  1. Looking for help

Seems you misunderstood the reason for closing that thread. That post was denigrating to women and that is the reason it was locked. Misogyny is not tolerated on the daobums. This guy is in need of help and asks for it. No trace of denigrating language towards women. seems you feel attacked, but i do not target you i target misogyny

am sorry this happened to you, Trunk and SilentThunder give good advice. You still have a young and resilient body, it took some time to get it into this dis-functioning and it will take some time to get your body out of it. Be careful, when you look back in say 5 years you will see that as one of the lessons you've learned. I think quite a lot of people have hurt themselves one way or another with this playing with chi, had my share of it. Chia though has a lot to answer for. wishing you all the best

  4. yes, maybe a long retraite i've had so much learning moments from this thread

agree, but for people who grow up in cities, always wear shoes ( and smothering plastic clothing) it is decidedly useful. Not only for the connection with mother earth though, also for the simple act of being outside, without a phone. just feeling rain or sun or cool wind on your skin, becoming aware of the ever slightly changing outside. Being outside is the natural state and for many people it has become the exception. Current modern society is very heady, people live in their headspace instead of in their bodies. Although I am just the most humble beginner, me thinks that that state of being a city person sets one back many miles compared to people who are connected with the outside, who know how to swing an ax, stoke a fire, catch a fish et cetera. i guess it's wearing rubber soles that make a difference, i think in the countries you talk about people wear shoewear made of wood leather and woven stuff when it was too cold? Were I live people wore wooden footwear in winter, with thick woolen knitted socks to keep feet warm in winter I wear sheepskin bootee shaped slippers, i can feel the difference compared to slippers with rubber soles. hm... when you never experience that the body can be disconnected from the earth one will maybe not talk or write about it. Although the chines guy that's my teacher was very clear about the connection and its importance. But have no idea about the old books as I am not a person with booklearning. But i think in general the Yong Quan point is regarded as important, being a connection to the earth. Keeping warm is very important, but nowadays people will sit on a plastic 'yogamat' instead of some natural product like wool/leather/ woven stuff. agree

it's not about the usefulness of grounding, that's a well-known fact, nothing new about it although why and how that works can be debated. there is a recent thread about it , hm... yes found it Here you can read many different views on the way standing barefoot on the skin of mother earth will effect the energy-system of the human body. That would have been a good place for starters. ----- Unorthodox or new ways of cultivation, well, most of us are wedded to our own brand of woowoo. Besides every once in a while some one comes here as a junior bum with a story of hot energy wreaking havoc in body and mind. Nasty sorts of havoc, playing around with chi has very real dangers, it's like playing with fire in that regard and not realizing how painful a burn is. Can only speak for myself but there's nothing in me that wants to try untested methods, there's a reason lineage is deemed important. Without my teacher I would have gone mad as a hatter at the start of my cultivation path . It's the way you speak, your tone, nobody here is a disciple of you. You put yourself on a pedestal and act as if you've unraveled the mysteries of life. Now that I call presumptuous. I guess you're a young man that has just discovered the world of chi cultivation. You seem to perceive the forums here as a group, almost as an entity. But it's a loosely knit group of people and many here are individualists, each has his own idea how it all works, varying from magic, to purely philosophical to Buddhism in all its variations to deep into neidan. Each following their own path. See it as a pub, there are people talking, having a beer, some are watching football on the telly. Then a young man comes in, jumps on the table and starts telling everybody he's the master, he has sacred wisdom, the savior. First they laugh a bit, someone comes up to him and tells him to get off that table and sit down and join the banter but when he persists he get teased. Yup, so you'd better come down from your high horse, read along with threads, get your place at the table, instead of standing on it. (oh, and I am a very private person, I generally only exchange personal messages with those I perceive as friends so you can regard this as an answer.)

2 of them have an extra arm and the gal in the red heels has very funny arms. But the overall look is good and I do like how he positioned the saints
  10. Can jing be replenished?

that's beautiful, the way you put that in words, thank you
  11. Hello, and where do I start?

welcome, you just made a good start by asking that question. with a bit of luck some daobum can point you a direction. It takes some good searching, maybe you will find someone that cam teach real life, not all of them advertise themselves. Also nowadays there are several online possibilities
  12. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

As you are not a woman, you will not gain access to the women's garden, But anyways, in every sub-forum the same rules are applied, misogynistic trash is out of bounds.
  13. Jing Replenishment: The Rooted Path Revelation

I read its due to grumpiness, or maybe its the other way round
  14. Bump, I am missing CT anybody knows something about him?
  15. as there are some bums that read chinese, i would much like what is written on this picture. probably something like: Lao Tzu riding Ox but still and what is he holding? is that a musical instrument? or a calabas? or...
  16. doctors don't know anything about troubles induce by this sort of damage. they will send you into psychiatry and/or prescribe psychopharmaca the idea of cultivation is development, not going nuts.
  17. I've had my troubles too, play with fire get burnt
  18. sure...sure... o wow, a whole month, now that's convincing. But don't you come knocking at my door for help when things turn out wrong, you were warned.
  19. well, every once in a while we get people who have played around witch chi/energy/whatever you wanna call it and fucked themselves up. "help, what do I do know." that's the reason that some practitioners worth their salt are critical ( to put it softly) about homegrown practice.
  20. How did you come up with your username?

i must admit i not remember too clearly, but did start out with a different avatar. something like this.
  21. could someone translate this for me?

  23. The very foundation of foundations is not wasting your seed!

Your initial post exclusively addresses male bums. Thereby you ignore the females on the forums. You also objectify and denigrate women. Most people would think that sexuality is a shared activity, hardly two separate things... The way you talk about women here is repulsive. Furthermore, males are much more prone to problems with regulating their sexuality then females, that is something well known in Daoist cultivation. You're mirroring your own problems here on the opposite sex and laying fault with them. I for one won't have that. I do not deny that sexual overindulgence, whether solo or with (a) partner(s) can reduce jing, that’s a given, for all genders. Women do not steal or take away jing of males. They do that their-selves by being overly attached to sexual acts or sexual fantasies. Years ago the forums were flooded with posts like these, about fapping and the perceived stealing of Jing by women. Subforums were then created, imho this one belongs in the subforum for men. So when you have a problem with fapping I suggest you go there with posts like these. @steve Am I right by thinking this thread belongs in the male quarters?
  24. could someone translate this for me?

yes, that could very well be a fan, thankyou
  25. The very foundation of foundations is not wasting your seed!

hm, you realize there are female cultivators? some more skilled then any guy some being daobums.
