  1. The Philosopher's Tao

Can you do something about it? You might be in a position to figure out a new way to treat the mental illness patients. Working inside an organization is easier to change it than someone from outside.
  2. ...

Interesting verse. The bible has similar concept. "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."
  3. Fear

Is that the feeling that suddenly the floor disappearing under your feet? Or riding a elevator down and down, the feeling of sinking? Have you tried to "look up" to let the "ligtht" infuse the "flinch" feeling?
  4. I'm glad that you've found your path. Three is a stable struture.
  5. Question on a path

The means is the end. Your plan is as good as any. So long you enjoy doing it and it makes you feel good, you're fine. Be good and enjoy life.
  6. Chronic fatigue from doing qigong

Maybe you should pay Sifu Jenny the money to clear out the entity inside you. You seem to have more personalities than you can handle. Good luck.
  7. Zhan Zhuang as meditation during puja.

If your meridine channels are not open enough or you're not very flexible, it's very hard to get into the "correct" position. Due to my shoulder blockage, though I cleared it so much already, I found it tough to get qi flow to my hands in the basic hands down Z.Z. position. The Tai chi hands, golden bridge hands and a few hands mantras actually help the qi flow much better. I suggest you start with one leg Z.Z. (the roost standing on one leg in Tai Chi) or Tree poster in yogi.
  8. This post is a feel good self congratulation disguised as helpful information. Finally I can feel the qi flowing from my neck down to the tip of my fingers after a year of daily work. I had my shoulder totally frozen up due to years of inproper usage. I could do over fifty dips on parallel bar and one hand push up. But I couldn't scratch my own back. My shoulder was a solid mass. The calvicle bone is called "lock" bone in Chinese. It locks up the wing bone (scapula) so you can't fly.
  9. I celebrated prematurely. I thought the painful part was over. I was wrong. The more painful part was about to begin. Since the first connection, the rest of body wanted to be connected. I didn't realize there were so many kinks, pain points and dead zones in my upper body. I did a period of agressive clean up. I did three to four hours of various movement, stretch/twist, self-massage before bed. The next morning, the stretch out body parts shrinked a little. The bonea, tendons and ligaments were in wrong places. The nerves were pinched every where. It was painful. Sometimes, the pain woke me up during sleep. Once I was woken by weeping noise, I realized it was my body crying. What a wimp! I kept going. My body finally got enough. It came in my dream to pleading with me. It showed up in a bloddy mess, the shoulder was torn open with intruding bones. I eased up a few days. I feel much better now. I wake up in morning without too much pain. With the improvement, I can enjoy something that you normal flexible guys take for granted: drop shoulder, round chest, connect tan tien to Laogong. No more chips on my shoulder.
  10. The Philosopher's Tao

Who transformed Buddha? Who transformed Jesus? Who transformed La Tzu? No body can transform you but yourself. A philosopher is not different than a mathematicin or a butcher or a foot ball player about understanding of Tao. A double P.H.D. in engineering and physics have no bearing when driving a car.
  11. Can you clarify your question? What do you mean by "physical"? Did electricity "physical" exist before we figure out how to measure it? Did bacteria "physical" exist before we have miscroscope?
  12. Calling Out All Taoists

Where did you get the assertion that "a lion kills its prey quickly"? I watched the discovery channel a few times. In one nature show, a pride of lions captured a small animal. The adults formed a big circle to prevent the animal escape. The cubs then practice how to chase and tackle the animal down. When the small animal run away from the cubs, the big lion would block its escape route and force the animal back into the center of the torture circle. Have you ever encoutnered a lion in the wild? I guess not. Me either. So we're no lion expert. Probably we should forget the whole lion metaphor.
  13. The MCO is Taoist fundamentalism

Interesting experiment. Do you have a link to this? Thanks. I just wonder if the word "love" and "hate" are visible to oboservers in the experiment. Did they do a bouble blind experiment, i.e. the word "love" and "hate" are unknown to the guy who conduct the experiment? I don't believe that plants know the meaning of the words. I think the observers around the plant read the word, and project the resonate energy to the plants, such effect the grows of the plants. We're the "co-creator" of the world, it makes sense that our emotion effect our environment. Back to top: The inner smile is the fundation. The genuine belly laugh is more effective than MCO in most cases.
  14. Getting sick and cultivation

The mindless entertainment is OK. Gaming is OK. The "real" life is nothing but a game for our entertainment purpose. The problem is you feel "bad" afterwards. Maybe you should look at new ways to play the game so you feel great afterwards. It's not what you do. It's how you do it with what attitude. When I get sick, I tend to curse "God" first. I'd call him all kind of bad names. After the burst of anger, I'm tired. I lie on the bed and gaze the ceiling for hours.
  15. Calling Out All Taoists

Sry, I didn't find your post about how you "diving in" on the actual qi qong aspects. Where is it?
  16. Maybe true. But it doen's mean we don't show the same compassion for him or his pseudo persoanlity.
  17. Loving oneself

How often does this happen to you? Thanks.
  18. I believe that Adam's ability to feel the pain for the lady, to sympathize with her, the intent to help her improved the situation. Adam is a good guy and did the right thing. The act of "correction" is just a flare part of Adam. Who cares how he did it. All I know is that he helped the old lady. Regards
  19. Everything is illusion.

Sure that's the first step. I hope I'll be there someday. Wait, I like where I am now. Thanks for the invitation though. I don't care about either I'm sleeping or I'm awake too much. If I enjoy my state of being, who cares how to name that state. The next step is pure speculation on my part. "Wherever I'm, I make it home"
  20. Everything is illusion.

Another illusion. There is no "home". If there was, we're "home" already. That's all there is. Here is your wake up call.
  21. Everything is illusion.

For you if you're a bad boy. I'll be enlighted and become the toast of the town. I'd intrinsiclly (I like big word though I can't spell it right) know the mystery of the world. Everything will be fine and dandy. The enlightment is my savior. I'm waiting faithfully.
  22. Everything is illusion.

I'm waiting for such person to emerge. Second coming of Jesus?
  23. Beginnings

I think you've got one of the first step of Tao already. Good luck on your path.
  24. Everything is illusion.

I don't think anyone has ever "get" there. The Tao is "unborn". How can you get somewhere which does not exist yet? "The means is the end." If "everything is illusion", then illusion is all you have. So long you enjoy the journey, it doesn't matter much. Wherever you are, God/Tao is with you.
  25. Extreme sensitivty to alcohol & dairy?

I was "traumatized" by alcohol at age five. I promised that I'd never get drunk again. The only other time I got drunk ever was at my brother's engagement party in a Mongolian tent with roasted whole lamp and local liquor. I'm a social drinker, a beer or a glass of wine enough for me. I was interested in wine tasting for a few years and did some promotional tasting events at local liquore stores. In a period of high engery running inside me, I found that a glass of wine could boost my blood circulation which helped my meditation. I could easily convert the heat into something useful. It just happened natrually. Now, I can't do it consistently. I have too many things to work on. I don't have time to experiment with alcohol. I hope someone knows how gives us some pointers.
