  1. An end to the intellect?

It seems you're a bit stuck - somewhere between recognizing "will" and giving your will over to others (based upon previous posts here), and even if you find yourself able to avoid this discussion the "stuckness" (or seeming internal conflict) will most likely remain.
  2. An end to the intellect?

It's literally been decades since I've looked into and studied these things, but a few thoughts come to mind. Job is "tested" because he is an exemplar of righteousness, who has a very good life. The parable explores how this righteousness holds up when the good life (and fortune) he had is stripped away piece by painful piece. Is his righteousness dependent upon good fortune, or is it "deeper" and "more true." It's a parable about keeping one's heart with God no matter what happens. It could also highlight personal doubt of the strength of one's faith, and the doubt others may have of one "not yet tested by life." And as I found in the reading of many books I am no longer remembering the titles to, and in engaging in many conversations, the ha satan of the old testament is best understood as an inner adversary..
  3. No more right-wing bullshit.

I live in Florida, and in looking up the most recent projections for Dorian was a bit surprised to see to see landfall is being projected for a very specific area on Tuesday morning. The area - West Palm Beach. If the reason for posting this here isn't quite clear, the spiral shape of hurricanes reminds me of what I consider an ancient symbol of the goddess. Soo.. the goddess is taking aim at Trump, in one of the only ways it could hurt - his personal property and income. Which gave me a little chuckle - even as we have to get the last panel of the storm shutters up today.
  4. An end to the intellect?

Hi Maskied, our friend Ningali has his ways, and is also both well informed and experienced in what he shares. He has actually helped me out in a situation much like what he likened to drowning in the ocean - where one stops fighting and struggling and suddenly finds themselves floating. May I ask where, and how, this fight or flight arises? What is being protected, and why?
  5. Jesus from Siberia

.. and is willing to sacrifice you towards his own ends..
  6. Book of Memories

My father has compiled extensive genealogies (with many "broken branches" alas), and has included in his personal files many little tidbits regarding what's known... Fascinating stuff with great gaps; I know, for example, one (great to whatever degree) grandfather was a wagon maker, but I don't know what his favorite meal was. I know of fortunes made and lost, and murmers of proclivities.. I know of journeys through Europe, and arrivals in the U.S. - some before it was the U.S.
  7. Perhaps the Giles translation would be more to your liking? Which continues thus:
  8. In the very next short section of the book it is reported the students were seen to not be understanding.. I've recently looked at three translations, all of which vary a bit, and in the variances may be easier or harder for the individual to recognize or comprehend. Imo this may be, in part, because an example is being used to point to the ineffable - perhaps reminiscent of the difficulties presented in the Rangtong/Shentong dispute about "best means" to "bring" individuals to realization.
  9. Would it be acceptable to say this sounds very much like the Valley Spirit?
  10. No more right-wing bullshit.

Pssst.. in order to properly "flounce" (as Nungali puts it), you actually have to leave the room (or stop posting in the thread, as it were) or risk painting yourself as a bit overly dramatic - especially when being mocked for the initial attempt at a flounce... Ahhh shit.. and I'm back.. is it still a proper flounce if I stay away a few days? And has the creative name calling let up at all in here? :looks around: What? Do I have ketchup on my chin, or something?
  11. What We Think We Know

Do you have a seperate tree floating in empty space somewhere?
  12. Yes, I certainly don't belong here, where any personal experience of mine will be so easily dismissed and/or trampled. Yea, you know more; you're the font of wisdom, and I'm just a happy idiot... Good luck to all of you on your paths, and warm regards. Peace out..
  13. I grew up as a person in rural area with well water.. and still prefer it.
  14. From someone without cred, and not soo much caring about cred... what the hell guys? : makes a confused face and considers the use of panhandler as an insult used by a socialist : I'm completely lost here, and feel this to be appropriate.. I've never even lived in a big city - felt a city of 50,000 draining the vitality from me. Rewilding? Yes, please. : looks around, realises I don't belong here, and crawls back out of the rabbit hole:

  22. What We Think We Know

It's the acronym for "Don't know, don't care, but it's a sunny day and it's all good," or for short. Love ya, and sorry if my attempts to use our interaction to highlight the subject matter caused you any upset.
  23. What We Think We Know

The story wasn't intended to be tragic, and back home would have been met with a "no shit," "suck it up buttercup," or some such dismissal because it's just life - which is kinda what I was intending to convey.

I'll actually miss you Chang. You were like a crabby uncle - set in his ways, and not worth arguing with, but viewed with some affection regardless. Best wishes in your journeys.
