  1. When I first read Someone Else's first post (and your subsequent post) I wrongly assumed that he was putting Plato down. In his later post he clarified that for me, when he spoke of teaching the rich and ruling class to be better leaders. My apologies for any offense this may have caused. My bad.

No apology needed. Sorry My English is so bad.

I think of Plato every workday because I drive buy Academy to go to work. But I think he is disappointed. Because in Syracuse he try to make good government but fail. Socrates is killed by politician. I think Plato want to be practical. He want philosopher to be head in body of society.

  2. Ah but aristocracy mean to be ariston, to be the best, so aristocratic mean the best rule. If not the best, than by their own idea they should not rule. So Platonas saw they were not the best and try to make them the best. This his own motivation. He used mystic to get them to see they are mortal, but he is not reject wealth like Sokrates.

Black woman you discuss is very brave.

  3.

Rather than throwing a wet blanket on Plato, wouldn't it be more fun to just participate in the discussion?

Not wet blanket, I live very close to his old school! Platonas actually very practical, not like neoplatonic who take practical out. Plato want to make Athens better place. He want to make ruler wise.

  4. Plato not really mystical. He have problem with class war. He is from rich, his uncle very bad rich man Kritias, and he try to make political correct. But he fail. Also try in Syracuse and fail. So he open school, try to teach rich how to be human being. Philosophy mean friend from the wise.

  5. Regarding the book that Jim wrote, don't you think Jim really stuck it to Kosta danaos. I was really happy to see the title of the book wasn't miss leading like "Nei Kung: The Secret Teachings of the Warrior Sages" and the trip to and through Surabaya was awesome! and I have a feeling it's his first book so good for him!

Jim not capable of sticking it to Kosta Danaos. Different quality of human being. He try many times to contact KOstas, ask many people for intermediary, but Kostas not interested, so ego wounded and he try to get back like child. You and other customers go ahead and pay him 300 euro, 700 euro, good for you, but if not for Kosta, no one know Jim name ever. This root of problem.

Maybe better if you spend money somewhere else htough. Christ say in bible you may not serve God and Mammon. How Jim supposed to so Christian but charge money for meditation, good luck for answer?

  6. I disagree with you completely. http://supremeboundlessway.com/2011/11/21/esoteric-formula-of-spiritual-alchemy-the-four-pillars-and-sixteen-fortitudes/

Right Time is very important. You have to have the means to support your Master be it financially or in someother way as to benefit them. If you cant pay him financially then you'd better be able to clean his house, do some laundry or frame a wall, set a sink, etc. If the 'practice' resonates with you, and I mean REALLY resonates with you then IME, you'll have a love so deep that you will feel that drive to pay your Master in any way possible. My experience is just as I stated. I do have one other thing I'd like to add and it's this. If someone is driven to take up a certain practice and they show desire above and beyond the average person but are completely unable to afford the teachings then I believe that you should teach them and charge them within their means.

Everyone has their own opinion and money is yours to spend as you like. For me, I wonder why bishop wear gold robes when jesus say give everything to poor. Maybe same for Chinese religion, maybe not, I don't know. But I only study meditaion because man who teaches this has same opinion - does not take money from student for teach or doctor, and his master the same, and his master the same, ect. Maybe this is just stereotype, maybe we are thinking like children, I don't know.

  7. Also just because a person can shoot electricity out of there hands and burn people with their chi does not me they have Virtue or live a life true to their heart.

Verdesi say he is Level Four can make electric. Someone should go to seminar and force him to prove this. Maybe from Brazilian jiujitsu will be good. PUt video on youtube.

Should a "master" work a full time job AND then find the time to teach for free?
In one word: yes. This is old school way. I am 45 not so old, but when I study martial art and taichi in before twenty five years, it very important philosophy that even fighting should be spiritual training. How can be commercial spiritual training? This very old question: why Orthodox Church or Catholic Church have so much money for example? But still everyone in their heart know right and wrong.

  8. any update on this topic? I notice having read through the entire thread that Sean D has edited some post 4 odd years later

I never meet this man, but he visit Greece for one week when Kostas live in Dubai. He never meet Kostas. Some student tell him he is here with wife and baby and Kostas fell sorry and say send him to friend in US, ask him show meditation. After, is Sean everywhere represent Mo Pai say he is Kostas student - Kostas don't even remember the name. Then Kostas leave Mo Pai and Sean is David Vredesi vice-president or something. Anyway, Sean want to make name for himself and he manage to do this, good or bad, I don't know, up to him.

  9. 100 years old Taoist Master Zhang teach "Eight Jin-Gang Gong"

So what? Is how much you exercise. If you have time, you can exercise, you stay healthy. If no time, much stress, not good.

    These are old athletes:

Also from Greece, Coach Filikidis is more than 60, still world record:

And this man is 94, do kettlebells! More than do qigong movement.

Many like this can find if you look. Doesn't mean anything for qigong for health or power.

  10. Get advice from a teacher of that specific path, if you want to risk it. You should know what your true goals are with all of this, and if it's worth risking your life and well being just for that attainment. Is it to have electric feeling qi that can zap people? IMO, not worth it!

I think Scotty has a pretty valid point here, but the problem being is that how many schools do you know are headed by someone purported to be a real true immortal? and has done observable things to back it up? It is easier said than done sadly. if it were only so easy we all would be in these schools.

The odds of seeing and talking much less learning from an immortal are scarce. So scarce you would not know one even if it stared you straight in the face.

Who is immortal? Anyone ever meet? You mean John Chang? Don't look imortal to me. Also, what is taoismos? Not Chinese religion? How can be taoist not praying to taoist god? Very confusing all of this.

Everyone want to be superman. About immnortal, they don't care. Only for Titan movie haha.

Also, More_Pie_Guy, why yuo always post from Danaos' book? Is not Mo Pai bible, only from one man opinion. Is someone else suppose to write Mo Pai bible, Chinese guy Hemy together with Andreas, but cannot do. John tell Kostas to write book but cChinese student object, so Kostas stop and write his own book. I remember Kostas very distrubed this very long time ago, we don't even know name Mopai then, only from Ring of Fire. Maybe 1998, we are in another school before last school.

  11. Yet there is still so much the western world has yet to understand and just like how much I believe these phenomena are possible I believe the knowledge and training that is so guarded is simply limiting our race at this point. It may be naive of me to think so, but I also think/believe that it's a very racially and ethically, charged subject.

I think before you invest any time in any school you should ask yourself, what is my end goal? What am I trying to accomplish?

This also what Danaos say from before 12 year when he write second book. Also in interview. He believe everything physical and in Mind. Small mind and Mind. But is everythign in east and west all with politistic gift wrap and everyone have interest and try to protect for themselves. Like army security.

  12. I don't know anything about Kostas, but these quotes make him look like a dick person who is more interested in protecting his financial schemes then a teacher.

Matter of fact it would be easy to believe it was written by an anti-Kostas person to discredit him.

    1 1/2 cents

Hah hah yes, Kostas is bad, you are right. Like about ninja as prince sau, everything he write is so true they cannot change even they pay much money to find.

Yes you knowo about Kostas and financial schemes. Kostas wants money so bad he never charge for teach or take student. Yes, you are right my friend. He no fool you. Bravo.

Maybe he see where Mo Pai is going and don't want his name together to the people who are driving the Mo Pai to this place. Maybe he just want clear line between them and him.

And he can do it if he want. That is what he is showing. Otherwise he doesn't care. In the future will show who is dick amd who is trying to protect. Then you ask yourself how you feel.

  13. Nope. He was in Greece at that period. He was coming to school to teach, but not on a regular basis. His students held the school as I said. The thing is that very few of his students were hard working students on martial arts, most of them wanted to pose as Kostas's students, and maybe talk with him. That's the hardest training they had. Talking.

Sorry Earthbound but you are wrong. I dont know who you are, but I am Greek and old student of Kostas; I know him and his family. I know he is outside Greece 2005-2008; very easy to check this if you know where he works.

Actually this has not to do with subject of thread really. But I feel before, and now we can see, you want to talk bad and feel important. So now you we can see. If you want to talk bad, though, be a man and say everything. You talk bad about student, but what is student name who is bad? Maybe they want to talk to you face to face, what you think?

  14. He had a school after the water flood back in 2002 in the same area in Kato Patisia. He held it until 2007-2008 I think, although the school was running by his older students at that time.He only came once a week to train students.

@Earthbound, I knoq Kostas is not in Greece 2005-2008, so how is possible to have school? Maybe students have school.

Also I know he has interest since 2002 only for study Greek history martial arts and his own pammachon. Nothing with Mo Pai since ten years for sure.

  15. Thank you for sharing the original answers. the last two pages(Q7, Q8) an excellent discussion of the limbic system and how to go about integrating the three minds(neocortex, limbic and reptilian)leading to suigetsu.

I found it a little odd, that in the actual India Times article there is no attempt made to actually introduce Kosta Danaos! Give a little bit of his background, his studio etc. I did enjoy reading the MULLAH NASRUDDIN side bar humor :)

It was mentioned that kosta has a job, besides his martial arts studio. Would anyone know what type of job he does? Thanks.

Kostas not have martial arts studio since water flood in 2002 and school close. Only private teaching. He is manager for billionaire company.

  16. I just finished reading Magus of Java last night, and would be interested to hear more stories about John Chang . . . but, and maybe this is a can of worms best opened in another thread . . . I don't think the most important takeaway from Magus was belief in John Chang's 'powers' or lack thereof.

Magus concluded by reminding us (ten years ago, btw) that we as a species have come to a very important crossroads in our evolution. We are in the process of destroying our environment, and although many of us are aware of this, most of us aren't doing anything about it. Pretty soon, it will be too late to do anything but prepare to ride out the crash.

Our collective way of life is not sustainable and we need to collectively remedy that. Our collective karma for failure will probably be pretty stiff.

There is promise in the energy arts. Maybe even enough promise to someday transform our science and the way we use our technology. But first, and most imporantly, they have the ability to transform human consciousness to be more aware of the interconnectedness that most people are so blind to.

We don't need John Chang to teach us how to merge our yin and yang. We just need to fall in love with whatever practice we are fortunate enough to find and then work hard to build enough light within ourselves to share with the rest of the world in this hour of darkness. I think that is our calling as practitioners of these arts and stories like Magus of Java and Seeking the Master of Mo Pai simply strengthen my resolve to work hard at what I love.

Greentiger I read your post and see that maybe some people understand so I decide to write.

I am from Greece and study with Danaos from 1996-2000. I am in the audience when John Chang visit Greece in 2002.

I am very angry that people criticize Danaos and include him with Jim, verdesi, others. They do not know the man.

greentiger, what you say is why Danaos write Magus of Java. We speak many times of this and I recommend him better not to publish anything about John Chang, but he disagree. He is study for PhD in physics at the time he is writing Magus and one advisor is Nobel laureate. He is hoping to bridge science of east and west. Danaos is very complex man - he can do many things very well. Also, he does not afraid of almost anything it seems - he is very outspoken always, always saying exactly what he thinks, always fighting for what he think is right. But I know that Magus of Java was not supposed to be Mo Pai book - is other person who is supposed to write Mo Pai book instead of Kostas. Kostas ask permission to write his own book and John say yes. So he put many of his own ideas in book. Also second book is concepts from history and physics, not for Mo Pai. Also titles of two books is not from Kostas.

I see Kostas together with John in May 2002. For sure John Chang look at him like member of family. I am very surprise when Kostas come back in September 2002 and say I no longer practice Mo Pai. When he explain, his own students don't believe him! They try to go to Indonesia - everyone want to be Kostas in Kostas place! But understand, Kostas was never "Kostas" in his mind - he is just looking for answers and speaking what he thinks is right. He want to find the primitive, he say, to find answers for future. This is his motto in Pammachon also.

I am study with him for four years. He never charge me any money or anyone else. He give treatment with acupuncture to many people and make healthy with no charge. Always this man give-give-give, always many people accuse and say bad things about him - but never to his face, of course.

When he write Magus book, there is no so much internet and no youtube. But he can see where the world is going and is very concern. Now everything he say is come true here in my Greece. But he never try to write Magus of Java for himself - always he is trying to do something to protect other people.

Anyway sorry for make trouble but I get very angry with Jim for saying bad things about Kostas from far away.
