  1. meditation help

Stillness of the mind is required for a person to have clarity, and once a person has achieved continuous stillness of the mind during their day to day activities, which comes after the enlightenment experience, which comes after mastering stillness of the mind during meditation, then thought can return to stillness because then it won't distract one out of stillness (peace) into unstillness. This is called stillness within motion of the mind, the second stage of alchemical growth. The third and final stage, and a stage which never ends and in which no one is perfect, not even the immortals, is stillness within motion in ethics, the skillfull movement through life situations while maintaining an inner stillness, which is Te. Peace is where it's at. OOps, I went off on a tangent there. stillness of the mind is required for a person to have clarity, and clarity lies at the foundation of true knowing. However the importance of knowing is way overblown, although you don't know that till you have clarity, and then it's too late Peace (of mind) is where it's at. This may be true for some systems but it is backwards compared to my system, which is all about chi power. The way the path of power works for us is that the movements greatly increase your chi power via many different kinds of chi kung methods and then the extra power is used during meditation to make the meditations much more effective, because the meditations are about power too. So, while it is true that the movements can clear blockages there is much more to movement than that. Movement is life, to cultivate life requires movement !!! So, we move first to generate more chi and then we sit to put it to good use.

That sounds like an interesting practice, Cat. I think it's a good thing but first I would need to identify what I'm giving my power to, and nothing comes to mind although I'm sure I'm doing it. Concerning impertinence, I can't see how that fits and wonder if you meant impermanence? I had to look it up and I can see how you possibly mean irrelevance but I can't make the other words fit. Definition: 1: the quality or state of being impertinent: as a: irrelevance, inappropriateness b: incivility, insolence There is a somewhat similar practice that was mentioned on my forum, which is dead now,and it goes something like this. If you breath in and out through your pituitary, after breathing in and out through your third eye and crown point, that it feels like your field of awareness or your 'self' is expanding.

In case that went over your head, Gold: it appears that you are the kind of teacher that you are warning us against, ROFL
  4. Ascended Masters

The fact that you are creating distortions by the way you spin it did not go over my head at all, nor did the fact that you have a domineering nature go over my head. A true master will teach you to become independent because they teach you the route to self reliance and to the formless, which is NOT the same as spontaneous movement. The thing is, you need to know an ass ended master when you see one. kidding!
  5. Bruce Lee

Yes, and the amazing thing is that his touch is so light that you can't feel it most of the time, unless he wants you to, and if he wants you to it's usually a set up. He still does.
  6. Sleep Paralysis or Demonic Possession?

Hi Stig, I saw a documentary about this kind of thing. Evidently it is a fairly common occurrence. People feel there is a presence, they are pinned to the bed and can't move. The documentary explained it as a non mystical, non spirit situation. Sorry I can't remember the scientific name of it or the details of the explanation. What was different in your case was the out of body experieince that went with it. Have you had an out of body experience before? I think it's really stupid, you go too far with all this everything is mind stuff.
  7. masters getting high

The ancient poem is mentioned in the book Road to Heaven, Encounters with Chinese Hermits by Bill Porter. It was a fun book to read.
  8. masters getting high

Maybe he is making a dumpling, but i think he's going to smoke it. That guy looks familiar, who is it?
  9. Chi Kung and smoking

Eat fresh, not canned, water chestnuts.
  10. A Question For The Ladies

Hmm, labeling myself, that could be difficult =) Well, some people who know me call me a chi kung master, but I've seen a real chi kung master, so I don't think I'm one, so I prefer labeling myself as a chi kung adept. How does that sound? More later
  11. masters getting high

One of the earliest known writings in the whole world was written by a Chinese Shaman, and it could be titled Ode to the Green Bud. Also, the idea has been put forward that tai chi was invented on pot, and that makes a lot of sense.
  12. Ascended Masters

I just read something in another post. I had assumed that an ascended person was dead but I guess an ascended person can still be alive? Which one is it, or can it be both?
  13. Immortals

The types you have read about aren't necessarily conflicting as there are quite a few types of immortals.

  15. While in the World

Under strict conditions. OK then, I myself don't do strict very well so I guess for me the best thing is avoidance. There are some conflicting ideas I have about this, as it says in the TTC: the sage is also good to the bad person, but I don't want to expose myself to the energy, nor do I want to help the unethical become powerful. Sooo ... if you have the time could you expand a bit on the "strict conditions" and what the smiley face means? Thanks Lin, I saw the posts in the other thread, whichever one it is, and figured out what Tin Si stands for. It could also be written tien shi can't it. Tien as in heaven and Shi as in teacher? I know the tien word

I don't think math would help because part of the process of meditation is that the thinking that you end up doing while you are trying not to think is, in essence, a review of your life, and until you review your entire life it will keep coming up.
  17. Ascended Masters

If you ask a question or ask for something, in your mind, and a voice rings clear as a bell in your head in response then you would feel there is no need for proof.
  18. Ascended Masters

I've experienced this kind of thing a few times but never thought about it coming from other spirits, ascended or not. I thought it was just premonition or synchronicity, which to me seems weirder than hearing from spirits =)
  19. Ascended Masters

True, it's hard to say who it is coming from. I know a couple of times it was from my teacher, who is still alive and not ascended. Perhaps each time it was him. Sometimes what is said is quite funny and unexpected. It's my practice buddy who has experienced hearing from an ascended master, and that was only once. However. at other times, when it is his turn to lead one of our practices, he says hesometimes sees an image of a figure in his mind's eye that shows him the exercises. This could be our teacher, some other, or his imagination. Edit: like once my buddy told me he would be one of the ones who rises when Jesus comes to take the good people. I mentally asked my teacher if this was true, and the word Bullshit! (without the L sound, his accent) popped into my head, ROFL. When these things happen it is different than imagination because the words appear to have sound but the sound does not come from outside. Also, I don't have the imagination to make talking appear in my head.
  20. Ascended Masters

My practice buddy and I have experienced things of this nature. A few times.

Focusing on the movement of the body is a most effective way to still the mind, and tai chi has so much depth that there will be an endless supply of things relating to movement to focus on. Chi kung doesn't have this kind of focus so it is more difficult. Focusing on your Buddhist methods while sitting is more difficult than that, and most difficult of all is focusing on nothing, but that's the goal because focusing on anything will cause some tension. If you can sit for two hours with no focus, no thoughts, and no tension then you are really starting to get somewhere.
  22. A Warning

Yes, he was easy to read from the start and I think you read him, but it was nice for you to give him a chance to redeem himself. Hi Benny, is it OK to charge people for meditation classes?
  23. meditation help

If anything can quiet a noisy mind it is tai chi. However, what you are describing is common for beginning meditators.
  24. While in the World

I don't know what Tin Si means, but I did recognize him as authentic and powerful. Hey Lin, I have a question for you. Earlier in this thread you spoke of people who have been compromised or 'poisoned' by accepting teaching from someone who is dishonest. So here's the big question: would you accept one of these people as a student? My intuition tells me it would not be good.
  25. A Question For The Ladies

Is this the official Tao Bums dating site? I'm looking for a good woman too, and I don't give a flying flapjack about ascension.
