  1. Alchemical Emblems

It's a shame this thread died out, it has immense value. I had a large book of European alchemical engravings once - but a witch stole it.
  2. Hi

I hope I don't dream of large insects again like last night!

  4. Hi

Well, it's 11pm, I'm off to bed soon. But what better way to wake than with coffee & Rumi? Please, be my guest.
  5. MLK 44

Thank you, I shall ruminate on this & get back to you.
  6. What are you listening to?

... and funk, 'specially when it's as downright funky as this...
  7. What are you listening to?

I'm a sucker for old school disco...
  8. MLK 44

OK fine, for sure, for sure.

*thinks* "don't get sucked in"... "don't get sucked in"... "we've been here before"... "don't get sucked in"... darn it, now why did I have to go & do a thing like that for? OK, I'll bite. Do you believe that carbon & silicon based lifeforms can have a telepathic/emotional link? Does your computer respond to your thoughts & emotions? Or is Google just really good at analytics? It took me a long while to decode 23. I still haven't done 42 yet.
  10. what exactly is "God"?

There are certain Western mystery school traditions that claim to worship the light reflected by planets, and that the planets are the Gods. Certainly the Greeks thought so too. Certain other branches of those same schools also claim that Man is God, or rather more specifically, that the *mind* of Man is God & that we made him in our image. I think that may be true, but I don't think it's the end of the search, merely the beginning. Unite the two hemispheres, then the real work begins, but watch out for delusions of grandeur, for that way madness lies! You could ask the Sabbateans or Frankists what they think, but you won't get a straight or dignified answer!
  11. Hi

Thank you, LimA. I love Rumi. Such wonderful thought food.

Errr... is this a good time to mention the number 23?
  13. Sex & Magick

Apech, thanks for the reply. Regarding your first paragraph, I agree & initially placed myself in the former. It is only since my studies have lengthened have I had any regard for the latter. In this day & age, I'm encouraged that the "no FAP" movement seems to be alive & well, and that younger generations are taking it quite seriously. It's quite refreshing to see an antidote to the glut of porn on the web. But isn't this the way of the world? It's no coincidence that the dock leaf flourishes where there are stinging nettles. Social control, yep.. "by hook or by crook", or "if not State then Church". Who was it that said "sex isn't about sex, sex is about power"?
  14. Hi

Many thanks to all. @Fa Xin yesterday I poured over The Gospel Of Thomas thread. I reached roughly halfway on my first visit. It's a subject of great fascination for me so many, many thanks for taking the time to put it in place on the forum, and to all those that contributed, it's a fascinating read. I've known & challenged a few orthodox Christians on the Nag Hammadi texts & I've not been surprised at their ostrich-like behaviour. Too much orthodoxy, too much rigid doctrine & one becomes merely another follower. I shall also take a look at the other link you posted. As a self-confessed anti-chronologist, I have all the time in the world! @Marblehead I converse daily with a few Atheist friends, we hold each others company dear, because we're aware that our beliefs need polarisation, and we keep each other grounded. Sometimes "preaching to the converted" isn't anywhere near as interesting as discovering new folds in the cloth of life. I think I'm going to enjoy it here
  15. Hi

Many thanks to all. A quick introduction is necessary, I feel... I'm not religious (in the orthodox sense), though I read religion... I'm not into occult practices, though I study the occult... I've been privy in life to having witnessed breathtaking events (I'm sure to elucidate in the future) that have utterly altered my perception of life as I understood it, which at the present time is so fluid that I can't pinpoint, or accurately summarise what life means to me. The best I can offer, in my 51 years on this planet, is that I'm an infinite energy being trapped in a 3D prison. What crime did I/we commit to be here? If not a crime, then personal choice? As a rule I don't join groups to study (this is actually the first forum I've ever joined - I warmed to the ebb & flow of discourse), I try to walk my own path, though I veer toward Gnostic Christianity & Buddhism as studies that feel compatible with me. I've recently found great value in the study of decoding The Bible, that magnificent tome truly has revelations regarding the inner workings of the body/universe connection. And I always find time for the wisdom of the Tao - it's just effortless to understand. I have to stress that I'm not a Christian (I've had trouble with anti-Christians in the past), nor do I solidly identify with one faith or ideology over another... I take what I find to be useful, from occult Christianity, mystic Judaism, Sufism, Freemasonry, Buddhism, the Tao. All have similar (if not the same) origins, just the details differ. There is much more to add, suffice to say that I've been questing all of my life.
