification self-understanding. Feeling the subject inside, and recognizing the subject as ... me. It is self-contact and self-remembering that survives death. Without that ... who is it that would even survive death ? Who owns the energy ?
  12. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

He was a brave man, he went in to an impossible situation right at the start when little was known, he also seemed to be very fit doing triathlons. But cave diving is very dangerous, hard to imagine something more dangerous really, there is no light, no radio, no ground, no air ... you just have yourself and what you brought with you. It takes a different approach then many challenges we face, the British divers said you basically want zero adrenalin - that's an unusual situation. There are many territories on this planet, and a many things to learn. Saman will go around again, may his journey be filled with light.

  14. Regret, guilt and shame

I have worked with these for many years. The technique you describe is similar to "Feeding Your Demons" where you feel what is lacking (love, stability, innocence) and you bring that energy into you to heal the rift. Another important technique is simply to let it come and turn towards it, allow regret to flow inside you, let it be you, let it happen, let it all happen, do not hide from the rain of the feelings. And that's all good. Recently I started learning about A Course In Miracles and it has given me a very different vision of society (shame comes from interaction with others so it is hard to fix on your own) .... and it is only through this new vision and understanding, that I believe I will be free of shame. Because our society exists with a certain underlying vision of life that is not fixable. But through ACIM, I have discovered a totally different vision, which brings shame to an end. Shame is actually part of the underlying vision of society as it exists today.

Mantak Chia .... he tries to regurgitate every single bit of info he ever learnt into his books ... so they become encyclopedias rather than practice manuals, and some of his senior students advised him against doing that. Michael Winn has a simple and good MCO practice, and then there are additional bits you can add on as you progress. I just did one on the seafront, about 15 minutes long. Standing in wuji, then your hands make circles at your sides (like being a choo choo) rotating your dantien, through the lower part of the orbit, perineum, ming men, navel and circulate. Breathe in as you rise up the spine and out down the front. Slight pressure on the front of the foot (K1) as you rise, and slight pressure on the heels as you fall. That's it. Try to feel it kinestetically inside the body as it flows. 27 of these, then extend it upwards so that the heart is included, 18 of these, then 27 going all the way up to the ba hui. (72 in total). Then 9 more to finish off shrinking the orbit down progressively until it is just dantien. Softening and letting go, grounded into the earth from the waist to the legs, feeling all the rivers and channels opening.
  16. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

As the ground deepens, the branches grow out further, summer can last longer, and the cycle of the elements becomes fuller. If inner stability and self-remembering is stable then one can rest because one is safe; but there is also the possibility to continue and bridge the light to other beings either energetically, or through knowledge, or other ways ... be a secret yogi working in a pet shop. And one must not be complacent. There is as much work to do as one can hope for, and it is real work for a real purpose. It is a great joy to know one's purpose. I see no limits to the possibilities, but if one wants to be a Phoenix soaring one must love the light very much and pay the price of surrender and exploration. We are made as humans but what can we be if the light is within us, unrecognizeable I think. When a seed is small great care and attention must be paid, and with the most astute of teachers ... it is a great fortune to have a grandmother who sits quietly with you and holds your presence. Later one can repay such love a hundred fold, or a thousand fold if you really understand what you received. We live in a world with a great many beings hanging on to a small amount of light inside them, hoping for someone to remember them. Meeting a light-holder one day can alter then entire course of your life and in your ordinary life you might meet many people. Personally I would like to sit in the house of my father quietly for 10,000 years, but I do wish to repay what was given to me, and although some good things have happened to me recently I must not be complacent.
  17. Money

A great change has come over me recently particularly with A Course in Miracles, that people are innocent, they are fragments of the light in a learning experience of society and although many are fully coated in sewage, they are like butterflies trying to chew through the chrysalis to free themselves. Any sense that they are not innocent comes from seeing the outside only and forgetting the light within our us and within the other. The change has produced a great overhaul in how I view society. Now I have the feeling of seeing clearly what people are doing that they are trying to free themselves, and in so doing then I know finally what my job is and why I am in society and what to do. The entanglements and darkness that people are entwined in is continuously reinforced by the feeling of guilt, of your own self or of others, then blame distrust and anger, until finally your whole approach to society is attack and it attacks you back and that is the state of consciousness that people live in and experience. To understand money, our real work and purpose and to engage with society in the real way ... was not possible for me until this change overcame me. Well it is not yet permanent but wow has it changed everything. Anyone interested in A Course in Miracles should get the 1972 version sold as "The Original Version" or "The Sparkly Version", as unfortunately some donkeys re-edited it in 1976 corrupting some of the material. And so it goes.
  18. Type 1 : Emptiness of Unconscious Beings Being part of the flux of the elements, there is not much there. (except a very small potential seed that few can see) Type 2 : Emptiness of Conscious Beings (empty of the ego) When Consciousness takes root it uproots the identification with ego, and one can reach a stage of silence, emptiness. Empty of what ? Empty of the noisy ego, a mercy indeed. However, it is not empty, it is filled with an individuated part of the whole. Dependent Origination This is a Buddhist analysis of the non-existence of a being. But which being ? The fool at the beginning of the path ? Or the buddha who has walked the long road and transformed himself ? Different beings, one who has taken a long and difficult journey. Buddhists do not specify which being they are analysing because they don't know the difference, after all their explanations still few reach. Purpose .... comes from understand that one is to take a journey and everything that is here and should be here. Individuation Some say they are everything; but strangely do not wield the force of "everything". They cannot fix or create anything, in fact their power is that of a monkey, even an energetically supercharged monkey. Therefore they are not "everything". They are individuated, and that is the point really, that is what existence is doing, and that is why we say "I", it is an individuated identity given to us. We have one life. If we wish for more, we much return home.
  19. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

It is a joy to open the throttle of human life, to life with a big heart ans shine, after many years of persistent practice ... when the ground is deep then the branches can grow out and flower, flow into the world. But ... I have been smashed by this world so many times that there will never be a day that I don't sit and practice, never will that happen, cleaning the temple is my first and last task of any day, but in between ... who knows.
  20. Every morning I am on the seafront at 5 - 6am doing Michael Winn's 5 Animals / Micro cosmic orbit / Macro cosmic orbit. Recently I made 2 major innovations to the practice, the first is transitions. I practice say 27 movements of Water, and then 9 movements of Water/Wood transition which is a movement I made combining the beginning of a Water movement with the end of a Wood movement. And so on. Water is facing North, Water/Wood is facing North-East. I use the same colour as Water (midnight blue) and the same sound Choo, as it is Water's transition. The particular movement for Water/Wood is like this : first half is the scooping water wheel, one hand resting on the kidneys, other hand scooping in front, but as that hand rises up I turn and continue with the Wood movement of deer looking towards his tail - these are traditional movements so maybe that means something to somebody ! This morning I could see how as the water rises and turns into waves, it is actually changing state from the mysterious circulation of winter, it is becoming more active and rising up into the crests of waves, (normally it falls back) ... but with this movement the crests of the waves continue rising into the branching pushing and entering of the Wood energy. It's very good correspondence. And likewise for all the elements and transitions. And this has been A1 for my practice and life because the transitions are often where the problems are, a difficulty turning Wood into Fire for instance, those are the blocks. It has turned the practice into an even pulsing wheel of life, it brings great joy now. I always practice the pure element (like Water) two or three times more than the transitions (like Water/Wood) to keep the element strong and pure. Second innovation is as you breathe out you can visualise dirty green smoke coming out (for Wood), but I also just open my mouth and let go of whatever comes ... the Shhh sound often turns into a sort of gutteral moaning / wailing / screaming. Makes a big noise, hence I practice on some scrubground in the early hours away from people. Over time I am catharting a lot of material from traumatic pain, and it gets smoother, initially I was hesitant and resistant to the noise but now I scream as a baby screams full blooded and with no shame, the pipes get clearer and clearer. I had been doing some bioenergetics and things like that, but now it's encorporated in the 5 Animals.
  21. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

There was a great deal of sweetness and wonder in those old movies like Wizard of Oz, and the old Pinocchio and Jungle Book, it was a good era, must truth particularly in Pinocchio I like, dreaming of being a real boy.
  22. What is in our power to do?

Isn't that what the politicians tell you as they steal all your money ? You can't, you are too weak, you don't exist, you don't matter, you aren't anyone. Believing such things is selling your soul. God made you a man, gave you arms and legs and intelligence .... do you use them ? Do you grow ? Do you grow into reality ? Or sit on the sofa masturbating your "concepts". Perhaps as you sit on your backside you tell yourself ... oh I am the supreme brahman source tao. Really ... well brahman made the entire universe ... can you ? Or can you do nothing ? Certainly if you do nothing you are nothing, and worse than that. Even a stupid pigeon gets off his backside and does his job What can you do ? You learn to do things. You learn to be competent. You learn to pray. You learn to give. You learn to be able. You learn to be real. Yes it all comes from within, but only if you put the hours in.
  23. Emptiness ordinarily means the realisation of pure consciousness at the back of the head, hence the halo is at the back. Pure consciousness is the impersonal realisation that can be awakened and made permanent. If you are absorbed in the state then you will not interact with the thinking process, and will have the feeling of stability and stillness that comes from the dimension of consciousness ... it is empty of the 10,000 things of this world, the mind and so on. As you deepen your relationship you comprehend that this is your identity, meaning I AM. As the state bears fruit a sense of identity arises once again from this state and you can act from the state, you are that state. If someone cannot identify his new identity then he remains in a kind of inbetween state which he may call emptiness, because he cannot identify his new identity. Once consciousness is present other states may be felt because the new stability allows for exploration of the inner world and so people may report many things that relate to other awakened states ... the heart for instance.

  25. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

Breakthroughs this week after years of gruelling work. Rounding the horn.
