  1. Awakening Psychic Abilities

    egotistical hostile insecurity much?
  2. Involuntary jerking while dozing

William Buhlman had an explanation for this phenomenon in his terrific book "Adventures Beyond The Body - How To Experience Out-Of-Body Travel". He explains that when your consciousness begins to slowly slip into a state of subconscious/unconsciousness (when falling asleep or already sleep), or peak into a state of subconsciousness from unconsciousness deep sleep, a leg or arm of the astral body sometimes 'slips' out of the physical body, thus the violent jerk that your body involuntarily makes in order to realign your astral and physical body.

  4. Edit

That's the thing with Verdessi, he banks all of his advertising on big names and claims, mumbo jumbo. We wouldn't people to find out that they're paying thousands of dollars for exceedingly simple stuff that is actually taught elsewhere for free; internet not excluded.
  5. 3 dantien breathing

you'll explode a heart valve..... lol
  6. Edit

The return of Sean Denty and David Verdessi-Christ!
  7. Beijing?

Hehe, the Chinese government blocking sites is an old thing of theirs. Tiananmen square anyone? That event apparently never existed according to Chinese internet.
  8. Yin/Yang Gong

Yes and Yes. However, I remember back when Sean Denty was saying that David is going to achieve Yin Yang Gong, that it was the same accomplishment as one John Chang, but later refuting and claiming that not only had John Chang reached a different, inferior state of Yin Yang Gong than David, but that he also doesn't even have a developed "Dan Tien". Lol. I'd be wary when reading anything related to or coming out of the Verdesi camp.

What drugs were you addicted to if you don't mind me asking?
  10. A strange psychic visit

Er, forget the fact that I mentioned weed, it's irrelevant, was just an aside; I'm pretty sure people's experiences would've occurred regardless as a result of their training. But yes, I can confirm for you that if you are properly building up energy in the dantien, some crazy stuff will start happening. However, few, very few people know how to properly gather yang qi in the dan tien based on the the vast amounts of practitioners who claim work on the dan tien yet do nothing practical to actually gather the qi.

Erdweir, I cannot thank you enough for sharing your experiences. My similar experiences soon started occurring after taking up Dan Tien breathing meditation. And I do have to agree with your assumption that the herb plays a part in subconscious parts of the brain/spiritual aspects; I'm 19 and have been smoking for two years and have experienced some pretty surreal things while in deep meditation after toking up. This seems like an appropriate thread to ask if anyone else is familiar with what I'm describing: I don't know exactly when I gained this 'ability', but I somehow found that I could manipulate some sort of force located in my head, above ad between the eyes, behind the forehead. I can either contract this 'energy' inward as if compressing, or simply leave it untensed. When doing this in deep meditation, a low buzz soon arises and soon grows much, much louder. For anyone with any personal experience in OBEs, can you explain to me what role this buzzing plays and the subject's apparent ability to control? Along with the buzz, the body itself feels like one completely solid energy mass, feeling every square inch of your body at the same time. If anyone could also tell me how one can achieve the 'pop' that is presumably post-buzz, which leads to OBE (or describe what they have involuntarily experienced pre-OBE), it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the great replies!

UltimateFist I recall having an experience much like those you have described. In fact, you described it pretty much exactly. My condolences on your struggles. I remember after a particularly satisfying 1 hr meditation, I smoked a fat bowl of chronic and passed out on my couch, only to later awake (if that's the proper word?) every muscle seemingly paralyzed but at the same time coursing with (hardened?) energy, my spine was erecting/straightening involuntarily and I heard a jumble of noises, while I can remember gasping/inhaling desperate for air, but most disturbingly I believe that I saw either a dark entity or was just something else; a silhouette like dark form seemingly imprinted on my wall (or so I perceived) I could make out what looked like a wing span, but the entire experience only lasted for about 6-10 seconds. . can anyone make any sense of this? :/
  13. A strange psychic visit

Was there a loud buzzing sound accompanying the energetic sensations? If so you were most likely experiencing the beginning stages of an OBE.
  14. They've been very successful in treating depression, particularly shrooms.
  15. Dan Tien

From everything I have experienced with the Dan Tien, it is in my opinion the focal point of life force (qi) in the human body. (Do animals have a Dan Tien? I'd have to assume so?) I personally think the Dan Tien is key to Inner Alchemy cultivation.
  16. Right then...

Hehe, I was merely stating out the obvious, but of course I am rebutted with the ego card, quite a baseless ego card statement at that =). I don't lose any sleep over people who obsess over Mo Pai in one form more another, be it those who seek or those who try to deter; there's too many on both sides of the spectrum.
  17. Right then...

It's beyond me why Mo Pai internet warriors are so adamant about propagating the Closed Doors policy of the school. Yes, you know how to do some simple meditation of the Mo Pai, yes, you are the chosen one; no one must ever be given the same opportunity you have; join the club but only if recruitment is closed after you! /sigh
  18. I guess that's why Christians call it Church
  19. "Ah, sounds like heaven." Sounds like inevitable implosion. edit: albeit 20 maybe 30 years down the road, I guarantee you will eventually find that you sought the wrong answer to a neglected problem.
  20. Energy of Rice

Why am I not surprised that a self-proclaimed Taoist master is encouraging people to eat rice to "accumulate wealth", since when has material wealth been a goal of Taoists? Guess every club has a crazy.
  21. any1 know any real numerology and whatnot

Probably unrelated to numerology but it always seems like if I check the time at some general AM period it is 9:11 AM, same with checking the time at night... 9:11 PM always seems to be more clock prone than any other time, so weird ;o
  22. Something basic?

Do understand however that some would argue that the difference between philosophical/practical Daoism and religious Daoism are night and day; most of the discussion you will find on this forum is concerning philosophical/practical; the two are pretty distinct.
  23. Once in a while...

Grats goldisheavy, he quoted you " And I saw in a forum post the statement, referring to my writings, "I think his description of the "dark force" is crude and has the nature of a simpleminded comic book story of good vs. evil." " The guy has some interesting things to say, but for the most part, I don't buy into his dark side conspiracy. I also noticed he has no qualms whatsoever with writing endless pages of endless diatribe. (no offense mr. ClarityOB, you seem like a well rounded, intelligent individual if you happen to be reading this, just seems like you have a bit too much time on your hands)
  24. .

Sure . For example, in the Mo Pai nei-dan school there is a very specific sign/experience that occurs when you have fully filled the Dan Tien with Yang chi, there is no missing this. This specific sign would not occur without the Dan Tien being at its full capacity to store chi, thus it is somewhat unique to said practice/other practices that emphasize the Dan Tien, so doing Senior Sunday Tai Chi unfortunately will not bring about this 'confirmatory experience'. I also know of another school that is closely similar to the Mo Pai, except it emphasizes the crown chakra instead of the Dan Tien the most, and puts more emphasis on the other chakras, unlike Mo Pai practice, which affects chakras passively through practice. This school focuses heavily on the function of the third eye, astral projection, and general energy-esoterica. With focus on certain aspects of certain practices, it is my opinion that certain experiences/signs will occur with respect to each practice, which would otherwise be unknown. As I am sure a Kunlun or KAP practitioner may experience specific parallels/signs, a student of Mantak Chia may not (cough cough )There is nothing wrong with this; there should be no bitterness in knowing that you may not experience every possible spiritual signpost/siddhi. However, in terms of non-energy/non-physical signs of progression, I believe any practice which involves calming the mind will induce near-identical, desirable results. I know this may not fit well with those who believe there is truly only one "real/working" practice, thus there must only be a handful of specific signs, but I firmly believe that the possibilities of each practice, deemed worthy or not, are endless in regard to energy development/reaching state(s) of enlightenment.
  25. .

I'd hope that a general sense of happiness/bliss and detachment of the superficial ego would be universal confirmatory signs of the successful practice of any Taoist/Inner Alchemy discipline. However, of course there are going to be different experiences/signs of success for different practices, and, as goldisheavy aptly put it, these experiences/signs could very well be related to successful practice, but might not be interpreted as so in the face of the practitioner, but even quite the opposite. Good luck Tao bums =)
