  1. Enlightened movies

probably the best daoist warrior monk iv come across in film.
  2. It's sort of like hypnosis. People do things they normally wouldn't because their actions are observed by others (and their expectations).
  3. Questionable Journalism and Fake News

all of the guy's sources were fake news lol.
  4. What came first a belief or an experience?

I think experience is first, but as we grow older, our beliefs begin to shape our experience. A lot of Buddhists compare themselves to children when talking about an enlightened state.
  5. The Human Cost of Talking Trump

This is a thread about Talk Trump. Which means Talk Trump has its own active sub-thread. That's pretty impressive.
  6. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

Friend showed me this video because he thought it was funny but it actually seems like mainstream media brainwashing and has a lot of connections with your comment, "continued "pussification" of young white men throughout the west who appear to feel ashamed of both their sex and race."
  7. I asked for a Baklava and got a Bhavacakra instead...

The whole image is a representation of the path to Enlightenment. Some people believe Buddha himself made this illustration. The demon is Mara, he is something like an illusion which keeps you spinning and from reaching enlightenment (the moon at the top left). The three animals in the middle are really the most important, they represent Greed, Lust, and Hatred (Some say Ignorance). They keep beings spinning in the wheel. Notice how each animal is connected to the other like a circle. The six realms are mental states a person can be in and each have their own advantages and disadvantages. You will also notice each realm has a buddha in it, meaning beings in each realm can reach enlightenment. (To some tibetans the realms are literal). Animals are always in lust and fear. Hungry ghosts can eat and eat but never be satisfied. The gods are always lazy(cant think of the right word at the moment) and out of touch with reality, letting time slip by. The demi-gods are always jealous. You might find some more information here: https://www.amazon.com/Enter-Infinite-James-Van-Gelder/dp/0996192913
  8. Teachers who accept money vs. teachers who teach for free

I think Wang Liping is a good mention for this thread.
  9. The owner could have just got lazy and photoshopped out the bird and the tai chi man.
  10. I like how the dogs are subtle and not overpowering the aesthetic of the website. good job.
  11. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

Agree with most of this. I get very annoyed with "reverse racism." Greater diversification is inevitable though and clinging to "native races" is a sickness. The world becomes more interwoven as technology evolves. We can even share similar currencies across multiple countries now with bitcoin.
  12. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

And how do I fail to appreciate the situation? I used the word "historically" four separate times meaning I wasn't talking about the present situation. I think you fail to understand the English language.
  13. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

Tell me how many years the leaders of African countries have been African. Tell me how many years the leader of Thailand has been Thai. What about China? How many years have leaders in China been Chinese? I mean sure, many countries have been conquered, but there is an overwhelming trend of leaders and people in power positions to be of the same race/origin as their countrymen. To tie back into the central topic, I think historically the leaders in all these countries have primarily been male. Especially eastern countries like Japan.
  14. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

It is only natural that white people historically had more power in the USA and UK. Afterall, the other races moved there and worked their way up in societies owned by white people. It's hard to be winning a game someone else creates. For example, if I go work at a restaurant nearby, I could work there 40 years and never become the owner. Guess how long I would have to work in China or Russia before I became a royal person with influence and power over the nation; probably never going to happen. The ruling classes in India, Africa, Thailand, Japan, China, Russia all these other countries are historically leaded and "privileged" by people of their own race/origin. So "white male" power positions in the US and UK isn't some oddity. The difference between the US and all these other countries is that the US is historically more accepting and a Melting Pot. So race power positions stand out more.
  15. What happened to the Matriarchal Cultures

I wonder how New Zealand's young democratic female leader will do.
  16. There are a lot of group practices for healing that I have come across. Others involve circles of people holding hands, which seem interesting.
  17. It's called click bait. that guy wasnt in the actual video.
  18. I think giants could be real; there are a lot of interesting fossils that have been found.
  19. What about alternating by seasons? Some small farms will have their "culling" in the winter and eat meat in the winter. But not eat meat during the summer, spring, fall.
  20. I think as people get older the effects of meat become more profound on the body. Children and athletes have strong chi, so i can see how meat doesnt effect them as much.
  21. These guys are pretty big.Escpecially number one and two.
  22. This isnt from a movie? Are there any books about this? Additional reading material...i will scour the web... bummer, "that giant footage is a scene from a film played by Japanese comedian Matsumoto Hitoshi in "Big Man Japan". "
  23. The fats in vegan food are good fats, usually your body is absorbing bad fats with most commercial meats. Ultimately I think raw vegan diet is the best:
  24. I am a vegan because meat and dairy make me tired. I have asked others, and it also makes them tired. Einstein has mentioned that vegan diets are the most profound. Also, Daoists advocate it. I love how I feel after eating vegan food.
