  2. Neiye and Resource Links

Ayo @sean i have been blind to your treasure right in front of me for more time and years i didn’t know. Hidden in plain sight and shit for this grumbling stumbling fool, thanks for making this available.
  3. Ta Chuan, tips on good translations?

Now that is typical. Thanks for the pointers Meowski <3 Edit: I must learn yet another alphabeth, for anyone who don’t know alphabets are to me as candy flavoured cocaine is to a yuppie from the 80s. I shall find a way to procure the Wilhelm Baynes one. Do you have any opinions on the Karcher translation? Found it fairly available even on Amazon but i cant tell a Wilhem from a Guillome right now so :3 Edit 2: Anybody willing to share a ISBN of the WilhelmBaynes one? Just getting google to cough it up is, well, not fun.
  4. Hands hurt after trying to feel chi

It’s not that far off just intentionally stumbling on sensing it, it usually shows up if its right there, what is most needed is honing that empty receptivity and clarity of it. Imostly get a lot of blurbs of ”hey wait whats that- ” and then i can usually follow it if its clear. Also i often noticed a forced or a heavily focussed approach tends to scare the connection away. Afaik there is a lot of finding stuff first after someone showed you how to serendipituously happening upon it and after a while you have seen enough to ask questions on a specific thing. But mostly just quietly noticing, stuff tends to explain itself if the connection is appropriate in context and timing. But even describing it like this makes a thing, for me it’s more of a hunch and a sort of remembered fragrance or a familiar sort of tingle in awareness, almost like you get a sense you just missed an aquaintance walking you by or maybe you pass somewhere that has you responding to something, either because this energy is stronger there or because there is less of something else so you notice a few things that would otherwise be drowned out. I know a guy who is scary good with stones. He cant exactly look for them but if he gets a feeling he’ll go finding them almost like a compass. Naturally talented dowsers are supposedly not unfamiliar with this sort of stuff. For me all of it is hard to describe and sometimes hard to discern, but it makes sense when it just shows up or draws my attention...
  5. Hands hurt after trying to feel chi

This hand form is sometimes used to do the kind of exercise OP mentions. It’s not an easy form to do right but with practice it can be very useful as a striking hand in fighting and useful for massage, acupressure, qi projection (i’ve been told) or as a classic pantomime of a handgun It has both soft and hard aspects, it is slightly rounded, quite fast and very strong. I cant speak to what you felt OP nor why, but i can repeat what has been said to me and others, both on here and IRL, repeatedly when it comes to these sensitivity exercises: Be gentle and very very relaxed. Start out slow. Don't do too much or too often. Start at 5 minutes a day in the beginning. Stop if you feel discomfort or pain, wait a day and try again and most importantly do not worry or push these things. Just feel. If nothing happens, this is also a result. Try again tomorrow! Hope it helps a little
  6. .

Oh crap, popped in my head and saw a thing on superheated fruit, got excited and blurbed it without realizing i had walked into some sort of clash with swashbuckling to-and-fro dialogue and close quarters handgun fighting. Wasn’t looking to add to any bitterness or conflict, sorry, bowing out, cheers k bye!
  7. .

Well, i’m really blown away by the grapes plasma microwave thingy, who’da thunk?

Even acorns feed Sitting in a mighty oak rustling - look, squirrel!
  9. .

Iron body skills are cool but not that advanced imo, almost anyone can learn and get quite far with it, but many suffer in advancing age from all sorts of aches and pains. I have a blunt trauma, stab- and bulletproof vest somewhere around here, takes less time and is way safer than a lot of iron shirt styles. It doesn’t stand up against high powered 5.56 or 7.62 rifle shots and it really impede natural and free movement of the torso. A lot of iron shirt i’ve seen is done way too fast and destructively, the soft and patient way to do it is relatively safe and will bring a lot of benefits, iron shirt being the least rewarding of them. 2 cents is all i got, you guys can have them
  10. Haiku Chain

Across universes empty between grains of dust even acorns rot

  12. Taoist triva and memorabilia

    Yum yums, thanks Meows!
  13. Receving a Taoist name and initiation.

Besides becoming ordained into a Taoist Religious Order or naming yourself, you may obtain a talist name if you go through Bai Si with a lineage holder becoming an inner door student to a traditional Sifu. In the kung fu lineage i follow any students who pass the inner threshold are given a name in the lineage family. Since our Sifu is taoist then this means that name will be a taoist one. In the classic tale ”Journey to the West” the Pretty Monkey King is baptized with a Taoist name by his teacher of taoist arts of transformations and magic. He proclaims himself Great Sage, Equal of Heaven at one point and is adressed as such (with a heavy dose of sarcasm) and when he forcibly enters service to Tripitaka the revered monk baptizes him with a Buddhist name that is both flattering and admonishing at the same time. Plenty ways to get a name, it’s a manner of recognition by peers, followers or superiors to acknowledge you or your efforts or actions, thats as i understand it at least.

Haha, why yes it is much better bro, thanks! Good to see you back in fine style! If you say i am i will wear it as a badge proudly.
  15. Some more advice needed on practice

Thats exactly one of the videos i was thinking about, nice catch!
  16. Bird gods

Just to muddle the waters further it seems those departments and appointed areas of responsibility are mutable with time, at least in part. I’m not versed in this but i have read references to shifts and promotions in the Celestial Dynastic Government and its operative and beaurocratic branches. Some gods recieve expansion of responsibilities and increased titles, some immortals move up the ladder and closer to a godlike status and of course, humans arent unanimously agreeing on who is best, boss or servant. Again this falls out of my memory-core slightly fragmented, but perhaps some with a fresher software version can offer a more orderly description?
  17. Bird gods

I dont get along with gulls, but they are organized and way more clever than they get credit for! I’ve seen magpies tag-team-harassing cats pretty often. One taunts their visual field while the other flanks around and pecks at kittys tail and haunches. Kitty turns and the magpies either reverse role or do a fast bait and switch to get kitty to move in a certain direction. Hilarious show.
  18. Some more advice needed on practice

I had more or less the same thoughts as Gerard did i think, and in my opinion it’s not a question of exercising enough but rather incurring stagnation because of overfocusing on Zhan Zuang without moving qigong exercises to counterbalance it. Get all the exercise you want and need, but be wary of how easily it can reinforce tension, blockages and bad habits. Stand Like A Post is a powerful exercise, but practiced alone by a beginner (i sort of assume in the strict sense of classical chinese energy work) who has not studied Sung Fa or Song Gong (the dynamic form of relaxation that is central to most of the ”soft” arts) you will be aggravating your negative conditioning more than shedding it. I mean spinal alignment, unconsciously lifting your shoulders or being overly tight around ribcage or the jaw etc. Post Standing is awesome and challenging but as with most seemingly simple techniques they are often the most powerful and overlooked. Look up Song Gong, there are good videos that explain a lot of details on how to move and what it feels like. Stay safe in your living area either way and good fortunes in picking up qigong!
  19. Jim (Marblehead) crossed over the line on 8 December...

Yo @Limahong good to have you back! I hope this won’t deter you from sharing your thoughts with your own energy, stay up my friend. Speaking of Marbs legacy and being: look at how gloriously this got resolved, Bums standing up for each other and acknowledging respect and decency with... *pause for dramatic effect* Respect and Decency! You guys are way cool, proud to call myself a Bum in such illustrious company!
  20. Someone will always be offended!

I know. I’m fairly hard to actually offend, even if i occasionally respond firmly to offensive shit. I’m not especially proud of letting my affect run a lite high in the madness of that thread but i wasn’t trying to start something with you Z, we got no beef as far as i’m concerned! I was making a riff-joke on the topic aimed at poking at Jim for being his clueless self while simultaneously expressing my skepticism at your low-hanging-fruit diss. Might have bitten off more than i could chew without drooling out the corners of my mouth. We cool?
  21. Isn’t the LDT and it’s own fullness one of those ”if you have to ask it aint happened yet” things? To me it seems like filling up dan tians and circulating qi isn’t knowable as such, but you’ll notice stuff happens when something has reached a point where it has to change. If you’ve evered dabbled in lockpicking OP i think half the challenge of lockpicking is to do the ”picking zen” state a lot: its when you just let your fingers listen and respond without even paying attention, it just gets done and you only notice it when the lock suddenly pops. You did it, you just let it happen and within seconds of your mind just letting it go its done. How? By letting go? Yes but how?! You got out the way and just did it. If this reference is totally obscure i will offer two things: 1) to try picking some cheap padlocks, it’s fun! 2) i’ve been drinking, whereupon i find myself to make a lot of sense internally but not always being able to do it externally, pardon a wanderers ramblings.
  22. He recently did promise with quite some repetition and emphasis that he will leave at some point, to me thats quite refreshing since he previously seemed quite adamant in starting a guerilla inspired non-consenting group therapy program. Where there is willingness to accept the mutability and impermanence of things it is possible to see a light in the darkness.
  23. Highly relevant. I keep not understanding why Jim is so steadfast in that this i truth applies only partially to a group he is an equal and invested member of. There is so much going on in his style of writing, the sort-of-hidden-but-not-really wish to be treated and respected as an equal while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge anyone informing him of their boundaries. Yet he claims he’s a successful therapist with so many notches in his belt he has to wear more than one. Odd right? Jim, you mention sexual abuse and long self observation, working on your psyche and building your strenght, but have you actually given yourself the opportunity to reflect and accept the original victimization? Have you given yourself opportunity to heal wounds truly and not just covering them? How are you doing? Lonely? Afraid? It’s not irony in my words, Everything triggered something that edges close to concern for you, honestly.
  24. Jim, besides being a bonafide sucka you are also behaving this way publically and in fully traceable format. You should consider that when you claim ideation of hitting your co-sparring partners here with your supposed arrows. Threat-display is often a way to communicate impending fight or flight, especially in a territorial setting where you are leader which is what you continously frame your interactions as. It is curious how you consider this entertaining. I aint buying the posturing, condescension or the glib use of superficial markers of status. There is more to this because ironically, to describe it crudely, there is less of you at work here. What is that about Jim? What drives this part of you? Undeniably you invest time and effort in this and from the degradation of structure in your writing i sense a building frustration or bordeom, perhaps masking a sublayer of anger. Are you starting to feel like a pressure cooker? I wonder what next in your acceleration.
