  1. Microcosmic Orbit

Doing it 'prematuely' has it's benefits along the lines of it being a fast path, but that's for people who like to slog through imbalances with the benefit of increased 'awareness'. BTW, what I meant by there being hundreds of ways to do the MCO with physical body postures + flowing movement wasn't refering to common everyday stuff like lifting your arm to open a door. What I was refering to was dedicated hard core yoga high power movement energy type exercises, some barely moving and some with fairly fast motions. There must be a thousand ways to do the MCO with these movements, and many of them are beautiful and exotic and feel good. Playing with the MCO with your mind is fraught with problems - particularly forthose who do it as their main practice.

    Duhhhhh, what's CCO?
  3. Fair Maiden Working Shuttles

The fighting application for fair lady works shuttles is: the first hand lifts the opponent's arm up and the second hand delivers a palm strike upwards, under the sternum, to the heart.
  4. Microcosmic Orbit

Using visualization/intent methods to do the MCO is a BAD idea and has caused considerable and permanent harm in some people. By far the best way to do it is with moving chi kung exercises, and I know at least a hundred different variations of the moving MCO. If you do the right chi kung the MCO starts up on it's own and continues naturally without any concious interference from the practitioner. I've heard that Mantak Chia is the most advanced Taoist master in the world, has anyone here heard of that?
  5. Hi

Thank you for the info, I read this right after you posted it and had some questions but I got real busy with software mods and changes to my forum. Now that I return I think I understand the answers to the questions I had. It sounds like the first two are like self tests to see if you have proper alignment, and the second one is an exercise which I image you mean to do as a series of repetitions for practice. I understand the idea of rotating the waist instead of the knee, I found that out the hard way after my knee surgery =) Thanks Michael. I'm taking some glucosamin, MSM, and chondroitin but I suppose the amounts are too small and I'm taking them to sporadically. I also take salmon oil in a large capsule once a day. My knee didn't bother me much after my surgery except for when I had too much inactivity. I do quite a bit of backpacking and it doesn't seem to affect it but it's bothering me a little more now, and it could be due to inactivity because I've been spending so much time at my desk, I've also started a new martial art which could be contributing to it because we do some pushing in it. I used to take cod liver oil but switched to Alaskan salmon to try to reduce metal poisoning. I'm assuming Salmon oil is as good as Cod oil. I should probalby just take more of it.
  6. Hi

Thank you very much for finding that info for me. I had a feeling there might be some way to heal a meniscus injury but I couldn't find it so I had the surgery on my left knee about two years ago. My #1 student had meniscus surgery on both knees a couple of months ago. It's a shame I didn't know about it earlier so I could have at least tried to help him. When they start taking parts of your body out and throwing them away that's a one way road to hell =) I'm going to study the info and see if maybe it can help grow back some of the meniscus that was taken out. Luckily it was a small amount. If you don't mind I'll take that and put it on my forum. We have one forum dedicated to health and nutrition where it will go nicely. I'm glad you are enjoying my forum and website.
  7. Hi

Hi everyone, I was looking through the different threads and read one that discussed methods of repairing torn knee menscus without surgery which looked very good but now I can't find it. It was posted by the main forum moderator I think. If anyone could direct me to that thread or post the info/link here I would very much appreciate it. Thanks, Star man
  8. Qigong master projects his chi energy (video)

I know a couple of guys who can move and throw people without touching them.
  9. Energy work

I teach a Taoist martial/spiritual Chi Kung (internal Alchemy) but it is far from being an occupation, more like a hobby. My occupation is making custom fireplace glass doors for people with way too much money, as a master craftsman. It fits with Taoist viewpoint but has nothing to do with energy work.
  10. Immortality Poll

I voted yes for immortality, but it depends on your definition, or mine. Immortality for hundreds and possibly thousands of years appears possible but immortality forever seems dubious.
  11. Jumping into eternity

This is called a Glory, rarely seen before the advent of airplanes. Sometimes Taoist monks standing on a foggy mountaintop with the sun behind them would see their shadow inside a glory and think it was their god and jump off the mountain into it's arms. YIPPEEEEEEEEEeee
  12. Enlightenment And Evolution

We agree much more than you know. You are right, an enlightenment experience is not the same as being enlightened, at least not after the first 24 hours or so. During that initial time it is the same though. Then much work remains to be done, work that never ends. Consider it a preview.
  13. Jumping into eternity

Hi Michael, there are many different solar diffraction effects, but the particular one I am refering to here only happens when the sun is directly behind you and fog or mist is in front of you and you see your shadow inside the circles at the same time. In fact you can tell exactly where the photographer was sitting on the aircraft because the circles are centered on the observer's eyes. Therefore, to our Taoist monk on the mountain top it would look like his shadow had a big aura around the head. I didn't know it was called jumping into eterntiy, at least not consioulsy. I think I fell into the abyss Thank you for the description.
  14. Enlightenment And Evolution

Before you go too far you should note that there is something called an enlightenment experience, and there is some thing else, they say, called being enlightened. Two different things. Once the enlightenment experience is over, then, my friend, then you're no longer enlightened. But, It ignites a process, an unfolding, which may or may not result in what people call being enlightened, I'm not telling. Two different things. One is emotional bliss the other one is something else.
  15. Hi

Well we already are Tao Bums, just don't know about this place, but I'll post a link to it. There aren't too many of us over there except for us moderators but it's betting slightly busier lately. Our forum has as it's primary focus the Taoist arts and practices rather than the philosophy or religion (I know they overlap) I have been practicing Yang and Chen Tai Chi, including sword forms, but my primary practice is an internal Chi Kung (Nei Kung) which is also a path of internal alchemy. It's all about cultivating Chi power and is sometimes called a sorcerer's practice. Here's the forum link: Empirical Taoism Here's my Chi Kung website: Tien Shan Chi Kung
  16. Hi

Thanks, I am pretty opinionated about the practices, so I will look into sharing. I looked into the practices section and it looks like different people have their own mini forums. I'm wondering if those need to be set up for you or does admin do that? I'll check to see what it says about it in instrctions. I see you make swords, Leigh. I've made a few knives. My method is cutting them out of stainless and then doing a lot of grinding so that they have a symetrical airfoil shape, not like the standard flat sided knife with a bevel grind. With the airfoil shape and the polished stainless it gives them a sort of jewelry like look. In other words the blade itself is like jewelry, not just a flat peice with jewelry added on. Edit: never mind, I found the rules stated right there on the forum description
