  1. Feeling that power can still trigger a 'flinch' effect, or a pulling away, but it is fleeting and passes quickly into putting full awareness into the situation, rather than having my circuits overloaded and shutting down.

Is that the feeling that suddenly the floor disappearing under your feet? Or riding a elevator down and down, the feeling of sinking?

Have you tried to "look up" to let the "ligtht" infuse the "flinch" feeling?

  2. Ok I have experimented on myself for a while and I wanted to know what you thought of my notes. I am on my phone so it won't be as detailed if you need further explanation please ask..

    1. A vegetable based diet

    2. Meditating on mind control or thought control

    3. Mco

    4. After you feel the energy compress it and pack it

    5. Full locust to increase energy and pack still.

My main goal is to store energy uh what I would like is feed back on storing the energy not looking for abilities I just want a reservoir of energy and a peace of mind that's all.

    So

If you have any more things you'd like to add please do or need me to elaborate on ask.

    The means is the end.

Your plan is as good as any. So long you enjoy doing it and it makes you feel good, you're fine.

    Be good and enjoy life.

  3. If your meridine channels are not open enough or you're not very flexible, it's very hard to get into the "correct" position.

Due to my shoulder blockage, though I cleared it so much already, I found it tough to get qi flow to my hands in the basic hands down Z.Z. position. The Tai chi hands, golden bridge hands and a few hands mantras actually help the qi flow much better.

I suggest you start with one leg Z.Z. (the roost standing on one leg in Tai Chi) or Tree poster in yogi.

  4. I celebrated prematurely. I thought the painful part was over. I was wrong. The more painful part was about to begin.

Since the first connection, the rest of body wanted to be connected. I didn't realize there were so many kinks, pain points and dead zones in my upper body. I did a period of agressive clean up.

I did three to four hours of various movement, stretch/twist, self-massage before bed. The next morning, the stretch out body parts shrinked a little. The bonea, tendons and ligaments were in wrong places. The nerves were pinched every where. It was painful.

Sometimes, the pain woke me up during sleep. Once I was woken by weeping noise, I realized it was my body crying. What a wimp! I kept going.

My body finally got enough. It came in my dream to pleading with me. It showed up in a bloddy mess, the shoulder was torn open with intruding bones. I eased up a few days.

I feel much better now. I wake up in morning without too much pain.

With the improvement, I can enjoy something that you normal flexible guys take for granted: drop shoulder, round chest, connect tan tien to Laogong.

No more chips on my shoulder. :)

  5. It comes down to this " transformed people transform people."

Who transformed Buddha? Who transformed Jesus? Who transformed La Tzu?

No body can transform you but yourself.

A philosopher is not different than a mathematicin or a butcher or a foot ball player about understanding of Tao.

  6. This came up in The Pit. We're talking about the lower dan tien, the hara, belly area.

What is it? How physical is it? How physical is the location?

In Ki-aikido, my main art, it was a center of focus and balance, it shifted depending on our physical stance. In chi gung descriptions its been in roughly the same spot, an inch or two under the belly button, considered a chakra and/ or storage area. Being energetic I never thought of as physical with an exact physical location.

I'd like to find out what others think. What are your thoughts?

    Can you clarify your question?

What do you mean by "physical"?

Did electricity "physical" exist before we figure out how to measure it? Did bacteria "physical" exist before we have miscroscope?

  7. A lion kills its prey quickly. A domesticated cat tortures and plays with its prey. Why? Dunno.

Where did you get the assertion that "a lion kills its prey quickly"?

I watched the discovery channel a few times. In one nature show, a pride of lions captured a small animal. The adults formed a big circle to prevent the animal escape. The cubs then practice how to chase and tackle the animal down. When the small animal run away from the cubs, the big lion would block its escape route and force the animal back into the center of the torture circle.

Have you ever encoutnered a lion in the wild? I guess not. Me either.

So we're no lion expert. Probably we should forget the whole lion metaphor. :)

  8. Messages are powerful things. It has been scientifically proven that a plant with the word "Love" taped to its container will grow much healthier and fuller as opposed to a plant with the word "Hate" taped to it...which will not be too healthy at all. Given the exact same growing conditions.

Interesting experiment. Do you have a link to this? Thanks.

I just wonder if the word "love" and "hate" are visible to oboservers in the experiment. Did they do a bouble blind experiment, i.e. the word "love" and "hate" are unknown to the guy who conduct the experiment?

I don't believe that plants know the meaning of the words. I think the observers around the plant read the word, and project the resonate energy to the plants, such effect the grows of the plants.

We're the "co-creator" of the world, it makes sense that our emotion effect our environment.

    Back to top:

The inner smile is the fundation.

The genuine belly laugh is more effective than MCO in most cases.

  9. So I was sick for two days and after that with a minor sickness(sneezing, cough, hard to concentrate) a week or two. Felt like a novel experience since I haven't really been sick for some years. During that time I stopped almost all of my physical and meditation practices, and started getting back to "mindless entertainment"(gaming really) that I thought I'd never get back into again. Afterwards it felt like I've been set back more than I expected. I've only been back to decent routine now for a few days.

The mindless entertainment is OK. Gaming is OK. The "real" life is nothing but a game for our entertainment purpose.

The problem is you feel "bad" afterwards. Maybe you should look at new ways to play the game so you feel great afterwards.

It's not what you do. It's how you do it with what attitude.

When I get sick, I tend to curse "God" first. I'd call him all kind of bad names. After the burst of anger, I'm tired. I lie on the bed and gaze the ceiling for hours.

  10. To start off, I mean no offense to anyone, their practice(s),goals and beliefs. I'm simply interested in why so many here on TTB will practice a system but then mainly dwell on the theoretical and philosophical aspects of Taoism, while not truly "diving in" on the actual qi gong/nei gong aspects which has enormous potential for so many things.

Sry, I didn't find your post about how you "diving in" on the actual qi qong aspects. Where is it?

  11. Hi Adam,

Thanks again for your thoughts. I am less concerned with neutrality aspect than the theoretical "free will" and unintended effect aspect to the person being helped.

    Best,

    Jeff

I believe that Adam's ability to feel the pain for the lady, to sympathize with her, the intent to help her improved the situation.

Adam is a good guy and did the right thing.

The act of "correction" is just a flare part of Adam. Who cares how he did it. All I know is that he helped the old lady.

    Regards

  12. Hehehe. When you get ready to join me in this beautiful reality that I am living in let me know and I will put you on the right path but you will have to do the walking.

Home is where the heart is. Somebody else said that before I did but I liked it so much I took it into my inner essence.

But more honestly, for me, home is wherever I am. If where I am doesn't feel like home I move.

Sure that's the first step. I hope I'll be there someday.

Wait, I like where I am now. Thanks for the invitation though.

I don't care about either I'm sleeping or I'm awake too much. If I enjoy my state of being, who cares how to name that state.

The next step is pure speculation on my part. "Wherever I'm, I make it home"

  13. Hehehe. I'm not going to suggest that the wait might have something to do with freezing and hell.

For you if you're a bad boy. :)

I'll be enlighted and become the toast of the town. I'd intrinsiclly (I like big word though I can't spell it right) know the mystery of the world. Everything will be fine and dandy.

The enlightment is my savior. I'm waiting faithfully.

  14. I'm new to this path. I've always tried to live a centered life but came about it from a different direction. My mantra for several years, in the face of adversity, has been "it is what it is" and that is apparently very Dao.

I think you've got one of the first step of Tao already.

    Good luck on your path.

  15. I gather those two fine gentlemen were more interested in showing you how to get there than spending their team telling you about how cool it is while you're getting there.

I don't think anyone has ever "get" there. The Tao is "unborn". How can you get somewhere which does not exist yet?

    "The means is the end."

If "everything is illusion", then illusion is all you have.

So long you enjoy the journey, it doesn't matter much. Wherever you are, God/Tao is with you.

  16. Hydrogen , do you drink alcohol? How does it go for you?

I was "traumatized" by alcohol at age five. I promised that I'd never get drunk again. The only other time I got drunk ever was at my brother's engagement party in a Mongolian tent with roasted whole lamp and local liquor.

I'm a social drinker, a beer or a glass of wine enough for me. I was interested in wine tasting for a few years and did some promotional tasting events at local liquore stores.

In a period of high engery running inside me, I found that a glass of wine could boost my blood circulation which helped my meditation. I could easily convert the heat into something useful. It just happened natrually.

Now, I can't do it consistently. I have too many things to work on. I don't have time to experiment with alcohol.

I hope someone knows how gives us some pointers.

  17. The Chinese legend says that the alcohol is the drink of immortarls. The belief is so strong that the ability to handle large amount of liquor is much admired.

There are many folklores about Chinese martial masters and alcohol.

Once upon a time, in a remote moutain, three martial art schools claimed to be the superium. They decided to settle the dispute on a drinking contest.

On the day of contest, three rows of eighteen big clay pot of the most fierce local liquor were in the center stage.

The yogis stepped out first. He lifted the huge pot with both of his hands and poured the liquor down his throat, then smashed the clay pot on his head. In the same fashion he finished eighteen pot of hard liquor. At the end, he opened his mouth and did a lion roar. The whole foret was shaking. All the people in the path of his breath fell down to ground due to the alcohol in his breath.

The monk said "well done" and began his drinking. He throwed the pot high up in the air. The liquor fell down from sky. The monk opened his mouth to catch every single drop. He caught the falling pot with his feet and put it back where it was with grace. At the end, he sat in full lotus. The steam came out from top of his head. All the birds in the sky fell down because the alcohol in his steam.

The toaist said "impressive" and began his performance. He walked up to the clay pot. He opened his mouth standing up. The liquor was sucked into mouth. When the pot was empty. He kicked the pot into air and land on top of the other empty pot. At the end all the eighteen pots was stacked up sky high. He jumped on the top of the pot, made a sword finger, the liquid was shot out his finger into the the empty pot. The liquid dripped down and filled all eighteen pots. People tasted the liquid. It was pure water.

That was a real internal chemist: alchemist.
