  1. Hi all;

I bring back this topic. I would like to know if any of our Bums went to Wudang Shan with this generous offer of Teacher Hu and Dao Zhen?

It was back in 2008. This year 2010, Teacher Hu again offers 2 workshops in Wudang Shan.

If yes then could you please share your experience and possibly the teaching of Teacher Hu?

If no then should we ask Teacher Hu to sponsor of our Bum again this year?

    In kind regards.

  2. Question to everybody...

I wonder why the small circulation is taught first. Why not just do the grand circulation at the same time?

    Here is my two cents:

As Kate and Sykk mentioned: traditionally we need to fully build up Qi in the Dantien. Once Dantien is full, it will first travel in the Microcosmic Orbit not to the legs because of the lotus sitting. That is why Microcosmic Orbit is likely to obtain first. Since you follow some of Dr. Yang instructions, you may want to read his book titled "Qigong for Health and Martial Arts" for more details.

    I hope it helps.

    Best.

  3. Hi,

some weeks ago there was a post about an exercise that works as the inversion table: you actually stand with your hands on the floor, your body straight but inclined on the wall where you place your feet.

I find the exercise quite good, now I'd like to have a look at the link that was in the post but I cannot find it with the search function.

    Hi there,

I think the exercise #6 of this routine is what you are looking for:

The thing I admire Dr. Bookspan the most is her approach is very fun and you can apply it every moment of your life.

    I hope that helps.

    Best.

  4.

I regard your books as key texts. Written with heart as well as wisdom and clarity.

    I would like second this.

I just want to thank Eric for his book titled "Taoist Yoga and Sexual Energy".

    Hope you are well.

  5. Hi Mal,

Cbr1000rr here! Bikes are good fun.

Anyway onto your question I think it is an important one and I just chanced upon an article that resounded very much with me which I thought I'd share.

Hope it is relevant to what you are looking for.

    Good topic!

    I like the posted article.

The article is short and I would like to read more. Could anyone advise where I can read more about the stages of awakening?

  6. Does any know how much time daily a serious student of Master Wang spend on doing below practices?

Moving : Peng Heng Gong (Practice with trees), Method to exchange qi naturally (walking practice) etc

Standing : different Zhan Zhuangs, External 5 elements to open the channels, Bagua Yi Sphere.

Sleeping : 13 different sleeping forms

Sitting : Yin Xian Fa, Method of Intelligence

    Thank you!

  7. This is so true. In most cases, I suggest, that it is we who make our own cages. Funny thing is is that in most cases the door isn't even locked - we can leave any time we wish. All we have to do is open the door.

But if we feel safe and secure in our cage chances are we will never try for the door.

    Peace & Love!

That is good point. But in order to do that we need to unlearn almost everything we have acquired, and that is not an easy and quick task.

The founder of the Dragon Gate sect said that: Freedom is when you have no thought, Immortal Enlightenment is when you have nothing in your mind.

I was wondering: what is that in our mind?

  8. I am wondering what the relationship was traditionally like, and what were the small kinds of etiquette that occurred between the sifu and student? How about just generally in China?

How does this differ from America?

Any books or articles for me to read about this?

    thank you.

    Old Man Contradiction:

I have some articles related to your training. If possible, can you PM your email, I am happy to give it.

    Cheers,

  9. Belive me if I could go back again 20 years,I would have started meditation(a lot of people have no clue about what meditation is and what it does) and never done anything else.I have tried seriously most well known systems out there and others for about 14 years, before I understand that every breathing method and movements in chi kung,qi gong, nei kung, yoga is mostly to recreate things that happens naturally in meditation.the problem is it is not natural to recreate it this way.not every prosess works in reverse.

now I was off track again and will go take my ritalin as you said

    sykkelpump, thank you.

  10. What happens then? Absolutely nothing. Life carries on just like before, although there will be a slight difference this time around. What this difference will be is completely up to the individual. Some grasp it and it becomes a burden, while for some it means total freedom. Funny thing this concept is.

I hope you are wrong here.

What about supernatural power, immortality, heaven/hell, etc. you name it? I understand it is all side effects but it is something worth to mention, no?

There are a number of enlightenment levels. What you speak of, may be a very low level of enlightenment?

Again from Master Nan book, we (not only the body) all will be destroyed by fire, flood, and wind disasters unless we can enter the fourth Samadhi.

    Thank you.

  11. Hi Spectrum,

I really like to understand this concept. I understand that you have many good points to offer.

Could you please take your time (if needed) to make those important points a little bit clearer?

    Many regards,

    Your Tao Buddy

  12. I think this is worth checking out, and I am the only one who has mentioned it around here:

    http://www.damo-qigong.net/qigong/course.html

It looks to be a GOLD MINE for those who wish to get started on authentic nei dan. I have major respect for Hu Xuezhi. Maybe when I get the money and get in a position to practice it I'll be the one to get it and tell you guys how it is.

    Creation,

Thank you for bring this back.

I too have respects for teacher Hu for: (a) having translated some valuable Tao materials in to English, (B) having Dao Zhen as one of his students (Dao Zhen has studied with many other teachers).

Do you know if he is more of Tao scholar or a Tao practitioner?

  13. I don't trust my ability to know exactly what you mean by this question. The more independence you acquire, the easier it is to simplify your life. It doesn't solve all problems, but it gives you the ability to refine your powers of mindfulness and wise action, which is why it is an essential element of most monastic environments. So, to answer your question, I certainly imagine my best chance for an enlightened and sane life to be a simpler one than the one I have now.

    You answered my question.

Thank you very much for this thread. I hope/wish many experienced guys share their thoughts and provide advices so that younger guys can learn and have a little bit of more time to plan their life.

This is to reinforce your thought on TV and reading books: "I find television very educational. Every time someone switches it on I go into another room and read a good book. - Marx, Groucho"

I will take many of your advices with me.

  14. enough discussion?

that means you cant do embryonic breathing isnt that right.how many do you know have learned embryonic breathing from a dvd or a book?

you cant,if you meditate and you reach a stage with empty mind and the breath seems to stop, then embryonic breathing will start by itself.you dont know what you are talking about scotty

I was about to say the same. To me, Embryonic Breathing is not there to master, it is more like a result. We confuse about the cause and the effect.
