  1. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

I am enjoying these questions and answers. The people on this blog have well developed minds. I like Sifu Garry's question to Antares which is also a question to all of us. Why are we doing chi kung, what are we seeking? And the perfect answer belongs to Antares when he said, "happiness". That was my reason for starting on the path 40 yrs ago and that is my reason for still treading the path. There is no end to the levels of happiness. I do chi kung for the same reason I do TM, evolution of Consciousness which has unlimited levels. I am grateful for the FP and the SYG meditations that have been released to us. I do not mind not having what else is out there. I have more than enough to master from what I now have. This is powerful healing energy and our nervous systems have to take it in gradually. We will all get there when we get there. I figure that I have what I am equipped to handle. I don't ask for seconds at meals when there is still food left on my plate.

I think the confusion was all mine. I'm just relieved it is all cleared up now and I do appreciate how active you are on this blog. It makes a big difference. I am trying to understand what is the difference between SYG and Flying Phoenix? They seem so similar to me. Yet I realize there is a different feel to the energies from each of those 2 systems.
  3. Is John Chang really that hard to find and train with?

About post #18: Yes levitation is part of what can be learned from the Vedas of India if you have the right guru. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the 1970's created an advanced method to Transcendental Meditation called the TM Siddhi program. It includes the correct way to levitate using Patanjali's Yoga Sutras which have been missing the secret simple method that makes the sutras work! Maharishi restored this once lost method to its full glory. I went into a state of enlightenment when I was initiated into the Siddhis that night in 1977. In 1977 I spent the entire summer on a special project with 3,000 people doing the Siddhis program in one location at Amherst, MA and I can tell you that levitation is possible. Everyone was doing the first stage of levitation which is hopping like a frog. I should say almost everyone. The levitation sutra has never worked for me, sorry to say. We have to learn to stop judging from our limited thinking, and instead determine for yourself what is true or not from your own experiences. Seeing is believing!

Really good news mates! Sifu Garry just texted that he is at work so he asked me to post this from him: SYG breathing is done the same way as that of Flying Phoenix breathing. That ends all confusion!!! Thank you Sifu Garry.
  5. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

I just reread all that I have from Sifu Garry about how to do the breathing and can see that I confused myself. The breathing sequence is done the same way as with FP. I had read an earlier post from someone who was confused about the breathing and then I started to question it too and just got confused. Sorry if I have confuses the rest of you guys. I am going back now to doing the breathing for SYG just the way it is done with FP unless I should hear otherwise from Sifu Garry.

I see what Sifu Garry meant when he said with SYG you want to just stay in the meditation. I was just doing the second med on SYG 1. and since I am on vacation all week I have no time constraints so as the energy kept building in my palms I just enjoyed staying with it and felt sorry that it was time to end it in order to move on to the next one.

Sifu Garry: this means that this breathing is done differently than we do in FP? Let us say if it is 50-20 for SYG. We do start with one breath in and out, then breath in to top, let out 50%, breathe in 50%, let it all out. Then breath in to the top and then let it all out, then breath in to top and then let 20 out,, in 20 and then let it all out, then finish with all the way to the top and then exhale? This is getting confusing.

Sifu Garry, thanks for showing us the correct speed as Sifu Terry calls, "moving at the speed of a shifting sand dune."
  9. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

To the earlier post about TM not working after 3 yrs. It actually is that for the past 3 yrs it has not worked like it did for the previous 37 yrs of daily practice. TMers understand huge blocks of stress can prevent transcending thoughts and thus prevent reaching those deep levels of relaxation. I hope that SYG can help release this stress so that the TM mediation works once again.

By the way Anatares, last year I did one of the advanced FP meds from GM Doo Wai dvd and I was warned ahead of time not to do this by my medical clairvoyant who tested the dvd. He said it was so powerful and my nervous system was not yet ready for that strong energy. He was right. I tried one meditation twice and I had so much trouble falling asleep that I never tried it again. I am having no problems with the SYG. In fact, I did most of the SYG last night right before bed and I went right to sleep.

My medical clairvoyant echoes Sifu Garry's claims for SYG, he said it is extremely powerful, his exact words. My own experience with SYG after just one week is that it is indeed powerful. I seldom can sense subtle energies except for Reiki and FP in the hands, but I can feel a strong energy from SYG, especially meditations 5 and 6 that really work on the heart chakra. It would be hard to miss that energy. To answer the question about doing vol. 7 of FP, I do the med for energy and the med for deep sleep on that volume and the 60 70 40 5 if there is time. But my priority now is SYG. On the 690 AD there is a unique breathing sequence since for the standing static meds you only do one breathing sequence before the first one and it lasts thru the rest of the meds. It is a really long one but easily memorized. Very strong energy from 690 AD. Different feel to it than the soft, gentle energy of FP. And FP is not purely medical chi kung at all. It opens spiritual centers. It works on all levels.

Antares, I'm in agreement, too much to do and too little time unless one is retired or unemployed. So I now do select Flying Phoenix meds and all of the SYG 1. The SYG is more powerful than FP. I also do a dvd from GM Doo Wai of powerful static standing meds which on the dvd he states they are better than FP. My medical intuitive tested them and told me to stop the FP and do the Doo Wai. These meds were part of his family lineage since 690 AD when his ancestors were the physicians to the Emperors of China.

yes, that is what Fo Ti is known as. I stopped taking it after two different attempts as it seems to cause a diuretic effect.

Sifu Garry, I have read where Fo Ti is an herb that many have taken who practice chi kung. Do you have any thoughts about this herb?

Since there is some clarification going on here lately I want to add that yoga is not "Hindu". Hindu is a watered down version of an exact science of life called Veda which is where yoga comes from. Yoga in Sanskrit means yoke, to be united with Supreme Consciousness, to be One, the Tao. The Vedas are cognized via hymms which are vibrations, sounds which manifest in consciousness into forms which are formulas for right balance in order to become enlightened. The Vedas are heard by Seers or Rishis at the beginning of each creation of the earth. Hinduism is a weak, somewhat distorted version of the vedas due to people teaching the teachings who are not in an enlightened state of Consciousness so they interpret the scriptures only from their limited state of consciousness. The world is as we are. The blind leading the blind. I don't think Taoism is about theory. It is about experience these states and then we can talk about it in theory which comes from experience, without that there is no understanding of these principles. Just parrots mimicking words.

I would very much like to hear about the standing SYG meds although allotting time for even more chi gung practice would be a challenge.

Eugene: don't worry about only feeling chi in your hands from FP as I have been doing it for over one and a half years now and that is only where I feel the chi but that does not mean it is not having its healing effects on all levels, cellular, organs, brain, subtle bodies, chakras, higher dimensions. I would not judge progress by where we feel the chi. I too need less sleep now and notice my intuition keeps increasing and there are more synchronicities going on and I can manifest desires more quickly. And I don't see any problems doing FP and SYG. But we are of the instant generation. Want faster and faster downloads just like with computers. I see this in myself very clearly. Keep on cultivating the garden, the karmas are being burned just like weeds.
  18. SUNN YEE GONG - COMMENTS ATTAINMENTS?

Sifu Garry, Thanks for post #180 as you just answered the question Sifu Terry suggested that I ask you since my Transcendental Meditation used to automatically take me close to the void and when stress release from my nervous system for past 3 yrs has kept me on the surface during TM I no longer get close to the void/Source/emptiness any longer. So I was to ask you which of your systems would be effective for getting back to that state which in TM we called Restful Alertness. Mind and body relaxed and no thoughts, or at least very few and far between. Sounds like you are saying that over time SYG 1. will be the ticket to get back there.

Yes Ron, I can identify with that feeling that something is about to bust loose as that energy continues to build and you are tempted to just stay on that ride as long as possible to see where you end up. I guess this is proof that the energy is cumulative.

A few nights ago I was doing some energy work which I usually do not do close to bedtime but that is when I had to do it bc it was an online energy transmission. I always try to do the Big Sleeper on FP vol. before bed but that night I was just too tired so I went to bed without. I went to bed but was unable to fall asleep which is very rare, so after a long time of this I just sat up and did 50 20 10 and that is all I remember since when I finished I went right to sleep. I'm glad there is always a yin for every yang!

"Longer the better" on SYG 1. med 5 resulted in continuous building up of energy and stronger quivering in upraised hand and also nice strong chi in the bottom palm. A very nice workout for the heart chakra as it has its blockages of stress being removed from this mudra per my medical clairvoyant. I also found meditation 6 to also be a high strong build up of energy and could feel it not only in the chest but in the teeth/mouth also. Really enjoyable ride. In gratitude to the lineage.
  22. Your favorite Qigong DVDs?

I have been doing Spring Forest for 6 yrs because we do that at work as part of our mental health center. It is easy to do and you can soon feel chi from it but it does not compare to Flying Phoenix in terms of feeling more powerful chi and the benefits at all levels.
  23. Is John Chang really that hard to find and train with?

About Chunyi Lin. I received training in Spring Forest Chi Kung from Chunyi at a workshop for psychotherapists in Washington, DC 6 years ago. He asked people to stand up who had an ailment and he then diagnosed each person telling them where their health issue was located. Later, when asked how he did it, he said that chi kung opens the third eye. He is very down to earth and just acts like a regular guy with a good sense of humor.

To answer the question about mantras for the deity. I come from a Vedic tradition where our meditation is based on mantras which means the benefits to mind body spirit come from a vibration/energy which purifies the nervous system. The mantra is the medium for that vibratory energy which is ultimately Divine in essence and source. Flying Phoenix is Heavenly Healing Method. So I think there is no need to add a mantra when the FP meditations already produce the vibration/energy associated with Spiritual healing which to me is all inclusive of mind body spirit. The song comes to mind, "Who Could Ask for Anything More?"
