    Is what?
  2. Taoist Meditation

    A truly dangerous beast.
  3. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

A master vaudevillian, a ballroom dancer and a classical violinist? I'll be the classical violinist, I guess. You?
  4. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

Of course it's not. Who claimed they were the same?
  5. Fighting multiple opponents

Don't know which State you currently live in but I would check the local laws...
  6. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

Annnd? That's it? That's the secret you think you hold? <sigh>
  7. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

Oh, I believe you may be mistaken -- that's never been the point! This isn't a question of whether "sitting & breathing" is the same as "actual meditation." The point, rather, is your insistence that the MorePieGuy Posse (the "MPGP") are somehow in sole possession of the secret instructions for "actual meditation." This has been a root element in the continued disagreements: the claim by the MPGP that not only does the MPGP have a secret key to unlock the secrets of the universe but the MPGP have an exclusive on that secret. I think both parts of that statement are suspect. Do you see what I'm saying?

Setup is part of the math, you see. You weren't given a prepared problem like, "How much is 2+2?" Instead, the problem is one you must suss out and frame. Assumptions matter, my friend. In fact, assumptions are both pivotal and revealing.
  10. Long men pai nei gong and mo pai

Nope. I rarely watch TV. I use most of my spare time practicing.

What evidence do you have to suggest you do more than "sit and breathe?" You have presented none, or provided anything to suggest otherwise. Your arithmetic is as solid as your grasp of scientific principles.

So one person sits and breathes an hour a day -- that's about $60 a month. Another person sits and breathes ten hours at a stretch but only once a month -- that's about $20 a month. Arithmetic.
  13. Fighting multiple opponents

Two questions which are worth considering upon entering any new situation or environment -- how might I escape and how might I defend myself. Part of this is a threat analysis. "Listening" is all-encompassing, and that includes situational awareness.
  14. Fighting multiple opponents

Don't go to riots. TaoMeow gave you the right answer. Kar3n did, too. And 9th. Actually, you've gotten lots of good and serious advice. Don't go there. If you find yourself there, run. If you have to fight for your life, make sure the other guy is, too (krav maga is brutal). A gun is good. Bagua is designed for multiple assailants (but you need to study it before you move into a bad neighborhood...) I would add a few thoughts of my own. The best way to keep from losing a fight is to not have one. (Personally, I haven't lost a fight since I was 14, and that one was when I was jumped in a hallway by six who told me it was because of the color of my skin. I also haven't been in a fight since I was 21, and that time I was jumped in a parking lot by four, two of whom were taken to the hospital.) Think about improvised weapons, both using them and defending against them. Keep moving! Stay on your feet, especially with multiple assailants or the possibility of someone else stepping in -- the world's best BJJ takedown is suicide if someone is there to stomp your head. Final thought would be, don't wield a weapon unless you are truly prepared to use it.
  15. The limits of free speech

Curious, isn't it, that the federal government simply decided it owns broad swaths of the electromagnetic spectrum and it gets to decide who can use light, when and how? I don't recall the States ever granting the delegation of such authority.

  20. Spaced out

Naaah, it was a business trip. Flew into the Madrid airport about 4AM and drove a rental car to a nearby town where we had acquired another company. Met a German colleague who also flew in and we spent the week helping the Spanish IT folks integrate their computers and systems into the corporate environment. We did have lots of fun while we were there but it neither involved "Spanish Harlem" nor the motel across the street from the office which had been converted into an establishment for "ladies of the night" (although they seemed to be working around the clock, based on the traffic...)
  21. Well, you seem to demand that your conversations be uninterrupted so having them via PM or in your PPF (where you can hide unwanted posts post facto) is a reasonable suggestion.
  22. Eclipse

Almost halfway to totality here. A little mood music playing...
  23. Wait, wait, wait! You started an entire thread about this enormous dilemma about how you couldn't go to a store because you are so advanced that you can't control yourself when you see a "well endowed" female but you didn't even know what the term meant?!? Superb!
  24. That's really what you think "an authentic kundalini awakening" is?
