  1. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

I sat back at a community gathering which was called for by some people who felt it was time for some community healing to take place. Buddhists, yoga practitioners, shamans, Tai Chi practitioners and of course myself and a couple of other friends went there to practice Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing Qigong! Sometime ago, I had read that one could feel the difference between how each of these practices had a different "energy" to them. It was great to meet all of these people who came together for a community healing. I chatted with a few of them to learn a little bit more about their practices. Noteworthy was that the tai chi practitioners and all learn from Sifu Terry Dunn's DVD. The energy of that was "familiar" yet different from FPHHCK. Liu He Ba Fa was at this as well. I did enjoy the feeling of the energy present as this form was being practiced. There were a few other forms of qigong though none really stuck out to me. What I did enjoy was how the place seemed so overflowing with good energy which rippled out through our community, I guess you could say. It's been a few days and the tribal community house where this took place is still having a very good vibe to it. When I was asked if I was going to try any other forms that were there, my thought has been that I will stay with FPHHCK for maybe another couple hundred days just so that I can feel a little bit more "grounded/rooted" given that I am so new to the practice. Ginger! I'm going to keep that in mind and try that out this week as I practice.

Greetings Sifu Terry Dunn and all. It has been sometime since I had been here. I have not forgotten the group. My practice has been continuing though at the Standing Rock area in North Dakota. The fight against an oil company poisoning the water and desecrating the land continues. While at Standing Rock, I started in on the fourth volume of the DVDs. I found a peaceful spot along the river where I had practice during the morning and early evening. This became a spot where not only did I continue with my practice but a couple of "shamans" came and practiced their forms of healing as well. A curious thing happened when I had done the longform meditation a couple times in a row back to back. After I had stopped, I noted a rather new sensation running through my body. It didn't startle me. It felt quite pleasant. I felt like I was vibrating on the inside and so I went to lie down on a rock nearby and before I knew it my body was trembling all over from head to toe, not quite like an epileptic seizure. The shamans who were practicing their arts took notice of this. They told people to stand back. I just let the "shaking" continue. I don't know what it means. Has anyone had this experience before after practicing? Does this "shaking" signify something?

Sifu Terry, At that point, I do believe it was a combination of the Crystal Cave and the FP meditations. The energy just felt "dirty", maybe fallen. I don't know really but I know he was going to the Crystal Cave to try to heal as well from something. Everybody goes there to try to heal. It is where A shaman back in legend lived. I did note the effect on the local environment where I practice. The crystal cave, the people of my tribe said seems to be "charged" now. Those who have gone in after us, felt and peacefulness almost immediately. A couple I've noted, came back without any symptoms of PTSD. Another example of the local environment being affected by the FPHHCK practice is my home. I bought this house knowing that four people were murdered in it and one person who barely survived. People left this house for years. Nobody bought it nobody lived in it. I bought it really cheap. Having lived in this house for three years now, once I began my practice of FPHHCK daily, The place just seems more positive. Even my neighbors noted that the place just seems alive again and peaceful. I've chosen to do the FPHHCK meditations in a different room each day. I don't have many material possessions, so it's kind of cool having a big house where I can practice in every room. :-) Raven's Fire

Sifu Terry, My hair is about 2.5 inches to 3 inches long and it was standing up, as were the hair on my arms. My friend's hair wasn't standing up though. When I came out of the crystal cave, my hair was still standing up. A man who greeted me, shook my hand. My hair went down right then and there. My hands were feeling kind of funny after that. I picked up a nice stone and pictured whatever this strange feeling in my hands were, letting it flow into that rock. My hands have the goods and Tatian's after I did that. I don't know why I was compelled to pick up that rock but I did.

Thank you Tao Stillness, I would not be able to do so much, had it not been for my friend who helps me out. I actually see that he has been doing this a little longer than me so that helps too. If I can't make something out on the DVD, my friend has been helping me with it. His name is Derek. I hired him to be helping me out around my house and my daily living. Derek said the same thing about The possibility of having multiple lifetimes, the experiences from them. The journey here and now, has been quite interesting. After practice, sometimes I just pause and feel the qi. I'm not really taking note of how the energy is flowing. I don't know how to express it except like maybe communing with it. Sometimes it flows to one part of my body a little more than others and yet other times the uniformity of the energy is felt all through my body. Regardless of trying to find the right words, I've enjoyed my practice of FPHHCK.

Sifu Terry Dunn, My friend and I were able to go to the crystal cave and practice the meditations. It is nicely set up, with a door built over the opening now. The inside of the cave is quite level and it takes very little to get the cave to warm up. A storm came in which left us there for a week. Originally we were only supposed to be there two days. We passed the days inn meditations. It was a great experience, passing the time like that. My hair was standing on end. Is that normal? :-) ======================================================================= I thought earlier on about your note/remark about me feeling some benefits so early on. I've always been able to "sense" the energy of people, given that I'm legally blind and have only about 10% vision. I knew it was there but just never really knew what to make of it. In general, I do have to depend upon my other senses, given the limited amount of sight which I have. I started feeling the warmth and tingling early on with my practice of FPHHCK shortly after practicing along with the DVDs and practicing with my friend who helps me with form. After starting the seated meditations of volume two, I know that the energy even more so. It may sound silly but I "welcomed the energy/sensation". I don't really have a good word or term and English except for having welcomed it. The moment I "welcomed it", I felt the energy sort of swell or intensify. A warrant went through my body. Each day of practice early on, the warmth and tingling sensations lasted longer and longer. The second week of practice, I woke up and thought somebody had turned up the heat. I was feeling incredibly warm. I asked my friend if he had turned up the heat. He said no. The heat has always been the same, which always was incredibly warm to everybody else except me. My one remaining great uncle, commented that he said my energy feels like that one of the healers/shamans. The healers/shamans of our tribe have since gone out of existence in this modern day and age. I do know that both grandparents on each side of my family or healers/shamans. My great uncle on my mothers side saw them in action. He commented that my energy felt much like theirs is quite telling to me. The hospital here which caters to native Alaskans, as a prayer/meditation room where many go to practice various forms of tai chi and qigong. I do believe I will be going there from time to time to practice as well. The journey to this point, I am feeling incredibly happy about my practice. Having a friend to practice with and help me correct my form helps very much. I love that I have started my new year with FPHHCK. Raven

Sifu Terry, I have a quick question but I also ask the input of anyone else on this. I have the opportunity to go to the quartz crystal cave which is upon my family's ancestral land. Would it be advisable to practice FPHHCK while in the cave, especially considering that my practice is so early on? Any thoughts and considerations are welcomed. Thank you in advance. Raven

Hello soaring crane! Actually love that show. I met many of the cast members who came to our town to meet and greet the locals. Thank you and I am excited to be here. Raven's Fire

Sifu Trry Dunn, I am now week two of my practice in Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing, and I am quite happy as I start this journey. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis some years ago. A family member decided to ask me to go see an acupuncturist. After a few visits/treatments using acupuncture, the acupuncturist recommended that I practice qigong. Your DVD series where the first which came up in the search. The DVDs came in a timely fashion. I've also got a degenerative eye disease known as retinitis pigmentosa, so a friend of mine has help me to find tune what are on the DVDs for my practice. This is my second week of practice, and I can feel the sensations between my fingers when I hold my hands parallel to each other. My pain levels which are usually a four or five, have gone down to a one or two. (10 being the most absolute pain and zero being no pain) just in the short time, I am going out for more walks. The universe is much more incredible than we sometimes allow it to be. I have to remember that I am a part of that universe, and my practice in this system of Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing Qigong is helping to see that. (Yes, the legally blind man said "to see that "... LOL) On one of my walks, I passed the acupuncturist with whom I have had treatments. She said, "I see that you are practicing a healing form of qigong! That is good! If you keep this up, you may have to only see me once a year, if that!" She gave me a big hug before we went our separate ways on our walks. :-) My friend who's been helping me, has been also going back and reading aloud the thread here. Many questions which I have are getting answered. There's so many other things I want to say but I can't find the words yet. :-) I am a Native American of the Tlingit nation. My nickname on here, is my actual given name in English translation. Our tribe, is located in the southeastern islands of Alaska. Oh, and my regular English name is David Kanosh, but most times I go by Raven Fire. Right now, we're going to go back and read over the posts on this thread to catch up. Thank you Sifu Terry Dunn. 11. Alaskan practitioner.

Hello from Alaska. I have the original VHS tape's of flying phoenix heavenly healing and have been doing this for quite some time. I just ordered the DVDs. I am a Tlingit native in southeastern Alaska. There are various forms of qigong which are taught here Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing has been the one I am familiar with most. I originally bought the VHS tapes and years ago after I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. When I first started, I actually found myself having so much energy that I found it rather difficult to go to sleep. Daily practice has made it so that my pain levels are next to zero. :-)
