  1. Vulcans vs Klingons

And Andromeda, a TV series also based on a concept by Gene Roddenberry. And Lexx - The Dark Side (definitely not by Roddenberry).
  2. Vulcans vs Klingons

I liked Star Trek: Enterprise which is playing just a hundred years or so in the future, when the galaxy was still new.
  3. The Art of War

Only that I expected this move of yours, and have the bulk of my army waiting for you in the aquatic grass surrounding ponds, in hollow basins filled with reeds, and in woods with thick undergrowth. <Echoing, mad laughter>
  4. Hi I have a couple questions

Right. Threads started in Welcome are basically just for introduction. Your question will get much more attention from other members if posted in General Discussion.
  5. Hi I have a couple questions

Hello Grim, and welcome to the forums, Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We hope that you will find an answer to your question here. For that, it might be best you start a thread dedicated to it. Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. 6. What does, "All law must be subjective" mean?

I agree with you overall, but holistic systems have built-in checks and balances to make sure that minor causes don't lead to major catastrophes. If a certain kind of plant grows out of control, sure enough there will be a bug showing up which considers it its favourite dish. And not every butterfly's flight causes a tornado somewhere else. Although much freedom of choice is given to humans, there are things that the Dao (or whatever you like to call it) wills as they are in line with the balance and evolution of the whole, and those will manifest more easily and effortlessly.
  7. Beyond the spiritual heart

T_I, Assuming that you include me with those "moderators": Even though Jeff and I have interacted a number of times and hold one another in high regard, I am not his (or, for that matter, anybody else's) follower. And I never observed that he would have imposed himself on me or anybody else as a guru to be followed. Having clarified this, I do not intend to further participate in the present discussion and will avoid being drawn into it. So you don't need to reply to me. However, I will continue to read this thread - with the objective eye of a moderator.
  8. Science for the awakened

That's fine, as long as you can still hear the thunder. It's part of what makes us human.
  9. Science for the awakened

Yes, it is crucial to our psychological wellbeing that we understand and integrate where we came from. Also having some future perspective is important - especially hopes.
  10. Science for the awakened

It sometimes strikes me that NOW is all that I experience, I ever have and ever will. Everything else only happens in my mind. Maybe we don't travel away from the past and forwards into the future, rather, the past leaves us and the future comes to us in our eternal NOW.
  11. The Art of War

Great, so you are the ideal person to comment on it! Some of the paragraphs made me wonder.
  12. simplify

    Singularity
  13. The Art of War

Are you warriors all still around? I hope so, for we continue our exploration of master Sun Tzu's neat manual. Ch. IX covers two main themes: Different kinds of territory we and the opponent are faced with. How to read the opponent's behaviour.
  14. I agree with much of what has been said here, especially by Small Fur, redcairo and Kubba. I would like to add that on its path to awakening and selfhood, the ego will repeatedly experience states both of dissolution and coagulation, expansion and contraction, losing and finding itself. That's how internal alchemy happens.
  15. Beyond the spiritual heart

Not to forget: In light of this, let's take another look just at your last post: Perhaps you could refrain from making remarks like the highlighted ones. In fact, the moderating team must insist upon it.
  16. Beyond the spiritual heart

terms and rules Please read the second last paragraph of the quoted text carefully.
  17. Black and zen

Red is good energy wise in the sense that it's the most passionate, physically vitalizing and aggressive colour. It definitely has its uses, but not for meditation, except maybe for certain specialised "wild" forms.
  18. simplify

    Perception
  19. Staff rotation

Oh well, I will just say:
  20. simplify

    (Hehehe) Safety gear
  21. Black and zen

Which ties in with the state of 'emptiness' that the Zen practitioner seeks.
  22. Black and zen

Oh, were it so simple. Not only this dude likes to dress in black... ...this one does it too. Of course, which side of the Force the latter is serving is a matter of conjecture.
  23. simplify

    And new expansion.
