  1. PUA and Spirituality

You bring up perhaps the most important point about PUA and the "game" of picking up chicks. For cultivators or people getting results from their spiritual practices, all the ego-games played on the battlefield of interpersonal relationships become boring and unappealing. The most noticeable result for me is that I'm not attracted to as many woman as I once was and those that I am attracted to have very juicy energy. But once one can feel and read energy even the "perfect tens" become zeros if they're operating at a low level. Still sometimes I do get tempted and even succumb to a "perv attack" from a really hot babe!
  2. PUA and Spirituality

It's something I have noticed amongst the younger generations. My guess is that all the advertising targeting a woman's self-worth is taking it's toll. I just have observed that extreme handsomeness + extreme intelligence = too much to handle for most girls these days. You can have one out of the two but having both is too intimidating. There seems to be a premium placed on intelligence if the guy is kind of a rotund oafish dweeb. Or a guy can look like a Calvin Klein model but he should also be a bit vacuous. To me this dichotomy comes down to control. If a man is too good looking and intelligent he may realize he can get lots of woman and so why take a chance on getting hurt when you can get a guy who is less attractive and is so thankful to have you that he'll never cheat and basically do whatever you say. I have actually had many woman explain this to me. They deliberately try to date a guy who they feel is "below their stature." In short, the modern North American woman *seems* to want a dog in a man's body.
  3. PUA and Spirituality

I agree with your general point. Earlier in the thread someone posted a video of a guy who got into PUA because his girlfriend dumped him and he was emotionally shattered. Go back and watch that video--the energy is positively demonic and from a mundane perspective, the girls aren't even that hot! (not energetically anyway) The whole PUA genre seems to be an almost Tantric technique to finally arrive at Self-acceptance. Now I know that may be a stretch and I personally wouldn't recommend it to anyone, BUT there seem to be some success stories that come out of it. For the most part though, few of these guys are truly capable of dissolving their own self-loathing through trafficking with the parasitic denizens of the club scene aka pub sluts, hungry ghosts and manipulative primadonnas. One can skip the whole business and cultivate self-love. Also I just heard Drew point out that it's best not to incur "perv attacks" and perpetuate the addiction to ejaculation.
  4. Am I just going crazy, or getting duller?

Willingtolisten, Sounds to me like what I was going through when I was your age (not long ago). You WILL get through this. This feeling of falling apart is a natural process. Own it. Let it be. Cultivate despair and revel in it. Before you know it, it will have passed. Learn to love being miserable! It's fun in a way and then it runs its course. Your shadow is making friends with you, that's all. I would suggest listening/relating to this album for awhile. Sing along: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ResvvzOu0Rs After you have gotten used to the despair then implement thetaoiseasy's suggestions. My best to you.
  5. PUA and Spirituality

The way things are going these days, the last thing most girls want is a good looking and intelligent man haha!
  6. AA

This. But be careful here. Don't accidentally become sexually attracted to such a one and then against your better judgement get involved sexually. You will learn very quickly what an energy vampire is in such case. Apparently, it's only natural for the weaker person to leech off the stronger person unless that person deliberately employs some method to curb the leak. I made this mistake and paid dearly for it. No matter how much I wanted to blame her, when I looked back over the situation, I knew I shouldn't have gotten involved from day one. My Jade Stalk got the better of me! The drama that ensued was a lesson from the "no coincidences department" to be sure!
  7. Feeling fantastic after ejaculating. Why?

I always feel great as well. I have nearly completed the "100 days" 3 times and reached approximately 85-90 days each time. I definitely perceived the benefits from celibacy but truth be told, I feel very energized from having sex and ejaculating. Sometimes I ejaculate 5 times during an all-night session. I don't feel tired or weak afterwards and have far more creative energy. I never get sick and I am in better shape than people half my age. When I first encountered this forum I was puzzled by all the negative talk around ejaculation--I've just always had the opposite effect that people describe. Is there any Taoist literature that describes such a thing?
  8. Too much Red Phoenix ?

Greetings. I was just reviewing the book as I feel the impulse towards Kunlun once again. On page 84, the author says "do not practice more than once per day. Once per day is enough." Just looking for clarification from practitioners. Does this injunction mean to perform one and only one practice per day (e.g. Kunlun sitting, 5 elements, Gold Flower, etc.) or not to have multiple sessions of each practice per day. So in that case one could do 5 elements, Gold Flower and Kunlun sitting in the same day provided it is a single session of each? Experiential feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Falling in love and other spiritual tests

Wow. Can I ever relate to this. I nearly completed the 100 days twice and broke it with the same girl each time. The first time was on our first date. It was like Mount St Helen's erupting in Hell. The second time came after we broke up and no contact for a year. Night sweats. Fever. Aching all over. My chest opening up like a hot air balloon. Very little sleep. Unrequited, unfulfilled bipolar love has been one of my greatest teachers. It's a painful ride though.
  10. Western Symbolism thread

This looks to be basic Masonic/Kabbalistic symbolism. The two pillars of Soloman's Temple are here depicted. The pillar of Boaz/Severity (Left) points its finger showing the active principle this pillar represets. The Pillar of Jachin/Mercy (Right) has an open hand depicting receptivity and the passive principle.
  11. Hermetic Alchemy

The Book of Lambspring is an important alchemical symbolic text and will provide initiatic inner experiences if worked with sincerely over time. These will provide further insights into alchemical operations. If you are interested in this work, why not meditate on the images? Print them out, hang them on your wall and try to relate to what messages the text is communicating through the images and symbols. Higher concepts require higher language and this is provided by alchemical books of symbols such as the Book of Lambspring.
  12. Hermetic Alchemy

I haven't used strictly chinese herbs per se but the process would be the same. Always make sure to do your research on any plant you intend to use and obtain details from someone with direct experience. That said, I am about to make some tinctures of Reishi mushroom and Fo-Ti and I will provide an update on the results when they are in.
  13. The obscure philosopher Lemuel Johnstone already proposed this notion over one hundred years ago. Here is his now infamous paradox: 1) If reality is ultimately materialistic and rational, then it could be described in a finite set of instructions and modelled as information. 2) If it could be modelled in this way, then it will be — at the very least because, given limitless time, all possible permutations of a finite universe should occur. 3) For every one original reality there will be many such sub-models, and they too will generate many sub-sub-models. 4) The nature of complex systems means that it is almost impossible for any reality to reproduce itself exactly, indeed there is greater likelihood that the submodels will be mutations of the original, subject to different structures and laws. 5) Because the models severely outnumber the original reality, or realities, it is therefore more likely that we are living in a universe modelled as information, and it is most likely that it is not identical to the original reality. 6) Thus Johnstone’s Paradox: if reality is ultimately materialistic and rational, then it is highly unlikely we are living in a materialistic, rational universe.
  14. Some Beginner Cultivation Tips

I would recommend saying them aloud as this acts as a sort of "bio-feedback" device. You will hear whether you speak them with confidence or not and as your confidence grows you will feel your body vibrate with the invocation. Compare doing it both ways and notice how your body and Being feels.
  15. Western Symbolism thread

Hear Hear! I second the rather witty and erudite Bum from Melbourne in his motion to keep the Occult and Hermetic sub-forum conspiracy BS-free. While I recognize WWROA's right to explore the world of reptilians, aliens, alien-ghosts, ghost-dogs and alien-ghost-dogs that shoot laser beams out of their mouth with full HAARP synchronization, this is simply not the place to discuss these and other sundry masturbatory fantasies. Mark my words, these theories always lure you in with promises of alien love and end up convincing you that the jews are behind everything. You will then purchase a very expensive telescope with which to see the tree-house habitations on Venus where the evil and greedy jews are building an obsidian altar to the ancient Dinosaur Gods to whom various clues have been left to us through the Flintstones cartoon program and then...
  16. AMORC

Hey Scotty, I'm assuming he transposed the word "symbols" for "teachings" and meant this book: http://www.scribd.com/doc/320342/Secret-Symbols-of-the-Rosicrucians-of-the-16th-and-17th-Centuries
  17. Pure sources of Kabbalah

With all manner of respect, this is such a ridiculous statement that it is nearly legendary. While this may be true for you, it seems fairly unwise to conclude that this should be the case for everyone else. Also, to flippantly dismiss the work of this brilliant scholar who has demystified so much of the Kabbalah for the layperson is truly the stuff poppycock is made of! Therefore, I will disagree with you as Aryeh Kaplan has written several books which most certainly helped me: http://www.amazon.com/Inner-Space-Introduction-Kabbalah-Meditation/dp/0940118564/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354506535&sr=8-1&keywords=innerspace+aryeh+kaplan http://www.amazon.com/Meditation-Bible-Aryeh-Kaplan/dp/0877286175/ref=la_B001JX0XDG_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1354506558&sr=1-6 http://www.amazon.com/Meditation-Kabbalah-Aryeh-Kaplan/dp/0877286167/ref=la_B001JX0XDG_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1354506558&sr=1-7 His translation of the Sepher Yetzirah was already mentioned in this thread. All of these books are LOADED with PRACTICAL techniques to experiment with and test the results therefrom. Of course as ever, one must DO the work or these books "will almost certainly not get you anywhere" as you so eloquently pointed out.
  18. AMORC

AMORC's material is second to none in terms of depth, breadth and the ease with which one can incorporate the teachings and techniques into one's personal system. Like so many other esoteric groups, AMORC is not perfect but if you can withstand the personality conflicts that sometimes arise at the office for example, you shouldn't have a problem. Your mileage may vary according to location of course. Once again, the material really is quite good. Here is a book that contains many techniques from the lower degrees and the author even got in trouble with AMORC for publishing it! You can check it out and if you are left wanting more then perhaps consider joining: http://www.scribd.com/doc/36139314/Wisdom-of-the-Mystic-Masters Best to get a feel for the actual material rather than the various flame wars on the internet. AMORC has been a favorite whipping post in the modern occult scene in recent years for various reasons.
  19. Hermetic Alchemy

...I forgot to put in a plug for my friend James who has created a wonderful alchemy website with detailed instructions on many processes: http://alchymie.ca/
  20. Hermetic Alchemy

Hahaha! Well I have popped a few over the course of time and I will say that since making and taking these preparations I have noted: 1. More vivid dreams and many more lucid dreams and also what one might refer to as "initiatic" dreams. 2. Clearer and more disciplined mind 3. Deeper meditations 4. Drastic increase in loving-kindness and compassion 5. better ability to sense and manipulate vital energies This is of course a brief snapshot of the benefits I have perceived. Also, I should note that these are my results with PLANT preparations. One would need several lifetimes to exhaust the path of plant alchemy--the amount of work one can do in this domain is seemingly endless. This kind of Work I consider "cross-training" along with whatever other practices one does on one's spiritual path. It's also a lot of fun!
  21. Hermetic Alchemy

As Above so Below and As Within so Without. I think you may be surprised at what various Plant Stones, Ensai and Tinctures are capable of. These powerful preparations work to clear the nadis of the body and to raise the vibration of one's spiritual bodies. This is of course not mentioning the metallic tinctures or stones. In my experience, the body absolutely does produce alchemical elixirs but that's not to say that Nature Herself doesn't provide the ingredients to make very potent preparations. This is not an either/or equation. One doesn't need to make a huge investment to get started either. Have a look here if interested in the path of alchemy from a hands-on laboratory perspective:
  22. Indeed there are fundamentally two churches: the church of Peter and the church of John. As we recall from the Gospel, Peter denied Christ and even tried to prevent Jesus' capture by the Romans in the garden of Gethsemane. It was also Peter who didn't have even the faith of a mustard seed when he tried to walk on water as Jesus did. And yet, Peter (Petra) is the rock that Jesus said he would use to build his church--why? The simplified version is that as the representative of the exoteric church Peter shows us that enthusiasm can go a long way but falls short without a deeper understanding of the Path. Now as Jesus hangs upon the cross he tells John that Mary is now his mother and that he is now her son in this way he passes on the blessing to John who represents the esoteric or inner church. Recall that John is the only disciple who wasn't martyred and he lived out his days on the isle of Patmos where he received the book of Revelations through a series of prophetic visions. So as we see there will always be two churches. Everyone must start somewhere. For some it will have to be with organized religion. But for those who can see through the blame game and the popular secularism so prevalent today, they will find the inner church and will be guided accordingly.
  23. Pure sources of Kabbalah

Note: in my list above I neglected to include Angels and Other Mysteries of the Tree of Life by Omraam Michael Aivanhov. In reviewing its contents it has struck me that this may be the single best overview and introduction to the Holy Kabbalah I have read. In it, Aivanhov (whose level of attainment is very apparent) clearly explains in simple language what the Kabbalah is and why one should study it. This little book is highly recommended for beginning and advanced students alike. Oh, and what's this? It happens to be available on scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/58466844/Omraam-Mikhael-Aivanhov-Angels-and-Other-Mysteries-of-the-Tree-of-Life Enjoy, friends
  24. Pure sources of Kabbalah

The study of the Holy Kabbalah is like building a pyramid--one adds layers to one's understanding in a stepwise fashion until the knowledge becomes part of one's Being. Here is a list of books which form a (possible) progressive study of Kabbalah: A Garden of Pomegranates -- Israel Regardie The Essential Kabbalah -- Daniel C. Matt The Mystical Qabalah -- Dion Fortune Sepher Yetzirah -- Aryeh Kaplan Zohar, the Book of Splendor--Basic Readings from the Kabbalah -- edited by Gershom Scholem De Arte Cabalistica. On the Art of the Kabbalah -- Johann Reuchlin The Book of Splendours: The Inner Mysteries of Qabalism -- Eliphas Levi The Mysteries of the Qabalah -- Eliphas Levi The Holy Kabbalah -- Arthur Edward Waite
