  1. Jeremiah - that's an exciting schedule!

I can tell everyone that I had the opportunity to spend two days with Sifu Terry this summer in California, and it was an outstanding time.

Everyone who attends a UK seminar is in for a treat. Sifu Terry makes his training sessions extremely informative and a lot of fun. His knowledge of qigong, tai chi, and kung fu is extremely wide and deep, and his enthusiasm for the arts is really contagious.

It amazed me when I spent time with Sifu that he made some seemingly small corrections to my forms that made big differences in the quality of the FP energy.

I would encourage everyone who can to attend one of the sessions. This training will be worth its weight in gold!

    Good practicing,

    Fu_dog

Thanks for your input, Fu_dog !

I think it'll be an exciting time, and there is plenty of interest.

Shame you can't be there. Would be good to meet.

  2. Hi Jeramiah,

Please put my name down as interested and let's hope I can find the money. I'm currently unemployed but rebuilding my health through Flying Phoenix chi kung and hopefully 27 hours will seem less daunting as I get stronger. I'm amazed how much I've progressed already.

    Robert

P.S Is this response all the info you need?

    Hi Robert.

Thats great. I'll keep you, and everyone else, updated as things develop.

    PM to follow

  3. My apologies to you. I just used your post as an opportunity to share a basic teaching. I did not have the impression that you were tampering with tradition or were ungrateful for anything. I should have prefaced my remarks stating that my warning is in case there are people out there combining things instead of spacing out different methods. In fact, it probably is better if I remain the student that I am and just let the Sifu and other experienced people do the teaching! I think I will stick with questions and testimonials. So thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Keep posting your observations too. I found your posts very interesting. We are all students, finding our way, and your comments have helped me !

  4. Hi Everyone

"Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Chi Meditations" ("Fei Feng Sunn Gung")

Master Dunn is coming to the UK in the Autumn to teach several workshops on his famous Flying Phoenix Chi Kung.

These will take place in London, Glastonbury and possibly Oxford or Birmingham. Venues to be confirmed.

The dates will be in late September and early October, but again, are not confirmed yet.

Cost will be in the region of £300 for three days of teaching. Concessions available.

I will post updates and confirmations on this thread as they become available.

The Workshops will take place over four days, with three days of actual teaching, and one day to digest what we have learnt. This will involve a full 27 hours of teaching from Master Dunn.

    So;

Days one and two will be learning the material from the first three DVDs in the Flying Phoenix Chi Kung system

Then a day off, to return home to practice and digest,

Then day four, to learn the capstone long form meditation from DVD four, and seal up the system.

Master Dunn will be available for private lessons, tuition and healing during the day off.

This is an incredible chance to learn from a real master, and will be the first time Flying Phoenix Chi Kung has been taught in Britain.

CHI KUNG (qigong) means "energy work," the ancient Chinese yogic art that cultivates man's intrinsic internal energy, or vital life force--which the Chinese call "chi"--for healing, rejuvenation and longevity. For centuries, Qigong has been the secret engine that empowers the Chinese martial arts and healing arts to supernormal efficacy. Chi Kung For Health is a ground-breaking new DVD series by Terry Dunn that teaches the very rare and powerful "Flying Phoenix Heavenly Healing Chi Meditations"--a remarkable system of medical qigong created more than 600 years ago by the legendary Taoist sage, Feng Tao Teh, of Ehrmei Mountain (Omeishan) in Szechuan Province who traveled much of his life throughout China's western frontier and Tibet teaching his yogic arts. This rare and powerful Qigong has been carefully preserved through six generations of an impeccable Taoist martial arts lineage, is now available to the public--as a precise, safe, dynamic and self-regulated program for natural health, healing and illumination. Flying Phoenix is a complete classical system of medical Qigong--comprised of standing and seated, stationary and moving exercises—that imparts allostasis and its profound health benefits: improved circulation, respiration, metabolism, skeletal strength, neuromuscular function, strenghtened immunity, and suspension of the aging process.

The Flying Phoenix Qigong is an ideal exercise for beginners and adepts alike because its exercises are simple and fool-proof, can be practiced without the supervision of a Qigong master, and imparts sublimely energizing and rejuvenating effects with startling speed after only days of practice. Flying Phoenix Qigong is an excellent health complement to Tai Chi and Kung Fu practice, while being considerably easier to learn and practice. Terry Dunn's Chi Kung For Health DVD series presents complete and detailed instruction in this authentic Ehrmei Mountain Qigong that facilitates splendid health and longevity, and serves as an invaluable ground of experience that enables one to understand and evaluate all methods of yoga and meditation. The first breath of this Qigong practice will demonstrate the truth behind its illustrious and transcendental Chinese name.

"Because of the great interest in Qigong in the west, it is important to have bona fide teachings by bona fide teachers. Too often students wind up learning a little bit of this form and a little bit of another, while never learning any complete system. This series is a good example of a serious and gifted instructor who offers a complete system of healing qigong to the serious student." -- Tolala Tower, Editor, The Empty Vessel -- Journal of Contemporary Taoism.

For those interested in attending, could you let me know via this thread, or through a PM, and I will add you to the list. There will be plenty of demand, as I will be advertising widely, and many of my clients are already putting their names down to attend. But there will be plenty of places too.

Master Dunn will be teaching Flying Phoenix from the start, with the 'basic' standing meditations, so no experience is required. As you will quickly see, there is nothing 'basic' about anything in Flying Phoenix. Its an incredible, complete system of energy cultivation.

For more information on Flying Phoenix Chi Kung, check out the 85 page thread.

Any questions ? Ask below, or PM me.

    See you there ! :D

  5. Wow, this is one of the worst threads i have ever seen.

Zoose thinks he has the right to abuse women in his house because he is bigger and stronger?!?

And here it reads like you think women are just a life support system for their vaginas

    Are you seriously that twisted?

If a woman is screaming at you, how about offering her your presence, and hearing what she has to say. She is screaming because she doesn't feel heard, and it has become her fall back strategy when nothing else gets through your thick head. As soon as she feels heard things will tone down.

The other option is that she gets a drama fix that she is addicted too and doesnt really care about the issue she is screaming about. If it turns out that that is the case, move out.

    Feeling seriously pissed off... :ninja:

    Agree 100% !

I am shocked at this thread.

I survived attempted murder by a psychopathic women and serial stalker. Thank god I didn't listen to this thread, as I could easily have decided that as I was bigger, and stronger, the easiest route would have been to kill her.

All this shit about men and women, women and men ?

Haven't you grown up at all ?

    How about individuals ?

How about judging people by who they are, rather than what they are ?

This is quite a scary thread.

  6. Thank you Fu Dog for your reply and for all that you have posted. Your diligence and shared experiences from Flying Phoenix are truly inspirational. You are a disciple. But to answer your reply, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said it all best. He trained us, his teachers of Transcendental Meditation, to neither add or subtract from the teachings of all mighty Nature. We are merely the mouthpieces of Nature as cognized by the vedic tradition. With the passing of my master I have come to embrace the teachings of China'a internal energy cultivation arts and I only see similarities.

Earlier this week I woke up with a sore throat and that always means cold symptoms will manifest the next day. So I did what I always do, I did my Flying Phoenix but added more of it and each day the sore throat/swollen lymph gland was less bothersome. It is now the end of the week and not one symptom of a cold has manifested and the sore throat is gone and what remains is just a bit of the gland thing. Just one more tangible experience of Flying Phoenix Celestial Healing Chi Kung which certainly was appropriately named!

    Thanks once again Sifu Terry!

Post of the day from Tao Mist !

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Says it all, succinctly and to the point.

Lets face it, the various masters through the ages have explored all the possibilities and made all the mistakes so that we don't have to ! Why should we think we can do it better, or think of something they didn't ?

  7. Welcome !

I post sometimes on the FP thread. In my opinion its the best/most valuable thread on the forum, but then thats because I practice FP too.

    Enjoy your time here !

  8. Hi all!

I've been following this thread since Fu_Dog started it and since it's now come along nicely with a lot of experiences, let me ask a couple questions regarding this practice.

    1. I've learned "about" from other sources that there are 5 layers of depth in qigong practice in regards to the body. Those layers being skin, muscle, blood, bone, and marrow in that order. The theory goes that over time the qi will sink or enter each of those layers with a healing effect on each one. My question, how does FPCK address those layers or is this a consideration in this practice?

    2. Along the same line of thought, Has anyone at any time during the practice felt cleansing reactions due to this practice? Increased bowel movements, etc?

    Thank you,

    Bill

    Hi Bill

Yes, I have read your contributions in the thread, from the early pages.

I only know what I have read here, and 'felt' through practice, so my answers are not based on any real knowledge.

    1. I am sure I read somewhere on this thread, that the 'energy' from standard ZZ works along or through tendons and ligaments, hence its more martial application. While FP energy travels right through the tissues of the body, in a completely different way. So while that doesn't quite answer your question, its at least related.

There is no mention, or instruction, as far as i have seen, about the FP energy working separately, and travelling through layers.

I have read about it while practicing other Qigong systems, but in the back of my mind, I always felt these were conceptual issues, and suspected they were more connected with the human brain trying to formalise and understand a profound process, rather than reality.

    2. I am sure it mentions, somewhere on the thread, that after classes, participants have been more 'regular' next day. Which suggests a cleansing effect !

So thats the total of my knowledge. Not much to show for so much practice and time spent reading !

  9. Jeramiah -

I also get a very different feeling when doing MHP. It is best described as a profound peace that envelops me and I just don't want to end the meditation.

As for your dream, that is *really* interesting.

I also had an interesting experience after a strong session of FP. This happened about two months ago. After I finished the session I went into my kitchen and sat down at the kitchen table. Suddenly it felt as if the entire world was rocking. Not violently but in a slow and very powerful, measured, almost pleasant rhythm. My brain, trying to make sense out of this caused me to look down at my chair because the only explanation I could think of was the legs of the chair must be uneven causing it to rock. Of course, all four legs of the chair were firmly on the tile floor. And I live in Florida so it was not an earthquake. :-). Besides, my wife was standing fairly close to me and she could not feel this. I concluded that this powerful rocking sensation was a rhythmic energy resulting from my one hour of Flying Phoenix. It lasted a Little more than a minute and then I ate something and it disappeared.

I think with the practice of FP these metaphysical type experiences are not so uncommon. I say this, and I am a very logical guy.

    Good practicing!

    Fu dog

    Hi Fu Dog

Yes, I get that enormously peaceful feeing too. Like a blanket of peace wrapped around me. Very comforting !

Your experience was very interesting too. The rocking sensation would certainly fit in with that rhythmic pulsing of FP energy I often feel, especially during the three 'basic' FP standing meditations. And the fact that it stopped after you ate something confirms, I think, that it was an FP experience. Doubtless Master Dunn will be along soon to conform !

Its true. FP does seem to connect us, or open us, to these experiences, more so than any other system I have followed.

    Enjoy your practice !

  10. So;

    A question, and an experience..........

What is it about Monk Holding Peach ?

There is something very 'different' about it, compared to the other two 'basic' standing postures. I know full well there is nothing basic about them. They are all three profound for different reasons. But the feeling I get from MHP is different again. I know each practitioner will get something different, specific to their experience, energetic make up etc......I just feel MHP has something extra.

I could stand in it for hours, and loose myself. I don't....but the temptation is there.

Is there something specific and unusual about it ?

    And an experience.......

Two nights ago, after an especially productive and powerful hour spent in FP seated meditations, I woke at 3am. I felt exhausted. Ever since my head had touched the pillow, a Chinese man had been instructing me on some sort of Taoist Alchemy. I was glad to wake up, to get a break. Sadly I don't remember any of it, but my head was whirling. I had been asleep for four hours. I needed to stop the learning !

The whole bedroom was bathed in golden light. Really surreal. It was soft, but very golden. The bedroom was bright enough to read by the light.

I live in the depths of the countryside. There is no artificial light.

I assumed it was the moon. There is a door straight out into the garden. I stepped outside, naked......I have no neighbours either. The night was black. No moon visible. It was raining hard. I got wet.

I stepped back in, the light was gone. The bedroom was dark.

What on earth was that all about ?

    Interesting !

  11.

the best light i can view DI in is that i think his teachings can be useful at a certain stage of a persons psychological development but ultimate needs to be discarded in favor of love, compassion, and other fruits of spiritual wakefulness.

That is exactly the approach, perhaps the only approach, that makes any sense. Its the one I have dedicated myself to.

  12. Thanks for sharing, Jeremiah. (would be interested to know more if you have more to share.)

David Icke has contributed a good deal, an enormous amount really, in terms of initiating people into the wisdom of looking beyond the surface and opening to the deeply unexpected. He's opened up a mental space. Inevitably all sorts of stuff flows into that space and one has to attempt to sort through it in some way.. and I do think tis better to have that space than not to have it. The level of possibility of questioning what you are told and what you see, or think you see, he has introduced onto the menu is unquantifiably creative.

I like this clip: it's David Icke on an British TV chat show, two interviews, over a decade apart, compared: interesting to see how empowered David Icke became over the years, and how in 2006 he gets clapped, whereas earlier he is a laughing stock.

    Hi Cat

Not on a public forum. Maybe by PM ?

  13. I have an ex girlfriend who knew him extremely well, years back, before he was famous.

I know she is totally honest and very bright. She used to spend a lot of time with him, amongst a small group of men and women who were his friends. The stories she tells me are incredible. If I didn't know her so well, and trust her, I wouldn't believe them. But I have to, because I know she wouldn't exaggerate or lie.

So on that basis, i have to say that he is genuine, and knows a lot of 'stuff". I suspect he exaggerates for effect, and uses language and metaphors to get reactions, and perhaps to carry a deeper message. Much like many people have done through the years.

She showed me evidence that was very clear, regarding contacts he had with people at high level in the British establishment. Also evidence regarding how the security services watched him, opened his post, bugged his phones, and that also this applied to his friends too. She also suffered from the same, so much so that eventually she left the country.

I don't know him, and have never met him. But he isn't a nutter. He is an interesting character.

  14. Here's another target. Sometimes its good to move in the opposite direction of your strength.(!) You're very yang; doing hard style martial arts, looking for intense chi gung. Maybe go yin. Gentle yoga, slow tai chi, sitting zazen, or a healing gi gung like Stillness-Motion.

Why? Because it'll keep you in balance, make you more rounded and complete. Sometimes the hardest thing is to slow down, but its essential. You're already running and fighting; perfect your sitting and breathing. It'll help you. Then keep your eyes open for a chance to learn from a highly qualified teacher.

As you wait (years?), you'll learn and be worthy of the teaching.

Keep your yang, learn the yin.

    my two cents

    Such good advice.

Looking for more Yang will only mean that eventually you will be forced into more Yin, through injury or whatever.

Balance is everything. If you don't seek it out, it will seek you out.

  15. Well, you said taiji is a moving qigong, and indeed it can be used this way (though I'm vehemently opposed to it being taught this way -- I have come to believe that every single move has to be revealed for what it is, a weapon, with the whole spectrum of its applications -- or else you never get the taiji body dynamics right. But then you can use it as a qigong practice, or even as a stillness meditation -- the Chens in particular are fond of having you freeze a position, usually an excruciating one, and stand there meditating... on shaking feet, with burning thighs, with unbending intent.) So it occurred to me that all ancient internal arts must be like that, versatile in their purpose -- and yoga, which is not a weapon to use against "another," can still be used as a weapon if your opponent is yourself and your own stiff, frozen, unmoving ways. A weapon against an unmoving opponent. Who is you, or your stiff joints, or your tight, stiff, locked mind. :)

    Agree with this completely !

  16. Dear Jeremiah Z,

Fascinating that you were an archaeologist in your previous life this life. I can't believe that that inner discipline isn't still screaming for more digs to work. You are indeed very lucky to be able to concentrate your work hours into a couple of days each week and to be able to spend much time writing and practicing things holistic and having fun. I have had a similar lifestyle starting from 1991 when I retired from a successful corporate career that was everything except meaningful--to proliferate the practice of Tai Chi, Qigong, and healing arts through media projects (television and film as well as dvds).

Thank you so much for your kind and generous offer to organize Flying Phoenix Qigong workshops in the U.K. for me. Although this isn't obvious through one's individual practice, it has been my constant experience in teaching--without exception--that group practice of the FP Qigong accelerates the energizing effects on each individual at a geometric rate.

My teacher, GM Doo Wai, when he first authorized me to publish videos teaching the FP Qigong in 1993, casually prophesied, "you will get a lot of good response from this art." With the DVD's completed in 2003, and with the tremendous aid of the internet and this discussion thread, I think we've crossed a critical threshold where smart people are recognizing the powerful potential of this safe and fast-working Qigong system.

I look forward to plotting with you FP Qigong workshops in the U.K.

    Sincerely,

    Sifu Terry Dunn

    Hi Terry

Indeed. One never loses the passion for archaeology. And I often look with yearning at archaeological digs. Now, I mostly content myself with reading about it, and watching television programmes about archaeology. I doubt I will ever excavate again. Archaeology is on its knees in the UK. Most digs were developer funded, but there is little, if any development happening now, so no archaeology. Many of the big archaeological units have gone bust, or reduced their staff to a minimum, and wages are very poor. Its a sad situation.

I am incredibly lucky to be able to live as I do. Although, as people will see from my autobiography, when its published, it hasn't all been easy. There have been some very powerful lessons, learnt at some cost. But here I am. Still living and breathing ! And happy and peaceful too.

i already have a number of people interested in the workshops. And three or four are definite, and thats without anything being organised. So its looking good. Email to follow......

I have to say, everything people have said about FP on this thread has been confirmed by my own practice. So its all true ! FP is an exceptional practice and I don't know of anything similar.

I have high hopes for its future !

Fu Dog.....thanks for starting this thread. And Terry, for your constant input too.

  17. As I have said on the Flying Phoenix thread, Taiji isn't really Qigong for at least three years. You have to get good at it....specifically, the form must be very good, and integrated with the correct breathing, and then done with the correct Qigong mindset....effortless concentration, and full integration of mind, body and energy.....then it becomes Qigong.

So for the first three to five years, Taiji is mainly a physical activity, rather than energetic.

But there will always be someone who disagrees with that. One will probably be along in a moment !
