  1. Maybe the Serpent represents the duality of Good and Evil? We can clearly see the dual nature of the Serpent throughout all of the Religions and Mythologies. It can be positive or negative, destructive or creative, Take your pick?

  2. I like your response! Especially: 'The new age minister above was not wrong, but his timing was off. She needed practical help right then, later, perhaps some perspective.' -It's important to make sense, find meaning and to try to learn from life's hardships, it's only when your coming out of the tunnel and don't see yourself as a victim and begin to reclaim your personal power that you can begin to see the bigger picture. When someone is in a full blown crisis they can't see the wood for the trees. I agree it's all in the timing!

  3. If you want to develop punching power...i say drop the pushups and spend the time practicing uh...... your punching speed and technique! The real power is delivered in the final inch or two of the motion - "one inch punch"

For that devastating punch you'd better train your legs cos it's the muscle power anchored from the ground up that is transmitted through the shoulders and arms that delivers the maximum power.

  4. There are some real concerns here on this thread. Having too much money to the point of only spending time managing and making money, reduces the time to improve your personal potential. Taoism teaches money and attachments are symptoms of ego that distract and prevent a person from finding enlightenment. Instead of worrying about what you may lose, try looking at it in a different way! I reckon you should give all your spare cash away now while you've still got it! Do this and you will profit with a sense of worthiness that money can't buy, Just think how good you'd feel? Better than losing it all in the possible oncoming financial meltdown, Surely. My perspective. Take with a pinch of salt! :D

  5. What a question! When is it morally just and right to kill?

I will have to think on this a bit.

(Please remember that whatever reply I come up with will be based on the fact that I spent 20 years in the Army defending (Yeah, I know) my country.)

    Peace & Love!

  6. 'Those who wrongfully kill men are only putting their weapons into the hands of others who will in turn kill them.'

Taoism. Treatise on Response and Retribution.

So when is it morally just and right?

  7. Spectrum -

'To see your true nature in each shot is the Great Way of Peace. This is all you need.

Your grip should be like autum leaves blown in a storm.

Manifest great deeds by breaking the rules.

Masters do not rely on subterfuge.'

    Masters don't. :D

  8. 'Regarding myself, not even pretending that I am even close to sagehood, feel it is my right to defend myself. Any attack will be compensated for. This is consistent with Taoist Philosophy, IMO.'

    I concur!

  9. Taoist Gods exacted strict punishment for sinners and the Ten courts of the Underworld exacted retribution for human misdeed for the karmic guilt accumulated during his or her lifetime. This concern with moral retribution has shaped Taoism....So from a personal standpoint can one exact moral retribution? or is this solely the Domain of theTaoist Gods??
