I think we understand things a bit differently or may be describing something similar but differently. Let me use a video game example: God of War (2018). In that game, the different areas you visited in the game's hub were all in the same physical space, but on a different dimension. Every time you wanted to travel to places like Alfenheim or Niflheim, you go to the hub, pull a switch, and you're in the same physical space, but on another dimension. When I understand the spirit worlds, I understand them as existing here simultaneously as our physical world--which is also like the model of the Tree of Life in Kabbalah. Yes, the x-rays, gamma rays, and so on are all here, but we can't perceive them. It seems as though we're using different vocabulary to describe layers of reality rather than a separate reality altogether.

Thank you, I think the mods can just clearly create a thread since its becoming an issue that needs to be spelled out moving forward. Sad that we have to do this, but that's the way the world is developing now.

I think the constant argument that erupted on the forum over the years made me not like the topic and the diatribe, but generally, I actually liked most of those guys, especially ilovecoffee because of his conciliatory approach. MegaMind--I think we wouldn't really get along on any topic due to having the opposite approach of Mr. Coffee, but I wish him and the rest of their group well regardless of my personal disagreement towards some of their views. So yes: as individuals, fine, but as group reps--leave that at the door (which I think they prefer as well).

Is it possible to make a pinned post highlighting this specific rule in general and explaining why it’s bad for all members to see? I’ve been on the receiving end of my own posts being edited by a banned member and I suspect some people don’t understand why it’s a serious offense. They probably either think they’re being funny or summarizing a post to avoid long block quotes, but it’s becoming more common I see not just here, and it’s always annoying when someone does it.

For disagreeing with you? You must have a weak stomach then given how much disagreement is necessary for dialogue and growth. Being challenged is important for expanding what you understand and especially what you claim, and you’re making a lot of bold claims. Keep in mind I’m not arguing, I’m discussing and I have no horse in this race, nor do the others posting in response either see it as a race either.

Does anyone else play bingo whenever these same arguments come up and repeat again and again with the same people? “B2: posts video of the Chinese whisper, C4: insists video evidence is superior, D5: talks about others being trolls…” It is no wonder thedaobuns was opened where that eternal argument could be kept alive.

Junior high school has people poking fun to be mean. Here, people (mostly) poke fun because they want to help someone see something that everyone else can see but the individual himself or herself doesn’t or refuses to see. A blind man walked around the forest with a lantern to show people he was there and nobody would bump into him. He eventually bumped into someone and got angry, saying that he has a lantern for a reason. The other person said, “Your light burnt out long ago and you didn’t even know it.”

Do you have any experience with this happening at all? This is not a general prescription that happens with all styles or teachers. Again this depends on the style being practiced and the teacher. It's not a general one-size-fits-all approach.
