I trust the implication wasn't your intent, and with my question had some vague reflections about your own comments in a different mopai thread abour how the placebo narrative implied something similar to what I asked in mind. You missed where I was pointing my friend. It was about my father's stifling of expression for the sake of his peace, and the myriad ways this particular dynamic plays out. It was much more about subtle patriarchal dominance (and the ways it is subconsciously self-propegated even in those of us who would generally decry the idea of the patriarchy) than the childhood abuse which became the "taboo topic." What you did here is "minimizing," although again, I suspect this wasn't your actual intent. By the standard you set, yes. I'm glad you finally allowed yourself expression.. Some of the people here are doing the same - in their own way. Just so.

Very colorful.. brings to mind the wind blowing away ash (trusting you will get the reference). I'm going to point to a particular phrase from the above quote, "people, who consider themselves practitioners," and directly ask a question. Was the implication these people are not "true practitioners" intended? Apparently there are those who, for their own reasons, feel they do. This is your assessment, and I can't help but note the similarities with this, and my father's assessments and proclamations when my sisters and I could finally speak of the abuses we had experienced at the hands of our mother. There are wounds here, sometimes to the individuals posting and sometimes to people whose suffering was only witnessed. There is concern. Perhaps this can be filed under a "can't let go," but honestly who are any of us to tell another when it's "time to let go"? In my experience this happens in its own time, and simply can't be forced by the self or anyone else without creating further karmic seeds through repression. I'm well aware of what I'm doing in this thread, are you?
  3. Mo Pai - want to find a person, you can help if you know.

And up to the person possibly receiving the info to decide whether or not they wish to engage the with the one seeking their attention. This is an excellent and respectful practice imo, and I'm pleased to see such niceties being brought to the table here.

Thank you. Was Jim given permissions and blessings to teach and/or initiate others?
  7. .

If this transpired, I suspect anyone who has been on staff since then would have had access to the staff discussions - which I understood to be readable in the same manner threads in the open forum are.
  8. .

It isn't complicating it for many here, but simplifying. The question of initiation is straightforward. Would you be willing to simply answer the question, have you been initiated in mopai by somebody with permission and blessings to initiate others?

There is nobody here with the power to consolidate threads until Sean returns.

Having once been investigated myself, I can attest in the old forum he had to have IT search the old chat logs, and didn't have access to our PMs, although from what I understand the new forum is the same as another where an admin was reading personal messages.

Dawei, while I view you with a certain amount of affection, I sincerely hope you are never again placed in the position of "Protector of Jeff," and voices of dissent are never again dominated and/or silenced here.
  12. .

It honestly is this creepy and insidious imo.
  13. .

Grrrrrr No Cult of Jeff bullshit please! It's really not funny.
  14. .

    This!
  15. .

It could be viewed as following his lead, instead of as taking advantage. I find the current dynamics interesting. Some who silenced themselves due to past dynamics are once again sharing.. and now a different set of voices gets to quiet themselves. Honestly, I'd prefer this brutal form of honest expression over certain veneers of civility - even when I find myself cringing on occasion. I've come to think of it as "getting real." YMMV of course

    ??? Please explain further...
  17. .

Oh my stars!?! Are you daft? Or just soo stuck in argumentative mode that you are unable to follow even the simplest line of conversation or reasoning? Or maybe you're just playing more games? To be clear, YOU mentioned Ken's forum and someone being banned here for acting like a jerk there. NOWHERE did I type ANYTHING about him or SOTG being members of your pitiable game playing group. Seriously dude, wtf???
  18. .

Apparently Ken was banned for similar comments in May of 2014 - setting precedence for what you mention here. pssst It's not about being a member of a targeted group, but overtly acting like unstable jerks pounding their chests to get attention, and then crying when this apparently craved attention arrives. Once again, members of your group were not victims, but instigators imo (and owing to what I've shared here should have been well aware of the potential consequences).
  19. Bonsai

There is a small ficus ginseng which lives in a pot on the front porch. She started her residency here indoors, but seemed to be suffering after awhile and was losing leaves at one point, so I moved her to the porch where mists of rain provide moisture, small amounts of sunlight dance through the leaves of a neighboring bougainvillea, and she experiences the cycles of nature in the subtropical climate in which I live. She is now doing well, and has a nice crown of leaves. BTW "She" is referred to as a she due to the voluptuousness of her form, and the curve of her "hip," and is sometimes sung to as earth type mother by me. Yes, I'm a bit odd. Thanks for starting this topic.
  20. Breathing into LDT properly using reverse breathing

Random thought: People who are freezing to death often strip off their clothes - believing themselves to be overheating. They don't feel like they need warm clothing (paraphrase), although it generally doesn't turn out so well. The whole paradoxical thing can trip up the brain sometimes.. and I'd suggest fostering caution when setting up beliefs..
  21. Did you happen to see this exceptionally informative post by @Walker? Perhaps the information could be of benefit in addressing some of the back difficulties you are experiencing. As it was explained to me, the back should rest like a stack of saucers; the details and images in the above post while not as pithy, seem soo much clearer than an image of small plates resting in a cupboard. Thank you for this gem of a post Walker.
  22. Hi Heartbreak, I was living in a small apartment myself when I received the following as a gift. It covers some of the concerns you've raised regarding your own practice, and may be a gateway to what you are seeking: https://www.dharmacrafts.com/025cd/insight-meditation-2-cds?q=Vipassana This article gives an introduction to Vipassana if you haven't already had one, and provides some brief instruction on engaging in walking meditation as support for sitting meditation. (Highlighting short walkways which may be more in tune with your present environment.) https://www.lionsroar.com/how-to-practice-vipassana-insight-meditation/ Recognition and acknowledgment of sensation, without "falling into" the sensation or negating it is a "doorway." However, this is one of those things you'll have to balance and find for yourself through practice.

He's asking who is presently doing the teaching in your group, and what their association with the actual lineage may be. Easy peasy...

@Zhongyongdaoist Do you mind if I link to your previous write up of the book here? If you'd prefer not, I'll remove it. Nice to see you posting, btw.
