Maybe not so much interfering as feeding? If there are such beings / events then it is reasonable to assume an energy source would be required. This may also explain the earlier mentioned cold spots if heat energy could be used.

A really good question and one that I have often pondered. From recent times the most interesting case which could be viewed as evidence concerned a haunted farm, I think it was in Wales, and was reported on a British TV documentary. There were a variety of scary and odd occurrences but what was different (as far as I know) was that vast amounts of electricity were somehow used. This caused very expensive bills. The power company investigated and concluded that the charges were justified but could offer no explanation for such an event. The farm, it was claimed was not capable of using that much energy. Flimsy as evidence, but interesting.

For a while I used to attend the meetings of a spiritualist group. Once, after the session was over, the usual conversations were taking place. My attention was caught by a woman approaching Sam, the group organizer. I gathered that earlier and somewhere else she had made contact with the spirit of a man who had died long ago in America (this was in London, England). For some reason she had been very disturbed by this and asked Sam for advice. Now Sam is very excitedly telling her not only what the spirit was telling her, I forget the details, but that, amazingly this character was in fact one of his (Sams) previous incarnations. Both seemed to think this was significant. How can a 'spirit' reincarnate yet also be available for seances? I would normally have dismissed this as rubbish, but I knew Sam and to a lesser extent the woman, to be highly intelligent and knowledgeable people. I therefore ask, is there any form of spiritual belief that could accommodate such a scenario?

Some years ago there were two suicides in my locality, which were made known to me. Both were horrific and public. From the information available it seems that neither were planned, but seemingly spontaneous events. This led to a deep dread in me that if they could feel that desire who is safe from it. I would like to know if any others here have knowledge or experience of the subject.

I was on a residential course once. One of the others was a very quiet man of about 70. One day the group was just sitting around and talking when the old man just fell to the ground and was sobbing uncontrollably. It took a while to get him calmed down so that he could talk to us. When he was a young man he had come home from work to find that his wife had killed herself, leaving him with two small daughters. He had never remarried. Around twenty years later his eldest daughter killed herself on the anniversary of her mothers death. Something in the conversation had reminded him of his wife. I will never forget that poor man and his life of suffering.

I was lucky enough to be there for four days a few years back. It is a truly beautiful spot with a definite 'spiritual feel' to it. I hope we meet there some day.

Good point but I would consider the possibility that such matters require energy. If so, mass appearances may be out of the question.

When I was a small child I had a serious post surgery infection. My family were told that all they could do was pray. My hospital bed was next to a window on the 4th floor. I remember vividly the sunlight growing incredibly bright and I could see the outline of a woman in a long dress, outside the window. She waved to me and I waved back. About ten years later I went to my cousins place where a visitor was arranging a séance. I was told of a spirit named Mary. She wanted me to know that she was always with me. I asked if she was a guardian angel, the reply was no, but will help with illness. A final comment from her was "you have seen me before". A few years after this, I went with a friend to a spiritualist group. Upon my arrival an old lady called over to the medium and said "can you see her" to which he answered no. She told me that there was the spirit of a young woman with long black hair standing next to me. I returned some weeks later and found that the group had a visitor, a medium from the U.S. As soon as I entered the room she pointed and said "hey that guy, he has a girl with him, can anybody else see her", and then she mentioned long black hair.
