  1. The spiral motion (of the body) comes from the feet, then onto the legs, then thighs, then the back, and then out the arms. Basically, you twist your whole body. As for the spear, it is the same thing, but you also add the spin to the spear with your arms. It is because of this that the spear is called "The King of Weapons." I'm not sure if I made sense. If you're wondering about the spear motion, take a look at this video I found on YouTube (notice how he spins the spear):
  2. What do you think you need?

Well, I'm talking on the spiritual level. I agree the that the mental (philosophical, knowledge) aspect is important, too. But, let's keep the discussion on the spiritual and celestial level (inner energy level). Now, if you think the above is the first step, then what is the second? Do you guys think it is jing to ch'i conversion? Or purification into Yang? Or do you think it is opening the microcosmic orbit? It would be nice to get all the steps into order. Different schools have different ways, but it would be great to break it down into the general steps for other people to see (and me ).
  3. What do you think you need?

Let's start from the ground. What do you guys think about ch'i cultivation, breathing, and meditation as the first step?
  4. What do you think you need?

As far as I know, becoming a Buddha and entering Nirvana is done while living. If you die having achieved Nirvana, your soul can enter Parinirvana which escapes the cycle of rebirth. By the way, how about just practicing the basics? Nothing complex. Just like simple ch'i gather, Yang conversion, refining, qigong, taiji, and breathing? Then once you have full control and understanding, the path will become open to you. As for opening all channels, won't microcosmic orbit meditation be enough? A martial artist can learn the basics, and the simplest techniques, but with enough experience and cleverness, he can defeat one that knows more than him.
  5. Hi! I was streaming on YouTube and came across these videos of Venerable Master Hsuan Hua. I don't know if it has been posted before, but I hope you guys enjoy this and possibly learn something! Feel free to discuss~
  6. Buddhas, gods, and ghosts

Well, I started this because I thought it would be somewhat beneficial to the community. >: I entered this forum not because of Buddhism but to make observations on Taoist/Chinese immortality methods. ;D For those who want to read on about Venerable Master Hsuan Hua: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hsuan_Hua Well, you might say that Wikipedia is not a reliable source, but I think it is. >
  7. Immortals (Xian Shi)

This is very intriguing. Can you please share more?
  8. I don't know if you have seen this before, but this also talks about 勁: http://www.adamhsu.c...og_FaJing1.html (Part 1) http://www.adamhsu.c...og_FaJing2.html (Part 2)
  9. Immortals (Xian Shi)

It sounds so complicated that I don't even know where to begin. >: Do you think it is good to begin here?: http://internalart.tripod.com/home/immortality.htm
  10. Immortals (Xian Shi)

Eh~ o: What else more is there? Is it also the Taoist diet?
  11. Immortals (Xian Shi)

Is the process just: Proper breathing + qigong + meditation throughout one's lifetime?
  12. Immortals (Xian Shi)

Hm. . . I do understand what you mean. But if a person that is able to control his energy, doesn't that mean he can also morph at will to whatever he wants to be?
  13. Immortals (Xian Shi)

-Raises hand- I have a question. O: Assuming if an individual converted all his energy into Yang and attained the highest level of immortality, how will they be able to come back down to this world? If their consciousness are in their energy, how are they able to see, feel, and do the rest of the senses? Since their body is already converted into energy, they won't have the physical parts that a normal human does, like necessary human organs, and nerves. etc. What are you guy's thoughts on this?
  14. I'm just wondering. . .

So I became interested in immortality and did a little search on the Internet. I came across this video on YouTube and found it interesting. It seemed a little different from the "creating a spiritual body and transfer your consciousness over" type of concept I've been reading about. What do you guys think about it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAnpFHU87Og If this video has been discussed already, then I'm sorry for re-posting it and maybe some of you guys can link me to the thread?
  15. I'm just wondering. . .

I should do more research and practice diligently, so maybe when I get older I will meet a fated teacher!
  16. I'm just wondering. . .

Well, I do go to a kung fu class every Saturday (though I sometimes skip out because I'm a student and have school work to finish) but right now I'm just only learning kung fu basics there. XD I'm still a student so my parents are the ones in control. Do you think horse stance training is also a good way for cultivation?
  17. I'm just wondering. . .

Should I start of with the basic breathing exercises first?
  18. I'm just wondering. . .

http://internalart.tripod.com/home/immortality.htm I wonder if that link is a good site to use for practicing. I think I can learn how to the do qigong and meditation exercises online. What do you guys think?
  19. I'm just wondering. . .

Hm. . . I was thinking of like the nirvanic state-of-mind type of enlightenment.
  20. I'm just wondering. . .

Do you think one can have the body of a Taoist Immortal and the mind of an enlightened Buddha? I mean it sounds like a contradiction because in Buddhism, there is the concept of no-self, but I just want to test it out in this lifetime of mine, being an Enlightened Immortal. XD
  21. I'm just wondering. . .

I also heard that you need to convert all your energy into pure Yang. What's the difference between pure Yang and Yin energy?
  22. I'm just wondering. . .

Hm. . . I understand about transffering our consciousness into a spirit body, but I don't know if our consciousness in a high-vibrating energy can hold. Maybe it's the opposite; like we can still retain consciousness in the freely moving energy and control it?
  23. I'm just wondering. . .

It'd be cool! Even though to reach immortality by changing our vibrations and frequency of our energy, how do we become immortal like that? Do we still have our consciousness in our energy?
  24. I'm just wondering. . .

Is it possible to change our physical features when manifesting a form to appear in the mortal world? It'd be awesome to transform! P.S.: Thanks for introducing me to the books! I was also wondering about online sources. XD
