  2. Voting Question

If by definition voting is democratic, why do other parties exist?

I am taking a major tangent to this voting question here.

  5. Voting Question

For some reason, I was taught about the book of Lord Shang, It's name I thought was something about agriculture and industry: http://afe.easia.columbia.edu/ps/cup/book_of_lord_shang.pdf
  6. Voting Question

While I agree being industrious is ingrained in us all, I does not mean we are fighting each other, where I'm from we are very kind.
  7. Guess This Song

I might have found why different notes were being detected with the same input song:
  8. Guess This Song

Trying to make some use of the nonsense that I've posted.
  9. Voting Question

Thank you for the clarification. I am naive in these matters, and well too careless and distracted to find the subtle difference that you've noted.
  10. Voting Question

The commonalities among us are greater than most differences.
  11. Voting Question

It makes it extremely difficult for Senator John McCain to speak up for his beliefs.
  12. Voting Question

I am looking for an answer to the question why does political separation exist?
  13. Voting Question

I just picked up 'The Federalist Papers' from my bookshelf. There was major opposition to the Constitution after the American Revolution. Hamilton, Madison, and Jay wrote these essays to defend the Constitution. I like C-SPAN.
  14. Voting Question

Food for thought: '"This Government will commence in a moderate Aristocracy, in Its Operation, a Monarchy or a corrupt oppressive Aristocracy, vibrate some years between the two, and then terminate in the one or the other." --George Mason, September 1787 AD
  15. Voting Question

There is not a single way to describe the complexities of the USA. Maybe it is time that I actually read 'The Federalist Papers'.
  16. My understanding is that we are all cut from the same mold. Think of divining power more as a path or direction from that origin. The list of possible changes are enumerated, and where our current reality is, is described by the divination.
  17. About chi and inner sensations

The fire is in your heart center, li. The water is in your tan tien, kan. The goal of the meditation that I've practiced has been to unite kan and li. Water falls and Fire rises. The water is below the fire, How might one heat the water with the fire?
  18. Ancient Symbols

Can you see the heart here?
  19. Ancient Symbols

Hi, in my personal practice journal, I started a science of sound discussion. I just modified a function, and this picture was the result: To me at least, it looks like a heart shaped tai chi tu. Does anyone else here believe that ancient people were actually very advanced, and modern people are for the most part primitive?
  20. Ancient Symbols

    Can you see the Heart?
  21. Is Laughter slander?

This 9th century monk: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linji_Yixuan#Three_Mysterious_Gates has made me chuckle. When I started my path around 10 years prior to now, I read Burton Watson's (? forgot that last name) translation of the Lotus Sutra. In that translation, I was instructed to never slander a Sutra, as that would be the worst possible offensive karmic condition. So Ten years after, reading Linji causes me to chuckle.
  22. Modern London A City Of Death!

I read in the wen-tzu, even a turtle can run at a slow pace.

  24. About chi and inner sensations

around 223 BCE this text says: " the hot qi of accumulated yang produced fire; the essence of fiery qi became the sun. the cold qi of accumulated yin produced water; the essence of watery qi became the moon. " Inside or outside, within or without, qi follows principles. Guide your meditation such to follow principle.

Here is a nicer view of the original function: The white data in all of the above graphs is in spherical coordinates. The red data is the same data as the white data, just in Cartesian coordinates.
