  1. I have a good friend who is young (25) and has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and she decided to not use the medication the doctor prescribed. She is now looking into what other options she can use, I asked her what and she says anything. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, herbs, meditation etc. I just want others to help us see options we cannot see.

    Thank You ^_^

  2. I had been cold, especially my hands, for most of my life. This might have roots in energy blocks, I am not sure. But something that did (or does) help me is coconut oil, to be more specific organic unrefined (sometimes called virgin) coconut oil. I had read that it has a warming effect on the body, though I started including it in my diet for other reasons. After I started eating it have not had problems feeling cold, even in my hands.

I'll check that out. I've been mainly using flaxseed oid lately due to gallstone problems.

Sounds like a circulation problem, which is often connected with deficiencies in the lungs and/or heart. It may be related to blockages that arise from incorrect practice, poor breathing or posture, low energy from long-term poor lifestyle, emotional or physical trauma, or other things. Hard to say with just one symptom!

Wow. Probably many of those. This past year I've been turning my life around in many ways. Including losing weight. I was unhealthy for so long and now I eat more local organic foods or just more fresh in general at the moment and running three times a week and walking more.

    what's the practice of dreaming ? :)

It's kind of like meditating. I learned of it from a friend who practices Toltec stuff from Theun Mares books. I am starting the first stage where you teach your body to relax and then you watch your thoughts allowing yourself to fall into just feeling. Then dreams arise out of it. They've shown me meaningful things whether its from someone coming to me and talking about what I am concerned about or hearing music and starting to sing my harmony to its song.

  3. Thank you lol. For some reason I hadn't thought to look at past threads. I used to meditate everyday but now its on and off because I am practicing dreaming right now. I've been meaning to restart meditation fully again though. I can tell I need to.

  4. Lately this past year my hands seem to get cold very easily. I though it was due to low blood pressure, but I have seen a nurse lately and they say I am perfectly fine. Another friend said that it may be due to energy blockages and told me how to open them but I haven't been successful maybe because I am not understanding what I need to do. I was thinking of seeing an acupuncturist, but I thought I would see what people think and suggest.

  5. Funny the only reason I'm reading and responding to this is because I had this intense dream that woke me early. My mom said, "Why are you up?" I said: "I had a bad dream.... well I didn't feel bad but bad things happened." Essentially I was on this boat with this mafioso dude and it's kind of complicated but the two of us were part of a big secret. Then for some reason he went to the back of the boat with several other people and they all got killed. It was disturbing to dream of so many deaths by gun shot. I was trying to think what caused it.

Wow Maykea brought Drew back =0 lol. Interesting dream.

  6. Hopefully he will be back, unfortunately he got a bit overexcited and we had to give him a few days "time out" Since he can jump to conclusions perhaps he thinks he got banned

Yeah, I dropped by his blog and he thinks he is banned. We'll see if he comes by again.

He is also a huge advocate of meditating full lotus too. I meditate full lotus, and thats how I found this site because I was googling full lotus. It helps me have better posture and focus better. But lately I've been practicing dreaming. I reall like your enthusiasm in learning, lol, we are similar in that way. I dive into learning especially when I love something.

  7. Hellooo and welcome. I am new too and yes meditation is a great place to start. Especially for my head that can run a million thoughts per second and needs to calm down at times and get a clear view on things. So have fun and watch all the interesting people on here cause they know a lot of things. <3

  8. Nice Fox !

I shared a tent with a fox one night - I guess it thought I was less os a danger than the pack of dogs that were chasing it. Since that night the fox's of the forrest have not ran when I walk the trails. I've heard that they can smell a gun for some distance away but I think they can feel people that ain't right. Birds say hi to me too.

Maybe you are a fox too? lol.

ovarian breathing can technically be used toward the purpose of stopping menstruation, as do many other techniques. used alone, i don't think it will by default have the action of stopping menstruation, but perhaps as part of other practices...

the point is not to trick your body, but to redirect the energies inside your body so as to not "waste" so much energy toward the production and maturation of eggs for ovulation to occur every month. the same way a man may practice semen retention in order to reduce the amount of energy loss in ejaculation (both practices aim to retain jing in order to use it to transmute into shen). now, with both practices, it can have negative side effects if not done properly... i am only assuming menstruation reduction can do that, i have never spoken to anyone directly who has practiced that, but from what i know of female fertility, it is a given. that is why there are many precise techniques to go along with such practices in order to properly redirect this new energy, that was previously used for the reproductive cycle. many hormonal imbalance can cause menstruation/ovulation to stop, or be greatly reduced, and this is not something to aim for, as it can cause long term health problems. its all about how it is done. and i imagine this balance is very fine when it comes to women, and is probably why this is not a practice that is taught widely or that you can just learn from a book.

Yeah. The reason I started ovarian breathing was because a friend said it would reduce the energy loss. I tried starting last year but didn't keep up so didn't feel any results. I just started again so won't see anything fully for 3 months. I don't care for stopping menstruation because I want to be able to appreciate the natural process our female bodies goes through. Even though it isn't fun at times lol.

  9. :)

The female deer exercises will stop menstruation. They regulate or "trick" the body into thinking it is pregnant and nursing. Once you read the link you below at UmaaTantra.com you will immediately know why if you know about hormonal feed back loop in females.

I don't know if I would want to trick my body. The female body follows a life cycle every month that goes through destruction and creation. This allows you to renew yourself every month. If your body thinks its pregnant all the time then you never renew yourself and your body and mind get confused. I don't know what ovarian breathing does but its suppost to help stop menstruation too and I've been trying that and its been lessening the symptoms so far, but technically I haven't been too stressed either.

  10. Yes, I met one singer when I was in choir and we were performing with an orchestra and he was a prima donna and it intimidated all us youngins and no one could say anything to him. Me and my sister were able to at least say he sang very well. lol Going from a calm collected clarinet player to brooding over guitar. wow. lol. I love guitar and hope to finally pick one up one day.

  11. Hi Aria,

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

I had my gall bladder removed about a year ago. Following that my GP monitored my liver counts which remained high. Eventually, that led to me having a hepatologist (liver specialist) perform a detailed scan using ultrasound. It showed that my common bile duct (which must remain in place even after gall bladder removal) was full of sludge and billary stones adherent to the walls. Getting rid of this is what I cured myself for.

Let it be clear that I am no medical doctor, but IMHO the problem with typical gall stones in the gall bladder is that they can get so big that there is no way they would make it through the common bile duct - thus, the danger, so to say, is that if the gall bladder starts to get rid of a large gall stone which then gets stuck and effectively blocks the flow of bile (through the common bile duct) this can lead to serious conditions and even death.

My condition led me to looking into alternatives, thus what I know today I didn't know before I had my gall bladder removed. If you ask me whether I would have had my gall bladder removed in hindsight, the answer is that I don't know. But what I do know is that I would have done some things differently: Before agree to the next step, I would have wanted to request a full, detailed scan of the liver, gall bladder and ducts to rule out other possibilities, such as e.g. a clogged up (common) bile duct.

Finally, you may find it interesting that several doctors told me that gall stones and sludge is not only a matter of diet. Diet plays a role, and as you point out, fatty foods tell your brain to tell the liver to produce more bile, but the actual congestion (i.e. clogging up, formation of stones and adherence too the walls of ducts) may well be genetic.

Best regards and wishing you all the best,

    -matt

I have researched foods that help dissolve the gallstones and the change in diet helps a lot right now. So we will see when I feel its time to try something. I'll probably talk to a doctor to get pictures first too. But for now I know the stones are probably still too big to do anything, but thanks for showing me there's another alternative, cause I totally refuse to give up an organ. ^_^

  12. Hello and welcome

You helped your gallbladder??? I had a gallstone attack last November and I refused surgery cause why would I let people take out an organ that could be helped? I mainly avoid fatty foods but I'll have to look through that article when my brain can handle it more. I want to get rid of the gallstones now that I don't have pain anymore and now that I know how to just eat healthy lol.

  13. Learning to trust what you feel is something I am practicing all the time. It seems to be something lost in society cause of the need for higher education, but following what you feel is following what you know even if you don't know it yet and that is a way to gain true knowledge instead of just studying a book. Its easier for females to follow their feelings than males cause we are naturally chaotic which is also why we are great multitaskers. Kinda why it took 15min to type this and I forgot what else I was going to say lol.

Raz you feel like a wolf ^_^
