I experimented with this qigong that is mentioned for a month or so. Some interesting things happened. Compared to other spontaneous qigong I've tried, this one seems more flowing and circular, sort of felt like i was doing taiji. I practiced it in a small park with trees, and after a few weeks, there was spontaneous running and spinning around the trees with my eyes closed. In addition, I never hit the trees or fell over. However, everyone's movement is different depending on their body. I have also read the book written by the Professor mentioned in the article (only in chinese atm). The article basically sums up most of the teachings, the book tends to go more in detail of what may happen and what each of the movements that may perform mean and what it may indicate. THe key i found is to really let go, listen to and feel where your body wants to move. I found it also helps to do some rocking motions with deep breathing or swaying to help kick start it if you find it difficult. For those who practice KAP, it is basically like the water chakra hip rotations and wuji qigong Santi teaches.

Something interesting that got me interested in it was this blog, written by someone who seemed to never have practiced qigong before, but got quite into it when practicing it. She blogs about her experiences practicing it in Taiwan. Start from Day 1.

    Hope this helps :)

    link doesnt work...??

  2. Hi all, I want to start a new discussion bringing together knowledge about the styles of Qigong that practice it one way or another.

Adding to some well known articles here's a link to a Webpage dedicated to this topic in various styles (I know there are more...)

Here's the link to the google translation to english of the original german page (which is quite readable)

To make this happen, there does need to be some genuine enthusiasm from people based in the UK. For practical purposes I think we'd be looking to do this in the London area. This is the main transport hub for the UK and would be where Michael would fly into. His journey is going to be long enough as it is without him having to add extra connecting flights. Also, it provides rail and flight access for people in the UK and Europe.

So. What I would like is this.

Anyone seriously interested in attending such a workshop, please email me at:

Don't tie up this thread with replies to this please.

    email doesnt work.

anything going on stillnessmovementwise in the UK or Europe these times?

Hu was also one of Wang Juemin's teachers. Not only that, but Hu 'invented' Stillness Movement neigong. He wrote a book on it in the 1940's. Hu's daughters still teach it*, and videos of them demonstrating can be seen on 'You Tube'. Yes, spontaneous movement with all the trimmings. Performed standing, and yes, sitting on a chair.

That's the thing about making sure you drink deeply from the well of knowledge. A little does indeed seem to intoxicate some.

*For anyone interested, the only places that I know of that they have taught is parts of Europe and currently in Beijing. Given this, learning from Michael Lomax is an easier teacher to access.

what parts pof Europe? Germany maybe???

Did they practice in traffic

I have trouble believing this, I did a google and came up with nothing.

The only reference to banned qigong is falun gong.

There are many articles stating how soaring crane is used in hospitals in china.

If it was banned it would be written up somewhere

Sure the "death cases" are unbelieveable and probably untrue. Still the government sort of banned the (for them: too uncontrollabe) spontaneous part. You can read the details in a (German :-( ) doctoral dissertation: https://books.google.de/books/about/Stiller_Körper_lauter_Leib.html?id=d-i6nQEACAAJ&redir_esc=y

Click on your name in top right and choose Settings in drop down and then Signature on left.

not possible to click settings, maybe I am too new in the forum?

  7. Yes , it would have been more humble - but lacking a bit of the Irony I intended.

    "Heavenly Pattern..."  ?

We met in HK in 2012 or 2014. Thanks again  for showing me around in bookstores and lying to me about the rules of inviting for lunch (didn't get it then ;-) )

Hope to see you again sometime.
