Maoshan Tao - When you know it's real?

Recommended Posts

  • Greetings as I had seen many post on Maoshan Tao. It has been years since I posted to this forum. Some post are closer to Maoshan than others. Because Maoshan Tao was never suppose to be used on humans the energy developed is somewhat deceptive, some of the "posters" who came to class for a short time, quit as it was too difficult. Yes, we do practice on each other, otherwise you would not know what you are doing and this cannot be shown in a video. You can only learn from a full Sifu of the lineage of Andrew Lum and Patrick Moon as registered in both Honolulu and Hawaii.
  • Because of the confusion - and so little information given to the public in the past. It may be time to show the real "Maoshan Tao" to those who are serious about practicing.

Because we knew that Maoshan Tao would be abused, Andrew Lum and Patrick Moon registered Maoshan Tao with the state of Hawaii and city of Honolulu to insure the integrity of Maoshan Tao. We knew others would abuse Maoshan as it is a very powerful system so it is easy for others to take Maoshan Tao and abuse it, pretending to be part of the lineage. Before anyone can teach in this style, permission was need from Sijyo Andrew Lum or Sijyo Patrick Moon.

You can't learn Maoshan from books, DVDs, video streams, etc. There are people commercializing on Maoshan without permission to teach in China and the United States. Let me clarify that the 5 Element Sets are not Maoshan. You can ask Patrick Moon or myself when you come to class and we do cover the lineage so someone faking Maoshan on this forum does not have the authority to teach nor distribute material from our class.

I have studied Maoshan Tao personally from both Patrick Moon and Andrew Lum for over 30 years. I have looked through internet search to see if there are any others teaching.

I saw a post from a former student saying that the "Sifus of Maoshan" did not want to be identified. This is completely false! The truth is he studied with Sijyo Patrick Moon for 2 days and quit. He learned the basic sets from me, but at the time I had asked Andrew Lum and Patrick Moon if I could teach so that I would have a core group to practice when I came back to from Hawaii to California. I was not a Sifu at the time as the advancements in Maoshan has greatly outperformed; since, I was a student getting permission from Patrick Moon and Andrew Lum. I was able to speak with Sijyo Andrew Lum before he past away. It is sad as I do see Maoshan videos on YouTube of those claiming to be Maoshan in China, and the U.S., but even they admit they don't know the real lineage. If people don't know their lineage, they are telling you that they are not associated with the real Maoshan.

Please know that due to the timeframe, the question is do you want to work out and get a real "Rolex" or a fake 'Rolex.' The real Maoshan or someone who takes classes for a few years selling material that has no value.

It's your choice so I am not going to tell you what you want to do. I see enough Maoshan threads and there are only 2 Sifu/Sijyo who are still alive.

My goal is to train the next generations of instructors and not hold anyone back who has the aptitude to follow the instructions set forth with material that is not even true. Once you come to class, all will be revealed to you once you are part of the "Maoshan Community."

I hope this post finds all of you in good health!

It did cause some major buzz in the early 2000s with much hostilities due to people faking they were of the Maoshan masters in my  lineage. I am very happy that this post is not generating any buzz😀. It means that those who were faking to be Maoshan no longer exist. I am happy that there is no buzz on this thread.💖👍
