  1. The Way of the Warrior

The work Gurdjieff taught was all about becoming less under the influence of the stars and cosmic bodies, he described those people involved in war as under the influence of mass psychosis and much of the drive of his work was because of the horrors of living through two world wars and attempting to do all he could to uproot this mass psychosis or at least give some people the option not to take part in it. He described the will of people to destroy each others existence as an abomination of nature and one of the chief evils of Kunderbuffer/ego and the whole point of his teachings was so that mans hormones and drives could be expressed and transmuted without war.
  2. The Way of the Warrior

Someone with Taoist healing knowledge could do a huge amount of good for the military by using their knowledge to treat soldiers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, there are hundreds or maybe thousands of ex soldiers living in the hell of having experiences which overloaded their nervous system but then having no method to discharge that survival energy, they just get given drugs. I saw one programme about it where one therapist was describing some of his patients bodies as "literally vibrating" all day long with PTSD, but the military don't really know what to do with them, whereas some decent grounding Qigong could perhaps help . I know of one Canadian professor who used grounding Qigong to help PTSD victims from a Tsunami to good effect so it could be more widely applied if people were open enough to try it.
  3. Thanks for your reply snowmonki, it has helped clarify quite a few things for me. One of the issues I was having was how to use the intention to dissolve, as the instructions involve having an intention to let go of the block when you encounter it, but then having an intention for something to change appears to be contrary to just accepting something and witnessing it which seems to be the gentler method. So I guess the problem with me is that having the intention to change something can get caught up in non acceptance and more aggressive sorts of intentions towards myself. Generally I have found BK Frantzis information about Water Method dissolving very good, especially the CD set where he talks about a lot of things hardly anyone else seems to be talking about such as resolving pre verbal traumas, problems with spacing out dissociation and womb impressions, it was a relief to find his work as he was talking about healing on a very important level many other people just seem to skip and ignore.
  4. No offence intended I have no problem with Christianity and I read the bible myself, I just have a problem with Church interpretations of some areas like anger and sex and what that has done to the fabric of society. What I mean by this for example is that I live in a Christian culture where people were taught to "turn the other cheek" but if you turn the other cheek from a place of fear or disempowerment it makes you ill and neurotic and is no good for anyone involved.
  5. I received my copy of the Light Warrior book and DVD in the post yesterday and have enjoyed reading it so far, it is more like a Shaman book than many other Qigong books I have read which is a good thing in my opinio, having done some Shamanistic work in the past I have some understanding of terms like intent and non liniar time and space which help I think. I have a question about the Stillness movement method described in the book, you do the setup with bringing your awareness to the dan tian placing hands, doing the three movements etc, then after that is done do you keep bringing your mind back down to the Dan tian as the focus point of the meditation? or do you literally just let the mind go and do what it wants?because my monkey mind won't keep awareness of the dan tian without efforts but efforts are opposite of just BEing as far as I understand. I get why you really need a teacher in person for this but that is not possible at the moment so I'll have to make do with books and DVD for now. My first attempt generated a lot of heat which I hope was a good thing, it felt good anyway.
  6. I have been doing standing Water Method meditation and done a bit of more regular Buddhist meditation, but I find the most relaxing is just to sit doing nothing and allow whatever is there to exist, the problem is that usually results in me falling asleep. Is there anything you recommend?
  7. Yeah secondary gain, that's the problem as even though these things are absorbing most of my life force and vastly reducing my quality of life I still don't want to let them go for whatever reason. Interesting website, it reminded me of a woman called Jill Taylor who wrote a book about experiencing Nirvana and oneness like states while having a stroke and had to exist for a short time almost only in the right side of her brain. Unfortunately there are not many Qigong teachers near where I live; there is one guy who I went to see some time ago who taught an outer form of Qigong but I didn't feel it helped much except surface level relaxation, I have learned a lot of movement methods over the years though but I never felt they went deep enough to make any significant change to my state. But then the deeper methods like the Water Method seem to exacerbate my symptoms which is very difficult as I have to go to work every day to earn a living and try to interact with other people and also it is hard to tell if they are actually helping or just making me feel worse by stirring up energies without resolving them. I have ordered the Stillness Movement book and dvd so I will be able to test if anything from them will help this sort of situation although I understand it is not really intended to be totally learned from books and dvd so it is not a reliable test, but I can report how I get on with them. Thanks for your replies.
  8. I think your perception of being harassed here is down to your rigid attachment to your system more than anything else ie it's all your karma and attachments and doesn't have much to do with the intention of most of the people who reply.
  9. The difference is that in Buddhism if you end up in a hell realm you can always get out of it, there is always the possibility for redemption and you don't always need Buddhist teachings to do so, even for people like Hitler there is possible redemption. Whereas with Falun Dafa if you show a negative attitude towards the Falun Dafa during the Fa rectification you are done for, you are finshed and condemned for ever, similar to the eternal hell fires of Christianity as Li himself wont help you on judgement day. So Li says be favourable to the him personally and to the Fa or you are finished, ie its fear based emotional blackmail to follow his teachings.
  10. FD is a path similar to the style of the old Abrahamic religions, it is lacking the wisdom of Buddhism and Taoism especially on the teachings of compassion, for example Buddhism doesn't categorise people into evil and good, instead there is ignorance and delusion, one of the main reasons for this is that they realise that threats and fear based methods like threats of hell and annihilation don't actually help people develop, those sorts of threats create guilt, fear and neurosis in people which retards their growth, so it is not compassionate to use those sorts of terms or fear based philosophy. People are called ignorant instead of evil because Buddhists have to foresight to see that someones harmful actions hurt themselves as much as anyone else and as all people want to be happy it is just ignorance rather than evil which causes it, there is no judgement involved.
  11. Yeah I don't really expect to change anyones mind I just hope humanity can eventually move out of the outdated religious methods of thinking which separates people in to good and bad, deserving and underserving. You can see why Falun Dafa has done so well, you have to give Li credit for his cunning by presenting FD as eastern on the surface which sucks people in and makes them think it's a noble path, but underneath it is almost old testament style in it's philosophy which hooks people in with the weapons of guilt and fear and also convinces people they are involved with something much bigger than themselves in biblical prophetic proportions. I would love to feel that I was was involved in a movement of biblical importance and I was special, just like the Islamic Jihadi's and their holy war, it would make life so clear and simple, but I realise that it is just imagination and distracts you from the real painful hard work of self development, which breaks down barriers rather than erects them. I can see why this flourished in the spiritual vacuum that is China though, but I really hope it doesn't gain too much power as it is regressive
  12. Do you not see the contraction in your own words? when I first read Falun Dafa I though it was great preaching compassion to all people, but then the philosophy underneath contradicts that by telling some people they are evil and will be wiped out, so intact FD is contradictory and doesn't practise compassion to all people.
  13. Why do you say that about Buddhism? If a path limits your compassion I think it can only bring you so far towards the truth. Falun Dafa is clearly limited in it's compassion as it has no compassion for homosexuals or "evil" people, it categorises people into deserving and non deserving therefore it doesn't have any knowledge of detached non discriminative love. So once your heart opens up beyond the limit FD puts on it you cant help but see it doesn't represent the whole truth.
  14. Li is not the Messiah he is just a very naughty boy!
  15. So you guys think these things exist is separate entities apart from your own mind? For me all the demons I know of are my personal demons and in my experience to try deal with them you need attention, gentleness, compassion and to look them in the eye without running away in order to absorb their energy into a part of you and make you more whole so they stop causing you problems. This is my understanding of what Jesus was doing when he tackled demons, he would help reintegrate split off parts of peoples consciousness back into their psyche. To fight them with weapons would mean to push them away and separate them further which would just bury them deeper and cause you more problems as you become even more blind to what they are up to.
  16. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

There aren't any visualization involved with the water method, I don't really believe in them either to be honest, I think the idea is that by placing your light attention on blocks in your body your attention melts the block and the downward movement of energy helps to release the stuck energy to the earth, the downward flushing helps to ground you which is important for healing. Im quite liking this method at the moment but I have ordered the book about the stillness movement method which people have mentioned on this site to see what thats like, although I should really just stick to one practice for a while really.
  17. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

You adopt the same standing stance as Zhan Zhuang but instead of doing nothing with your mind you scan your body starting at the top of your head down your body letting go of any tension, strength, blocks or any vague sensations you find along the way to the bottom of your feet. So far I have found the lighter you use your attention the better it works and I seem to resolve some tensions every time I dissolve them, or at least my tension patterns seem to change for every session. BK Frantzis books give a better description.
  18. The 100 day Meditation Experiment

I have changed to only doing the standing Water Method every day which I feel is really good, I feel I can go deeper every day. I don't know how how you do the celibacy thing though, doing Qigong and moving all that energy makes you horny as hell
  19. When I met him I was in the midst of very poor mental health, full of fear, anger and depression but it didn't matter so I wouldn't worry, you can't blow anything. Im not sure what you are expecting to happen though as he is a monk and a down to earth man who laughs a lot, I wouldn't expect fireworks or satori type experiences, rather something more subtle if anything at all.
  20. Stillness Movement Uk Workshop

Hi am am currently practising the Water Method in the UK but am interested in finding out more information about the stillness movement, can you tell me does the method involve visualisation techniques or breathing methods? and does it involve sinking the Qi to remove blockages and to heal?
  21. I think he just recommended people didn't practice Shugden as there could be harmful consequences for a person, he didn't ban anything he just spoke out about what he considers potentially harmful practice, its not like he is going to send over the police or anything if you continue, if you like it and it works just continue your practice, what the Dalai Lama says isnt important. I had the honour to meet the Dalai Lama once, I thought it was going to be quite a formal occasion but he just came up to me and gave me a big whack on the arm I wouldn't worry about how you feel even if you feel totally depressed it doesn't matter, if you want to do anything just be mindful.
  22. Out of curiosity has Falun Dafa produced any more masters or teachers on the same level as Li? I'd say that a good test of someones system is whether they can lead people to realise the same realizations they had, if they are claiming exclusivity to certain levels then they are probably not telling the truth as the ultimate truth of existance is available to anyone but very few people have the skill to be able to teach it well. This is all that distinguished the Buddha from many other realised beings, he was just a man but he had the skill to teach what he realised to lead people to the same realisations.
  23. It has been stated in a number of posts and prophecies here that Falun Gong is the only way to cultivate to a high level, in order to believe that and propogate that idea you have to have studied all of the other ways in great depth in order to be able to comment of their level, so if you are going to repeat that idea you have to be able to back it up with valid criticisms.
  24. Have you read the Korean? because this has to be one of the most obscure texts ever written as I can't find a single thing written on the entire Web about it in any language which doesn't come from a Falun Dafa website, how do you know its not just made up or even written by Li himself?
