  1. Dzogchen, superior to Tantra. Really...?

  6. The first jhana

Is like having an orgasm that lasts and lasts and lasts! Once you understand the difference between awareness and knowing, and learn how to stabilize and concentrate the knowing into a focused beam, fixed on one spot, you will see what I mean.
  7. The first jhana

Well, learn something new every day I've been studying Daskalos, a Christian Mystic Healer. Here is a book about him: http://www.amazon.com/Swimming-With-The-Whale-Researchers/dp/1477139699 Anyway, in this book it describes the importance of visualization. One of the meditative exercises described is to visualize a whitish blue sun at the solar plexus area. You visualize it streaming out light blue light into your body. Then, upon successful 'creation' of this white-blue sun/star that is radiating light, you merge or project yourself inside the sun and remain there. After a few days of performing this type of meditation (twice a day for 50 minutes), I discovered a few things: 1) the practice produces heat in the body. The heat commences at the top of the head and slowly works its way down the whole head, into the shoulders and upper chest. 2) There is a time warp. What was a 50 minute meditation seemed like 5 minutes (a few times) The interesting thing to me is that the manipura chakra is supposed to be yellow (Hindu), but here it is envisioned as light blue. Being blue, it resonated with the Kunlun practice of imagining one's self floating in the blue sky, sitting on a lotus flower and performing 'qi' gathering through visualized breathing.. Light Blue Sky. Further, it reminded me of the thogal practice of sky gazing. Again, it is a method of submersing one's self in a light blue, sky blue field. So, there is some significance to the color of 'light blue'. According to Daskalos: "If you have a person who does not believe in God, in the Absolute Super-intelligence, or in men or in love, and who is living most miserably, you flood this person with the blue colour. The blue colour is giving to this person such vibrations as piety and concentration to something higher, to God" So what does this have to do with first jhana? Yesterday, for the first meditation of the day, I envisioned a light blue circle at the manipura chakra (solar plexus). Being that my concentration was pretty good, I kept a pretty steady focus quite easily. I was getting to the point where I was going to merge into the center of the circle when, to my surprise, I went into first jhana. Just before going into first jhana, the position of the light blue circle changed, and it seemed to be directly in front of the third eye. Now, I know you can pull up chakras and examine them using the third eye and when you do, they appear to be at the third eye level instead of in a physical local, so this is not so strange. The strange part is that the whole practice reminded me of what is written about kasina practice in the Visuddhimagga. http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/nanamoli/PathofPurification2011.pdf Instead of using breath or 'the sensation of the air on the tip of the right nostril' you can use a visualized circle of blue light. (you can, as indicated in kasina practice, use other colors too.. that is another topic I have yet to explore). Realization: you can go into first jhana by using a visualized circle of color. The key seems to be stable, sustained, directed focus involving relaxed willpower. The other component, which I have discovered lately, is 'interest'. It is possible to ramp up 'interest' in something. The first few times when you discover something new, there is great interest in the new found phenomenon. However, as it becomes more familiar and less intriguing, interest wanes. However, I've discovered that 'interest in something' is something that is controllable through willpower.
  8. Dzogchen, superior to Tantra. Really...?

I cannot tell the difference. I have not tried to manipulate any of the "scenes" although I interact with them. How would you know if you are creating a reality or participating in something someone else created? If the consort is a yidam deity, or a visualized consort, then at the highest level it is your own mind's construction through visualization. If it is a thought form, then yes, you can empower it with characteristics and behaviors. But it is empty, has no intrinsic permanent existence apart from the mind essence. For consort practice with an actual physical being, remember what the Dalai Lama said. Unless you can transform shit and piss into tasty treats you have no business performing consort practice. Both partners need to be at that level of accomplishment so the question of whom benefits, realizes or is being used is moot.
  9. Dzogchen, superior to Tantra. Really...?

What I have found is that even in the dark, you must use the 'visual sense'. Even though your eyes are closed, you keep looking through them. The key is maintaining and eventually inhabiting your visual sense. This taps into the kati channel. First you can gaze into the blue sky, see the eye floaters and the blue entoptic phenomenon with eyes open. Later, with more practice, you realize that you can see this phenomenon in dim light, if you know where to focus your awareness. Then, later, with eyes closed, you can not only see the blue entoptic phenomenon, you see the dark red round circle visions that look like scratches in the sand around a tiny hole. Later, when you attain stillness by remaining stable in the visual sense, a moon appears on the left, and a sun appears on the right. Then you see bizarre multi-colored geometric patterns. A real kaleidoscope. Then you see round balls or spheres manifest and after a while, you notice that there are people inside the spheres. It is like a soap bubble with a little person sitting inside, in exquisite detail and color. Some of them even wear glasses. Then, you see whole scenes of landscapes, like you've been transported to other places on this world or in other worlds. The clarity and visual crispness is simply amazing. After a while it is hard to tell which is reality because you can step out into a scene and it seems so real. Then you realize that the slice of reality that you exist in is no different than all the other scenes, it is just that you grasp at the one where your body exists in. (It's also really hard on your head, because reality loses its meaning. I don't know for sure but I suspect that the shrinking rainbow body is when you jump out into another 'scene' and then suck your bodily essence back to yourself in the other 'scene' through some kind of chord or connection. Zoom, I see not allot of difference between tantra and Dzogchen. But you have to define 'tantra'. If you read this book http://www.amazon.com/The-Main-Dzogchen-Practices-Transmission/dp/B0076WSCJQ you will see that the main point is to dissolve into the central channel but once in the central channel, one uses the kati channel to discover that you are creating all the manifestations including other realities. The main difference between 'tantra', as with consort or learning to dissolve into the central channel without consort, is that 'tantra' doesn't usually mention the kati channel and sort of leaves you there in emptiness. Thogal, on the other hand, proves that we are either creating or have access to, multiple simultaneous universes/worlds. There is a dark cloud over Kelsang Gyatso, some kind of feud between him and the Dalai Lama.. Others on this forum have warned about that a while ago. Tsongkhapa is not well liked in trantric circles because he refused to take a consort while living. He felt it was better to prove that consort practice is not needed, much to the dismay of those who use consorts. Rigpa is not a goal, it is a starting point. Edit: fixed link

Nice picture, Bob, showing the arms of the etheric doubles. Bindi, here is an example of using uppercase self to denote the Self, and lowercase self to denote the smaller self. http://www.researchersoftruth.org/what-is-meditation
  11. Beyond the spiritual heart

Back to topic of merging, which Bindi was inquiring about... Jeff, so, I checked out your AYP thread that you posted, with Riju. Again, I find the same old misinformation and posing that you do. You say that you give "light transmissions". You have given "light transmissions" to people on this forum and seem to have gained quite a following, moderators included.. Right? So here we find a post in which you explain the jhanas (poorly) and you say that once you reach the seventh jhana, you can share presence (back to topic of merging, right?) and give "light transmissions". Sharing presence, isn't that "merging"? http://www.aypsite.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13398#114243 I have never read anywhere that the seventh formless jhana is the one which enables you to merge or share your presence with other beings. If anything, it is the fourth jhana which grants the siddhis. Further, the implications of what you written are mind boggling. Since you claim to give "light transmissions", you are tacitly implying that you have achieved 7th jhana! Since one does not enter the higher jhanas except through the lower jhanas, you have, in that very post, claimed to have mastered the jhanas. How did you do that without a regular standard practice routine? (You have told me many times that you have no regular practice, don't forget. Did you suddenly decide to become a practitioner?). What technique did you use to get to the first jhana? Mahasi Sayadaw? Ajahn Brahm's? Forest tradition? Nostril focus? Anapanasati? Shamatha/vispassana? Buddhagosa's hard kasina jhana visualization? Visudhimagga style? How did you do it? I've almost mastered the first jhana, and believe you me, it is no easy task. It has taken over two years of dedicated meditation, several insights along the way and sincere effort. And then you claim that by eighth jhana you realize that "you were just "fooling" yourself and "creating" and artificial state of mind." You say you always answer my questions... Well answer these: 1) Have you mastered the jhanas? 2) Which technique did you use? 3) How long did it take you? How many hours per day did you spend in meditation? 4) What experiences did you have as you progressed up the jhanic chain?

I do not need your permission to talk to anyone. I'm more interested in this thread, where you try to bully Riju into accepting your "blond" when it is obvious that Riju has rejected your premise and your "limited" energy. You seem to go to great lengths to convince Riju that using a female "blond" which you claims sucks out energies, purifies them and sends the back to the person is a high level practice. You quote from the bible and the Dalai Lama. You show no respect for your friend or his chosen path. Good for Riju for holding his ground and standing up for his beliefs. So let me get this straight. In August you are trying to lure Riju into chat so you can show him that cosmic energy storage by remaining in awareness does not work and that in order to expand he must do this.. Use a consort... So first you tell him that all the Buddhists use consorts, which is blatantly false. When Riju says that "Subsequently Christ is active even now in the bodies of Popes who live in Vatican." You reply: i see you have no use for the institutions that were born from Christ. Isn't that being heretical? Then in October, you have this discussion with Riju: http://community.livingunbound.net/index.php?/topic/376-i-lost-my-way/ The whole thread is about how you caused Riju to lose his way. Riju understands that consorts and Male/Female are mind's creations, and this is a higher view than yours. Yet you try to pull him down to your level of playing with energy purification with the imaginary "blond". For shame.. I see your actions as a form of spiritual bullying. Why is it that you don't understand or realize what you are doing? Before you can teach others how to be unlightened you have to be enlightened yourself. Otherwise it is all hearsay.
  13. Beyond the spiritual heart

Jeff, you've slandered me. I did not say that "I do not believe in any written words of Jesus" as you have stated. You have twisted my words and are presenting me in a false light. What I said is this "I just can't believe in a book that says that unless you believe in something you are forever damned. I also don't believe that Jesus said most of any quote from the bible." There is a difference. Perhaps Jesus said things that were later quoted in the dead book, perhaps not. Besides, why would I rely on a dead book when I have the Living Christ in my life? The first words that Jesus spoke to me twenty seven years ago were "you are saved". Since then I have had many conversations with Him. If you keep propagating the lie that "you don't believe in any written words of Jesus" you will get what you deserve. Further, a true Christian Mystic (as you try to present yourself as) would have had superior vision, insight and perspicacity to realize what was being said. Since you like quotes, here are some you might remember: http://community.livingunbound.net/index.php?/topic/376-i-lost-my-way/ In that post, Riju was concerned that And then you use the Dalai Lama to try to press your point: Riju did not like what you did to him. How that explains "the blonde" or even comes close to consort practice is beyond me. Are you pimping the blonde and pretending that your "good friend" Riju has emotional problems that are blocking his resistance? Didn't you also tell someone else that they had the same issue??? Lording lack of realization of emptiness over them like it is their fault? Since you say that you always answer my questions, perhaps you could answer that one...

So it is against the rules to post inaccurate information...
  15. Beyond the spiritual heart

Where exactly are the rules posted?
  16. Beyond the spiritual heart

You know Jeff, a forum is a public place. Once something is posted on the Internet in a forum, it is fully available to the public. This is really sad. You are pimping yidam deities and consort practices to others while you yourself have no understanding of the practices, requirements or implications. As quoted in my previous posts, the Buddhas and Gods are not at your beckon call, yidam deities are manifestations of mind substance from your own mind. Further, consort practice without the realization of emptiness is useless, no better that having sex with someone. It takes years of development before you can even take up consort practice. Your lack of understanding is phenomenal. http://community.livingunbound.net/index.php?/topic/479-this-is-unbelievable/&page=2 Introduce or pimp? And then this? Communion is not consort practice. I'm sure you will get exactly what you deserve.
  17. Beyond the spiritual heart

Don't give me that bullshit. You never answer my questions.Being able to master the light is mastering astral psychical light. He does not say that that is God's light. Nice poem. Kind of a mishmash of teachings though. Mixing the term primordial light with Christhood. And how do you relax and let go when you are trying to merge with it? Contradiction of terms and efforts. This is how Daskalos describes the highest attainment. Awareness, not light.
  18. Beyond the spiritual heart

Jonesboy, What exactly are you implying by quoting this version of Vajrayana? Do you think that the yidam is actually invoking the "external" deity? Is that what you and Jeff believe? Do you believe that visualizing Jesus results in the real Tara or Jesus coming and visiting you or anyone you transmit this visualization to? The yidam is just that, a visualization. Something constructed by your mind. If you think that you can visualize Heruka, Buddha, Vajrayogini or any other deity and that they come to your beckoned call, think again. Here is an excerpt from Secrets of the Vajra World - Reginald Ray So if you and Jeff can prove to me that you are in true reality calling the external deity, the being that is not you, and that you can make them perform your circus tricks, good luck with that. I don't believe you at all. What you are doing is misrepresenting your abilities to the public, it is a form of delusion. What you are doing is creating a thought form on the astral plane and then mistaking that personal thought form for the "real thing". That is not to say that visualization is not a good thing. According to Daskalos from Swimming With The Whale: Not only is the power of visualization necessary in Daskalos' method of healing, he stresses the importance of visualization throughout the entire book. With such a great emphasis on visualization, it is easy to see that the higher Buddhist teachings have built visualization practices right into yidam practice, guru yoga, concentrative meditations, Visudhimagga practices etc.. for a reason. However, no matter how good a visualization is, it should not be misconstrued as merging into or calling a being that is separate, external from yourself. For, that is a form of delusion.
  19. Beyond the spiritual heart

Hi Bindi, You are very wise. This is what Daskalos says about duality.. From Swimming With The Whale: Good for you for not jumping into the deep end first and drowning. Without a close examination of duality, there is no foundation on which to build.

  21. Beyond the spiritual heart

Exactly. We should let people to their own practices, teach them how to progress on their own and share knowledge instead of pretending to give transmissions of "who knows what". It would be fine if Jeff and Tom kept to themselves, but they have come on to this forum and handed out some form of transmissions, which for the mostt part are unidentifiable, have no lineage, claim to be above the middle level of accomplishment and could very well be damaging to others. They present quotes from Christianty, Taoism, Buddhism, Dzogchen or whatever they can, from the highest teachings, as if they were highly accomplished, and it denigrates the teachings. To become adept in the highest practices requires years of practice and dedication, true lineage, sincere devotion and practice and much help from spiritual masters. It is easy to pose and fool people in the annonimity of a forum. Case in point, if Tom actually had a Vajryana guru and that guru learned that Tom was giving transmissions in forums, he wouldn't have that guru for very long. Now the latest statements is that their transmission is a form of yidam deity practice. Yidam practice is between the deity and the practitioner. There is no need for an intermediary. You don't need someone to put you in touch with Jesus, or any other of the advanced adepts through transmission, you only need to be shown how to develop what you have to in order to do so yourself. A deity is a super sensitive being that needs no intermediary. In this ridiculous thread where Tom discounts the astral, he claims he also transmits "full body orgasm" http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=89570&page=3 http://www.spiritualforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=89570&page=2 I have considered that I am just wasting my time here. Perhaps you are right.
  22. Beyond the spiritual heart

From Awakening The Third Eye, Samuel Sagan:
  23. Beyond the spiritual heart

The only thing that even faintly resembles this concept is the joining of the three bodies with their etheric counterparts(inner and outer) as mentioned by Draskalos: So, In that last example, an arm was replaced by an arm. Don't forget, Jesus is a healer too. Also, I agree with Jetsun. Repeated pushing out of the etheric body damages and weakens it. Pushing people out of their bodies is not a good thing to do.
  24. Beyond the spiritual heart

Alcohol destroys the etheric double's fabric, puts holes in your aura and kills brain cells in the frontal lobes where the third eye is connected.
