  1. Franz Bardon's system

No, Bardon was Czech - or let's say his host personality. Reportedly (I think hints to that can be found in Frabato) he was a Walk-In (soul that inhabited a personality whose owner soul left, so to speak). He was born in Austria / Hungary and died in Czech. So he would rather have a slavic cultural personality background which is quite different from the Chairman. He was inprisoned by the Nazis.
  2. ex-Western magician

. I can't tell you for sure because -you make up the meaning of "realist" in your thinking -I know only little -I didn't follow one branch to its end There is ain, ain soph, ain soph aur "before" the tree of life... but this is all not graspable for the mind so little point using it in a discussion. I read in your linked thread and agree with konchog uma saying there:
  3. ex-Western magician

(It=some branches of qabalah) Some doors remain close until somebody sees them - and knocks.
  4. ex-Western magician

There are different branches in kabballah / qabalah. Probably some of it don't match your judgment of being realist in your terms but share in the buddhist essence if you dig deep enough. Hear are some concerns uttered against enochian magic by a qabalist: http://www.lvx.org/f...ges/letter1.pdf Intention is key.
  5. I was recommended from several sites to go backwards through my day at the end of it, recollecting the impressions, thoughts, words, deeds... I had a hard time to keep up writing daily. The time I did so (like I currently do), i.e. enter my daily self-observations before preparing for the bedtime, I had more determination, motivation and self-awareness, even if I just wrote down that I didn't accomplish what I planned and how I wasted my time. I note self-observations, thoughts, ideas, major events and / or activities. I track f.ex. -my felt energy level / my libido (sexually and transformed) -my practice time on different areas in my life (study, job, outdoor, moving/sport/gong, spiritual, play and restoration, relationships...) -my sleeptime, when I go to bed and when I get up -my weight and my diet (like: liquid, raw, vegan or vegeterian, supplementals) -goal/intention, difficulty, overcoming, correction and gratitude of the day -efficiency: how many of the set targets I achieved (roughly) and Eisenhower Matrix (how much time went into urgent/important, non urgent/important, urgent/non important, neither urgent nor important) I tried different forms (sheets, handwritten books and different software, freestyle or tightly guided by parameters). I stuck to software so I could search for keywords and compare the changes over time. I now use a (portable windows) software called smartdiary (there is a free edition which you might like to try out). It allows to track and display freely configurable life factors in a versatile way. The programmer is really friendly, updating it rather often and answering to all mails with feature requests I sent him... I also put down notes in the morning about what I remember from the night (dreams mostly:-). If I can make it timewise. That often brings more subconcious memories and "hidden hints" to the daylight - sometimes only later on. My journaling takes me about 15 to 20 minutes a day, but forces me to face responsability for my time. By doing so at the end of a day (before the harvest is transfered to the central self and the body adjusted according to the imprints received throughout the day), I go to bed with a feeling of having added some experience, some work, some difference to my life and sometimes the life of others too:-). Even if I had to realize that I missed the mark and got entrapped again by old habits - I knew it at least and had the chance to release it from the subconcious. Without doing so I might miss a fruit. The fruit of fruits seems to be self-awareness. I very rarely go and read my old entries. It's mainly a tool to remind me of myself.
  6. thanks for the second link. Valuable points again. Also I am glad I read here to have picket up the info on MRI findings. In fact... I once had a landlord lady who was a firm Christian studying the bible and preaching others. She respected me not to eat meat and told me that according to the scripture (Isaiah?), it was since the flood that people were spoiled and had to start eat meat therefore. The quotes of Paul that I read rather deal with whether the meat should be skipped because it was dedicated to idols before - than to the question of meat in general. I do think he just accepted that at that time many people "had" to eat meat and knew he couldn't change it. As he also adviced for staying celibate but didn't want to exclude those who felt drawn to marriage. I am often asked why I am a vegetarian (not advertising it much but I have to tell when I am invited for diner). I normally used to give reluctant answers taking care not to offend the host or somebody round by revealing how I see things (why make enemies). I then mentionned health reasons or that I was brought up vegetarian but didn't rise the ethical or spiritual questions so that I would not have to ashame them or that they would not have to make themselves to feel "lower". It's difficult enough to stop myself lying to myself (just in general) so how could I expect other people to change their meat attitudes because of a moral reminder of my side. But maybe that's some subject to change in my future conversations. BTW very recently a study was published ranking the US life expectation and health on the lowest rank of all western countries with highest cost for the health system though. Thanks for all who read this and don't eat meat. Thanks for honoring your genetic siblings (9x %). I'm off the discussion so that I can continue to handle my life:-)
  7. hi turtle shell I also kept the link you posted with the old testament's quotes. However, I don't base my life on the bible nor do I claim to be a taoist nor do I consider my point of view to be the only valid one. Actually I didn't want to judge people eating meat, just remembering the fact of responsability for how animals they use are treatened. I am not worried about forms dying but I would prefer to see less suffering. I agree for each their own. So to the animals. Anyway, this is not my thread and my conclusion is, that discussions are rarely changing somebodys mind on deeper issues. That's ok.
  8. Thanks WhiteWolfRunningOnAir for bringing up the subject and especially for compiling all those biblical hints for vegetarianism. I will keep it as a reference. To my regret, most Christians I know are little or unreflected meat eaters. The seemingly more dedicated ones among them are at least aware, that the recommended ideal is to live without meat. I can see your points as valid, but the question of the first cause is difficult. It makes me think of how Rudolf Steiner described the karmic effect of this animal torturing to uglily bounce back in the future of mankind's development. Or how Gurdjieff mentionned how the US fall will be due to bad nourishment. If you read this thread and eat meat, please see your responsability for the degenerated life and suffering an industrially cultured animal has to experience. I also can confirm from my own experience that I felt more "pure" when I went completely vegetarian. "As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields." -Leo Tolstoy
  9. Whether Regardie left the dross is questionable. Here is two letters to Israel Regardie, uttering some concern: http://kcbventures.c...nts/letter1.pdf http://kcbventures.c...nts/letter2.pdf Some criticize him for having broken the oath to keep secret the golden dawn teachings. I am not about to judge that decision. It certainly made a difference and brought about responsability. There is an interview of his "pupil" Christopher Hyatt with him: http://de.scribd.com...ughts-and-Views That's an honest answer. If you ponder the statements, some unique meaning - fitting to your life and concepts of it - will emerge. Often the magic in the most fundamental traits of human life is overlooked.
  10. why is magic used in hermetic traditions: to bring about a transformation of the aspirant, to attune to the real self, crystallizing from above. magic: the art of effecting change at will. Eliphas Levi: "Nothing can resist the will of man when he knows what is true and wills what is good." "All the magic is in the will." "To practice magic is to be a quack; to know magic is to be a sage."
  11. loss of emotion? WTF

Hi Mike I think I know what you are talking about. My first impression was that your soul is calling you - to listen deeper within what really matters for your life. Other people eating worms, receiving more money, shooting pupils or a christmas party don't do such a difference to the zone of your concern - so why should you feel much about them just because other react like preprogrammed or for the sake of "socially correct" appearance. If you allow yourself to feel empty and to realize that something undefinable is missing in your life, you might get in deeper contact with the one calling for you. I wish you to trust in that chance. There will be a kind of thirst again that guides you. David
  12. The Tao Of Nietzsche

@GrandmasterP: yes, that's right, that's the meaning in the English us of this originally German (Chair-Man:-) word. But int German it's a very rarely heard word which then isn't connotated with that meaning. So also concluding from the context, Nietzsche just meant human meat that doesn't move (not relating to being "determined"). @Marblehead Yes, I live close to Basel where Nietzsche spent some time and I also lived in the Engadin (somewhere high up in the southeastern Swiss alps) where Nietzsche met Zarathustra walking through the forests:-). With no intent of following / copying. To go the same way like Nietzsche might mean to just go one's very own. And of course not trusting his foughts. I don't mind weather he was right or wrong (if it is at all possible to be so), he (being born with a libra son:-) was in service of balance anyway with the impulses he brought to the human mind. @bubble: Interesting note that makes sense to me. Buddhism today seems to me - as is Christianity - a distortion of the original impulse brought by the "supermen" that laid its foundations, but still hold valuable keys if one drills through to the pure intent at their beginnings. Nice to see that the taoist quality of Nietzsches mind was recognized and an Interesting thread, just started to read more of it.
  13. The Tao Of Nietzsche

It means (my unpolished quick translation): To sit as little as possible; to believe in no thought that was not born under open sky (outdoors) and while moving freely - in which the muscles don't have a feast on their own. All prejudices stem from the entrails. Das sitzfleisch (not what it means in English, just meat that sits too much) - I already said that once - is the actual sin against the holy spirit. Whole text: http://www.magister....tz/nietz01g.htm Have a good start in a fruiful new cycle! D'avid Edit 10.01.2013: I corrected an error.
  14. What are you listening to?

  15. The myth of the eight-hour sleep

I have a question to Gerard. I read your recommendations about when to sleep and when to eat with great interest. I am giving it a try, getting to sleep before 23 / 11 pm and getting up somewhat between 3 am and 6 am and not to eat past 6 pm. I hope to need less sleep by adjusting my sleeping times. However, I ask myself and you, how to interpret those time informations in connection with daylight saving time. Obviously, nature doesn't just jump an hour, but we (in Switzerland and Central Europa from where I am writing) advanced the clock for an hour last sunday. So 3 am in your recommendation = 2 am during the summer semester? Thanks for dissipating my confusion. David
  16. vegan & being full.

@mat black: I eat millet a lot. I pursue an almost vegan diet. The carb craving from other grains possibly stem from the gluten. I've heart that wheat as most grains from which bread is produced contain highly addictive opiod peptids, that are found in diary products as well (they're there to build a bond betweend mother animal and the suckling babe. Millet is rich in silicon oxides which are considered beneficial for the lighter bodies.
  17. I hope it's ok to ask a kind of commercial question... I wanted to buy the Spring Forest Fundamentals with the Level I DVD but couldn't from the webpage as I can just pay with paypal not with credit card directly. Is there somebody willing to sell and ship me this set or just the Level 1 DVD against a payment by paypal? I would pay up to / maximum the new price (there is currently a 35% holiday discount on springforestqigong.com).
  18. somebody selling SFQ Level I?

Thanks for the clarification. The Level 1 DVD would be sufficient. I just like visual instructions.
  19. Do Ya'll guys drink?

no alcohol. what should be a reason for it? I drink maybe half a glass of wine a year for the sake of social appearance towards others to avoid being judged. Alcohol weakens the etheric body (which you work with in qigong) and hinders the workings of the linkage to the (higher) ego. Rudolf Steiner ("founder" of antroposophy) wrote some enlightening explanations about its mechanisms, some of it is translated to English.
  20. somebody selling SFQ Level I?

thanks joe for the encouragement. @humbleone, yes, I know, I did, but why pay more than double?
  21. somebody selling SFQ Level I?

debit cards I have (like maestro ec = eurocard, but that's rather for stores than online), I also had a credit card (still active with paypal) that I lost and didn't order anew. I am from Europe, we don't use credit cards so often here. I just thought I give it a try whether somebody has that dvd lying round without use and purpose and likes to sell. I will get another credit card otherwise.
  22. somebody selling SFQ Level I?

I know, I did so, but on springforestqigong.com I am not able to select paypal as a mean of payment. Thanks though for the hint...
  23. Jung Personality Test

sorry, Jungs attitude towards Jews or the collective nazi mind at his times has little to do with the topic here, imho. I live close to Chairmany and I don't like how discussions of sirius issues in this culture are often sabotaged by some kind of off-topic nazi accusations. I "scored" INFP - Introverted 11% Intuitive 38% Feeling 25% Perceiving 11%.
  24. Kunlun Book

I bought a French version of the current edition, with glossy colored images... I figured out before reading it completely that this is not my cup of tea ie. practice. If somebody is interested in it, I was willing to give it away against coverage of my expenses which are about USD 25 plus shipping (from Switzerland, I would have to figure that out, maybe it could be sent as letter mail).
  25. Suggestions for Music to Meditate to.

I too prefer silence, as the senses are involved already enough the rest of the time. If you mean relaxation by meditation there is many types of music that could help. Not necessarily just the relaxative ones. If you mean flow of the stream of knowledge about something (or nothing), I guess the stream can unfold better without given outer stimuli. But some frequencies that I like to listen to are those modulations by john brian vale (they were available on amazon). They to me seem to be free from emotional programming.
