Thoughts on Bill Bodri's latest book & view?
Taoist Texts replied to anshino23's topic in Systems and Teachers of
his approach is different in a sense that it is fake. he steals the terminology in order to pass his imitation for the real thing. but he cannot steal the techniques. because he has no clue what the techniques are. cant steal 'an unknown unknown' as they say. this one is hilarious. thanks;) -

you can do it. why not? there is no particular benefit or harm in it. doing it provides no guarantee from deviations either.

oh he achieved plenty Do you know what this means?!!! Successfully evading the evil sect of Shaolin monks Bruce Lee first disguised himself as Bruce Li, his separated at birth twin. Then after the epic battle with Fu Man-chu on the top of a Hong Kong skyscraper in 2012 Bruce decided it was time to hang his nunchaku. Leaving behind this priceless gem of a book he disappeared in the Indonesian jungle. He lives there now at peace in a picturesque cave, occasionally imparting his ageless wisdom on the backpacking gwailos.

Chapters one to ten are a review of misunderstood literature. Exercises from chpt 10 to 14 are misunderstood Mantack Chia which in its turn is guttered Wu-lu pai. The author did not achieve anything personally. The book is of the same quality as Damo and JAJ drivel.

wrong attribution. there is no such passage in Aṅguttara Nikāya 3.14 https://suttacentral.net/an3.14/en/sujato?layout=plain&reference=none¬es=asterisk&highlight=false&script=latin the passage comes from Majjhima Nikaya, the Discourse on Many Element (115) https://suttacentral.net/mn115/en/sujato?layout=plain&reference=none¬es=asterisk&highlight=false&script=latin As par for the course a popular opinion is a direct opposite of the tradition. There is absolutely no female discrimination in budddhism. It is a ridiculously ignorant myth that there is. This passage states that a spontaneously originating Buddha manifests himself as a male. (Similarly to the universe creating god Brahma or the universe destroying demon Mara) It absolutely does not mean that a woman cannot become a buddha. https://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka/sn/sn05/sn05.002.olen.html

sure: those who talk about neidan do not know what they are talking about. they fantasize instead

i know. lots of well-intended people think that something can be created out of nothing. they look surprised when they try and get nothing instead of something. -

Taoist Texts replied to Centli's topic in Daoist Discussion
unfortunately it is not clear what this poem even means. Also it is not a taoist poem but a Chan one 后来龙互禅师乃云:人情浓厚道情微,道用人情世岂知。空有人情无道用,人情能得几多时。」 https://ctext.org/wiki.pl?if=gb&chapter=243859&remap=gb -
Need help clarifying a paragraph from chapter 1of Taoist Yoga
Taoist Texts replied to BluePickle's topic in Daoist Textual Studies
Right. This is not a part of the original book. The intro comes from the translator Charles Luke who did not really understand the subject matter. I would not worry about this. -

But then again, these names and locations do not matter the least bit. Because they take your money but hide from you what is really to be done with these dantians.

mine;) not 'the yang', "the yang thing" which is an euphemism for penis. 'rising'='erection'. and erection is bad because it leaks the yang qi yes. literally having no thoughts in the meditative state. It is believed that when the organ is fully drawn back into the abdomen the male practiser has no leakage of yang qi. When drawn in the male practiser's anatomy resembles that of a stallion whose penis is drawn into a sheath when not erect https://horses.extension.org/stallion-anatomy-exam/ -

very good. excellent. thats why the western Buddhists come up with these peculiar ideas. nice people they are but confused something fierce. -
hmmm, no. i am certain you know of this trick where to understand a concept you have to take it to the extreme. now instead of 'anything' substitute 'crack'. as in 'crack is whack'. see how it works out now.
