  1. Oops! Well, the 6 yogas of Naropa are different per se in that they are not the "traditional" Vajrayana of visualizing Vajrasattva & such. This much is true. Besides, Bandhas were first used in "Hindu" circles not Buddhist! (Mohenjo Daro seals show this as fact) Dzogchen, according to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, is NOT a teaching but your real nature. You are not right on about this. I don't know about Mahamudra only that Mahamudra IS our state too. A Tibetan Lama told me this.
  2. Right on Viator. You've brought light to Dr. Steiner's viewpoint. He was never a racist. As a matter of fact, Hitler had him on his "To assasinate" list! It's true. Thanks Stefos
  3. Thank you sir/ma'am/miss for allowing me the right to breathe in that skepticism! Geez....What's up with these freaks who are so bent they can't see Pali Buddhism is not the same as Pure Land. Buddhist fanatics!
  4. No, thanks for your advice. Dzogchen is correct in stating self liberation of thought & emotion & emptiness. This is quite true. It's the "primordially pure from the beginning" part that I have a problem with. Pali Buddhism doesn't posit Nibbana as such but states that Nibbana is free of conditioned consciousness. Krishnamurti also stated self liberation, he called it Choiceless Awareness & he didn't follow Dzogchen. Neither was he a Buddhist! Krishnamurti also stated emptiness too! You might want to pick up his "The wholeness of life" as it is very Buddhist in nature. Again, Dzogchen is our nature & not a "system" to be practiced. So be it, Stefos
  5. The Theras would disagree with you. Face that fact. Stefos
  6. It seems that you have never had perceived what I have. I posted an experience of mine in the occult section. I don't think you care for me as a person at all but rather your arrogance & brazenness are shameful. Why don't you stop & check your ridiculous statement to me along with the words used? Stefos P.S. A moderator has been made aware of your post dear ol' buddy!
  7. If you examine the Vedas, they point to the Upanishads. The Upanishads point to Brahman, not Tantra. Realizing Brahman is liberation. Why are you interested in Tantric systems? For the betterment of everyone or for power/self control for yourself exclusively? This question of mine merits an answer....the right answer. Stefos
  8. No man...They aren't bro. There are "Tantras" which are books & then there is Tantra which is "Hindu" per se as it deals with energy flow primarily & Buddhist i.e. Vajrayana which deals with energy flow primarily If you listen to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, he says: 1. Theravada is a Hinayana vehicle, one of many 2. Vajrayana, in and of itself, deals with energy: Chakras, Nadis, Prana, Bindu....No Bhandas are used in Vajrayana 3. Dzogchen is your ultimate nature not a teaching! You've made scrambled eggs out of the whole deal brotherman. Stefos
  9. Advaita Vedanta vs Buddhism

Guru Norbu recently said that "Dzogchen is the combination/mix "I forgot exactly" of Kadag & Lhun grub. If people ask, then you explain." Just heard him on a sweet closed retreat. Stefos
  10. Advaita Vedanta vs Buddhism

Monktastic....you da' man. By the way, I have received transmission through Guru Namkhai Norbu....He's my root teacher.....OHHH yeah. Bye, Stefos
  11. Sir, ma'am, miss.......Excuse me. I'm not here claiming to be anyone but a human being. I never stated that I'm superior nor inferred such either. I only asked a question. Why did you feel the need to "emotionalize" your question towards me with pushiness & angst? Please, I'm here to ask and share when possible...that's all. God bless you buddy, Stefos
  12. Thank you sir...I assume...for your insights. Dr. Steiner, to me, spoke out of his experience which was real, not imagined. I'm not saying he was infallible but I deeply believe that he spoke the truth. I don't detect/perceive any nonsense with him. I've never heard ANYTHING bad about him either....anywhere. THIS is rare indeed. Regards, Stefos
  13. Hi everyone, Something very interesting since I last posted has happened to me. An understanding about Advaita Vedanta & Dzogchen: If one reads Sir Nisargadatta's "I AM THAT" and Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings, etc. and compares with what Dzogchen teachings say one finds 3 similar things, when all is boiled down, so to speak (Each way doesn't use the lingo of the other, it's just given to express the sameness): 1. Non-duality 2. Sat-Chit-Anand OR Emptiness-Clarity-Energy 3. Self Liberating thoughts...which is neither replacing one thought with another nor transforming them into something else vis a vis Tantric visualization(s) Comments? Thank you, Stefos
  14. Yes, it is and Chogyal Namkhai Norbu mentions this in passing only. They aren't the same. Stefos
  15. No, tantric systems aren' t the pinnacle. In Tibetan Buddhism, Dzogchen & Mahamudra are. In Vedanta, Advaita Vedanta is. What are you talking about? In my experience most people who like tantra WANT the tantric freakishness & weirdness. It becomes their "identity" and their fixation/obsession. "Ooooo, I can drink nectar from kapalas!!" "Oh, I can do strange things & immoral things & be o.k. because I'm a tantric." Most westerners don't know what tantra is.....Forget Advaita Vedanta or Dzogchen or Mahamudra....Go, ask & see. Right. Stefos
  16. Hi everyone, I have a BUNCH of books by Swami Satyananda Saraswati & Swami Niranjananda Saraswati & the Prasthanathraya done by Swmai Sivananda Saraswati. I respect the Dashnami Sanyasin order quite a bit due to what I've read as I've had no contact regarding them. My question is two-fold: My understanding is the Dashanami Sanyasin order was started by Sankaracharya. Is there a regular (non-sexual contact) Sanyasin & a Householder Sanyasin? Why is there emphasis put on Sanyasins when Sri Ramana Maharshi & Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj & his guru never mention being a Sanyasin? The commentary of Sankaracharya on the Isa Upanishad states that rites, rituals mean zero insofar as Brahman is concerned. Yet I think see rituals being performed by the Dashnami order such as Yajna's & Agni Hotras. Could someone clarify this for me please? I think I'm off base somewhere...hope I'm not AWOL..lol!! Thank you, stefos
  17. Hi everyone, Any deeper insights please? Thanks, stefos
  18. Great.....Can someone, perhaps you!!!!, answer my question then? Why would the TBOTD say to "unite" Mahamudra & Dzogchen then? Anyone??? My kingdom for a horse!!!!! stefos
  19. Thank you! Is this so? How does the Cittamatrin school exactly fit here? I have read some of its' view and is similar to Dzogchen, per se. Regards, stefos
  20. Some recent insights

    OUUuuuuuu.........nice. Thank you Stefos
  21. I used to think that "self liberating thoughts" was ONLY a "Dzogchen thing." When I read Sri Nisargadatta primarily & now Sri Ramana......I can't believe I missed it. Very interesting........and very useful in day to day affairs.......avoiding the formation of samskaras. Stefos
  22. Hi everyone, I put this here to show the comparisons and NOT to debate. O.K???? Are we clear about my intent? The bottom line is: Why not be in that state or be that? Stop arguing..........it's childish. Mods, don't lock this thread please! Stefos
  23. Unfabricated "presence" per se is an immediate reality, as Vajrayana doesn't accept this presence unless you refer to Mahamudra, which is a "gradual reality"... To me, How does one see one's presence 'gradually?"...Seems ridiculous. I don't like the statement "I gradually come to presence." Mahamudra is strange & incorrect to me at my present level of having zero experience with it. Advaitins having satsang is not true "in and of itself".... REAL SATsang is being the Self, not "hanging with noble peeps" as it were. Non-conceptual being is the SELF......Beyond mental concepts. What pray tell is this about? Agree, Don't agree with me..........Can you elaborate? ... Thanks, Stefos
  24. Hi Dwai, Perhaps in the future sir/ma'am, you can give us a link with English subtitles. I understand nothing of what is being said except for a few words. Namaste, Stefos

TI....What's up man? Look, um...what dzogchen based teachings were you given? Who is your root guru..(Dzogchen that is)? I was given Transmission by Sweet Guru Namkhai Norbu. I've never heard of the Kati crystal channel...Is this from Bon? Please share with a Vajra Brother. Right on man! I'm doing pranams on the inside right now. Jesus IS the ultimate Dzogchen master....The Father & Him are one.... Demons (evil spirits that Is) are B.A.D. news brother....I went thru demonic oppression..Pray to God you never do... It's real and it sucked. That's also the reason why we do Sinhamukha & Guru Dragphur practice....Dang, I need to be at Tsegyalgar East, this stinks having no Vajra Sangha around Stefos......A Vajra brother via transmission from Guru Norbu Rinpoche...my sweet Root Guru
