  1. Will Power

That was impeccably raw. I loved it. It certainly plucked some deeper chords. preciate it
  2. Will Power

I have been interested in strengthening my will lately and found this post. In my opinion your will power is the ability to manifest your desires. The stronger your will power then the higher you will soar in our society. The richest and the most "successful" tend to have the strongest of will powers. One problem with our society is that it eludes that all-important question of what we are, which is what should dictate our actions. But because we are always focused on some task or goal, we will never even address that question! Going about attempting to attain our prize without solving the preliminary step.. This "tree-stump" dude nailed it on the head. I am in college and the only way to get all of my work done (engineering) is to whole-heartedly fixate my mind upon my task. In an effort to evade my fear of not-existing I am concentrating upon whatever it is I am doing. Atleast I will be getting good grades!!! woooot Will-power! IGNORE THE QUESTION
  3. Essence Over-Exchange

Hello, I am looking for advice/help with respect to my relationship with my girlfriend. Her and I have been seeing each other for about a year (I am 20, she is 21) and have recently run into trouble. Somehow I believe we have improperly exchanged male and female essence resulting in an unbalanced and unhealthy ratio in both her and I. Our sex life was always great but it has petered out over the past month and we have not had sex in a week. We were talking about our sexual relationship today and neither of feel healthy about it. There was not even enough attraction today to make love even after a week of abstaining. We both have what seems to be too much of the opposite sex within our psyche. I was meditating today and felt as though half of my energetic body was female. I have been feeling off for a while and acknowledging this made me feel at peace, but I do not think this is right for it seems unnatural. She said she felt like she looked manly the other day and I swear looking in the mirror today my face appeared feminine. We both feel lethargic, energy-less and do not know what to do. We both admitted that we have even been having some homosexual feelings recently and have never felt like this before. Possibly attracted to the sexual energy that we need? Is this reversible? Neither of us planned for this to happen nor truly desired it. I must right this. She was so upset today I just can not take it. This is hard to write and I humbly ask for any help that you can offer. I have no idea what this is and have not heard of something like this. Thank you, theNERD
  4. Essence Over-Exchange

No she does not. She has started to meditate recently but nothing serious at all. I agree with the minimization of energy exchange because that does seem to be where trouble can start to bubble forth. thanks for the solid advice The heart centered love-making is where some of our best times have come from. I think I will be trying to spend my time there when with her thanks!
  5. Essence Over-Exchange

hahhaha nice. And by sex I mean mostly genital centric sex. We have performed karezza a decent amount of times with a few great sessions but never got into a solid period of consistently attempting it. Could you elaborate on emotion sex. what is this? theNERD
  6. Essence Over-Exchange

Thank you very much Jetsun. I think that may actually help because believe it or not we never fight fight. Maybe that lack of resistance, although it has created an easygoing relationship, has caused us to blend too much. I will pass this idea on to my girlfriend, I think it has much promise. theNERD
  7. Essence Over-Exchange

I lift heavy about twice a week. It's been tougher recently feeling like a fukn sally.. I also have read the way of the superior man, thank you for the suggestion. I am looking more for advice as to what we should do as a couple? Abstain from sex until we feel normal again? Force ourselves to copulate and try to give back the opposite? truly confused.. theNERD
  8. Secret of the Golden Flower

"The reason for "turning the light around" is to recover this source progenitor of objective awareness to use the light to see delusion. Creation itself is delusion. It has form but no inherent reality. The absolute is itself the source of awareness. It is utterly immaterial, yet real. The Heart Sutra states, "Form is formless; formlessness is form." I really like this So all there is to do is rest in objective awareness, for what else should I seek? hehehehe I deserved that I need to make more sane decisions in my life... thank you very much for your reply I truly appreciate it!! theNERD
  9. Secret of the Golden Flower

Hello Deci Belle, "The secret of the golden flower is turning the light of creation itself around so as to illuminate its source. The term "turning the light around" is attributed to the adept Wenshi." Is the basic premise to maintain awareness upon where your very own awareness is coming from? (IME an area behind the eyes and slightly lower than them, possibly the pineal gland?) And then to maintain your awareness upon that source throughout your daily experiences? This would align itself with other writings that tell you to never lose the "source progenitor". In this way a person seems to be able to elevate themselves above the situation entirely and address people from THE NEXT LEVEL I am wondering because isn't a main taoist theme to maintain your awareness within your LDT and for me the turning around of the light seems to keep my attention in my head. Then again I may have it all wrong Also I am excited to see this thread emerge because I just bought the book 2 days ago! But apparently y'all are telling me the Wilhelm version is not nearly as good as Cleary's and of course I bought the WIlhelm... Thanks, theNERD

  12. Experience vs. Memory

I think that you guys will get a kick out of this. Daniel Kahneman describes individuals as having two seperate selves. The experiencing self and the memory self. He talks about a significant difference between being happy IN your life vs. being happy ABOUT your life. They are distinctly different. People associate far too much with the story of their lives rather than their life as it is experienced. check it out baby http://www.ted.com/talks/daniel_kahneman_the_riddle_of_experience_vs_memory.html Peace and Lurv, theNERD
  13. Experience vs. Memory

"I suppose its a bit like discovering the truth... some find an error and avoid it while some stay and fixing it..." The problem is there and people love to just cover it up. Or even ignore the question all together.. What am I? Delve into the moment and find out

  15. Nei Yeh CHAPTER 18

"If with this good flow of vital energy you encounter others, They will be kinder to you than your own brethren. But, if with a bad flow of vital energy you encounter others, They will harm you with their weapons." I really like this part of the chapter In my own experience as I still my mind I need less and less help from thoughts and other people trying to figure out what kind of a person someone is. You can just tell, it is a feeling/knowing that is there but not normally picked up. I know this is an old thread but whattup, the Nei-yeh seems very interesting theNERD

Friends are for the weak. Those destined for the peaks walk it alone.

  18. Repressed feelings coming to the surface as a result of meditation?

Hello T.S. I think the scariest part of going within is finding out how little you may actually know about yourself. One must learn to practice equanimity in all situations or you will allow these dark feelings and emotions to overtake you. This has helped me to get through repressed feelings and enter into subconscious parts of myself that I may never have known existed. It is described in the book The Master Game by Robert S. de Ropp. He calls it the inner film or something along those lines. First you should go within yourself as deep as you feel comfortable. Then you imagine a sort of screen in the field of your vision. From there all you have to do is wait After a while some faint image or scene will enter your awareness and you must objectively observe it. No matter what it is! If you become scared when it first comes up this is good! It means you are onto some deep shit and you must continue to focus on it The key is to remain an observer and nothing more. In this way you can begin to integrate aspects of your subconscious mind into your conscious mind and learn who you truly are on a deeper level. I wish you the best of luck theNERD
  19. Numbness of Inner Space

Hello Wise Bums, I am in need of some help and as usual I turn to the internet Recently I have self diagnosed a problem within myself but am not sure what the cause / treatment could possibly be. In meditation I realized that the right half of my body seems to lack a quality of inner space to it. It is as if I have been residing in only the left half of myself without even realizing that I wasn't completely within. It has also been throwing off my inner sense, and when I would go to focus on a dan tien they were extremely hard to find because instead of being in the center line of my being they were on my right peripheral. I have just recognized it as almost a numbing of inner space where before it seemed to have been almost unconscious that that area wasn't even occupied by my awareness. I began consciously bringing my focus into my right half and it seems to have a balancing effect but when I am not actively doing this I lose that balance. Has anyone ever heard of someone losing inner sense / does anyone have a recommendation for what I could do? Any help would be greatly appreciated, peace and love theNERD
  20. Phlegm; To swallow or not?

Just a quick question folks, is phlegm considered jing or no? I stopped spitting my saliva out a while ago but have continued to spit all my darn loogies (I hack up a decent amount...) Is it just waste or should it be kept within the body? Thanks yall theNERD
  21. Phlegm; To swallow or not?

hahahahahaha Thank you for this helpful knowledge, honestly I smoke weed and I am pretty sure this is where most of it comes from. I have cut back dramatically and the phlegm has decreased. So yes this is the lifestyle habit that I need to change... peace and love theNERD
  22. Phlegm; To swallow or not?

Thanks for the responses, and that is the same action I take when it comes up. Seems to feel like it is the body getting rid of something that doesn't need to be there.
  23. Very interesting when he brings up the prostaglandin loss from ejaculation. Apparently they regulate blood pressure annd intra-ocular pressure. I have been holding in for a while and could have sworn my eyes felt extra juicy this morning when I woke up theNERD
  24. This is an amazing interview with Terence Mckenna that I thought you guys would like. He gets into discussing the I ching at about 10 minutes or so. "Nature abhors habit" The best way to align yourself with nature is to live from the present, where your decisions are freed from preconception and labels. Liberation = Freedom from the habitual response patterns of the conditioned mind. theNERD
  25. Terence Mckenna, The I Ching, and the changes we will face

At this point I have no clue what Christian has said so I have nothing to comment on there... Thank you for the reference to Carl Johan Calleman I'm going to have to check out his writings, I don't know two cents about the Mayan Calendar but am very interested. Anamatva what is your opinion on the upcoming December, do you think there are changes in store for us? At least any sudden kinds?
