  1. LOL ... I love these discussions ...

    Q: What's the best MA??

A: Whatever stops yer ass being pawned.

So in that regard, sitting here typing away is a good MA because it keeps me away from where bad shit is going down.

MMA is great cause they get to train their limited range of attacks to full force making them better prepped. And in regards to BJJ being the best well that's just BS because, in most cases, it only trains for the ring, but at the same time it is also BS to say "never go to the ground" because statistically that's where most fights end up so if you don't have familiarity on the ground you could get trapped there and subsequently face stomped.

The best martial arts is appropriate response ... no more or no less then what is required to harmonize the situation.

    :D

The debate (mindless) could go on forever. Most people are stuck in their own box and will never change their opinion. I agree to the appropiate response idea. Of course that will require a high level of expertise.

If I had a choice of what type of adversary I had to tangle with , I would hope for a MMA type. IMO that style plays into my strength.

BJJ may be fine in a 1 on 1 situation. In a gang vs. gang street fight IMO it is useless. Is anyone here suggesting that a Gracie would defeat 1 on 1 either Guo Yunghen, Yang Lu Chan, Dong Hai chuan, or a Sun Lu Tang ?

The debate will continue. Is the proving grounds a Caged Octogon ? Indonesian jungle?

The local Biker bar? A Street near you?

Really there are too many variables to make a determination.

  2. I don't think the meek inheriting the earth is meant literally, rather it is talking about realising a state of non duality where you realise that you are not separate from the entire world therefore you realise the world is part of you therefore you inherit the whole world as yourself.

Interesting way to look at it. I think it could be done the way you suggest.

I also believe it could happen literally. On this thread JoeBlast, Zerostao,

and Tree Stump look at this straight forward.

People could spend alot of time researching ancient definitions, wondering which context it was used in, looking for the symbolic, allegorical, or hidden meanings.

Trying to speculate what Jesus was really trying to say or just look at it, that Jesus meant precisely what he said here.

  3. I've been very curious about entheogens for awhile. I'd like to know everyone's opinions on them as far as their value for spiritual development, and which ones are most useful for that kind of work.

I have my reservations about using them, but it is an avenue I'd like to explore in case it might offer some benefit to my journey.

Cool avatar!! IMO there are many false shamans lurking about. It is a very interesting subject. Tread carefully. :ninja:

  4. There is a Longmen Pai technique for creating chi water; it's a method many have used to sustain themselves while fasting. I don't know if there is any public documentation of the method, but you may be able to find something. At the end of April we're doing a week long retreat in the high desert of California, this technique will be taught by Grandmaster Zhang, we'll have all week long to practice it :)

Red Pheonix; I took a quick look at your link :) It said water will be provided.

No mention of cost? Feel free to PM me. No pun intended :o

  5. Not baguazhang but dancing... something that feels funky and natural.

This came on the radididio and as I danced I thought that this was just natural, not something I had to study and I realized I was compressing and playing and releasing!

    Steppin' !B)

HA!! This does look like some Bagua guys i know  It looks like their Qigong too.

I practice Taiji FYI Funny stuff. SifuSufi sounds like a Baguazhang name? Spirals.

  6. yes but damn i haven't even had a minimum. 24 yr old male virgin and I haven't even gotten anything but torture from all women I come across. All... and then men are messed up too.

Im not looking for sex magick, im looking for normalcy.

I guess normalcy is downright suffering to the extreme then.

I hear you Bro. You have heard the expression "That all is fair in love and war" ?

Why are you concerned about the messed up men?

I have heard of women making the same complaints. Competition is keen.

I don't think it is all that unusual to be a 24 year old virgin. If that is the main

concern? Or do you expect to find Ms. Right ?

If your only goal is to lose the virginity ? Then I am confident you will find a way.

  7. I have had a few brief moments in my life when I felt I had caught a glimpse of enlightenment. It was very fleeting. There were moments when everything seemed to come together in simplicity and clarity. These moments usually arrive when I am out enjoying nature.

I often wonder how it is that I cannot hold onto the feeling. They just fade away.

  8. When you ask, it is already being greedy.. even if it is for a minimum..

Are you really that desperate for sex and women, Non?

You know, here in taiwan, there was once a man who did a sex ritual. Every woman in heat became irresistibly drawn to him and would want to have sex with him. This guy ended up having sex everyday. What happened to him in the end? He looked like a 60+ old man when he was only 40 years old.

There was once a sorcerer in a village who used his sex magick on every woman he met. Every woman, whether married or not, end up sleeping with him. In the end, the gods sent some deities to remove his spiritual power and he died in a very ugly manner.

There are numerous cases of people doing love magick on married or attached couples in the hopes of stealing one spouse away from the other person. I am sure some of us have heard about the infamous Thailand/SEA love magick where the woman put her menstrual fluids in a drink and enpowered such fluids. The man who drank her fluids would fall hopelessly in love with that woman forever. He would also suffer perpetual bad luck and lose all fortune.

How about magick during business negotiations? Oh yes there are numerous magick in every country too which can put your business customer, supplier or partner under your sway. The other person in business negotiations can be charmed into agreeing to your terms if you apply enough spiritual leverage.

Using magick in physical fights? Just go to Thailand and research sak yant. Thai Kickboxers are so violent partly because of the strength magick which they use.

You said that there are some men who keeps getting women. Do you know what happen to men who keep getting women? They become haggard and look far older than their years as they grow old. Why is that? Cos they gave their essence out to far too many women instead of conserving their essence for their own self development.

My point is behind every act in the world are vast spiritual forces controlling these acts. You want to achieve whatever material outcome you desire? Start getting spiritual and learn how to manipulate these spiritual forces.

But in the end, you will discover all these material outcomes whether it be women, money, dominance over other men is all emptiness compared to the true enlightenment you can achieve. In the end, if you abuse your spiritual powers, you will end up with nothing, not even your life.

:ninja: Very interesting post. I agree that if you gain something in one area, you pay for it in another area.

  9. As a westerner(mostly) I certainly was confused about this. Thank you so much for this explanation. :)

Does the cycle or circle flow in both directions? Will wuji go to taiji, as well as going from taiji to wuji?

I will suppose that also tao is not a destination or a goal?

Your example of "unfolding" and "return" really struck a chord with me.

    It is simple and beautiful.

  10. Hello Taobums. I have been enjoying this site from afar.

Many taoist ideas resonnate with me. Many buddhist ideas resonnate with me.

In fact i am interested in all ancient beliefs.

I am a newbie , so please excuse my ignorance

    What distinguishes tao from wuji?
