  1. Cultivation side effects

When all you have is a hammer....everything can start to look like a nail. Knowledge of what to do in these situations is not something you can just crack open a book and read up on. Different methods create different kinds of practitioners. An exploratory impulse, is not something that is often encouraged in many lineages.
  2. Cultivation side effects

Monks and other practitioners are not necessarily skilled healers.....so if they've not experienced certain situations, they may have blind spots.
  3. Cultivation side effects

All kinds of obstacles can rear there heads along the path. Smashing the, "Do More Meditation" button, is not always the best choice.
  4. Curious to find inner power

  5. The TDBs has an interviews section that has a wealth of content. So much info out there....keep your bullshit meter on and sift the chaff from the wheat. Just developing a very basic meditation practice of 5 min a day is a good place to start as you continue to explore diverse methods.
  6. Curious to find inner power

Yes, Mantak Chia can be quite risky in it's approach. Many different approaches to the path. Different types of people and differing goals result in differing methods. Explore the ocean and find what's powerful and useful for you. Welcome to TDB.
  7. Does Daoists lean where the money is

    Yes. Money is lovely.
  8. In this life your are a human being, in your previous you were a cat, in the next who knows? Spirituality is often tainted by the societies they emerge from.....but when your looking at cultivation....a larger context is required. Heal, grow and whatever labels you and society have rolling around in the psyche.......understand that its a very small picture in comparison to existence itself. That being said, everyones energetic temperament is different and its important to find methods that suit your nature. Nevertheless, unless your talking about sex magick.....i don't think your romantic preferences are directly relevant.
  9. Martial Cultivation

Hoshin Jutsu is an american system of martial arts that openly teaches the Internal work and Healing as part of the system. If your in the U.S. or Canada you may wish to look them up. http://hoshinbudo.com
  10. Glenn definitely wasn't bullshitting. Stuff works.
  11. Martial Cultivation

In Tai Chi, doing the forms slowly, circulates chi in the body and has helped many people raise there level of ability. In the system of Silat i was practicing....horse stance had a great effect of stimulating the pressure points on the feet and causing a good chi flow. In Glenn Morris's book on esoteric martial arts he recommends emptiness mediation, breath work, microcosmic orbit and special secret smile meditations to stimulate the kundalini and open up that power to be a more badass martial wizard. Silk Reeling is another exercise i've heard about in Internal Martial Arts that has great benefits. Circle Walking is also quite beneficial. Holding postures as taught in the way of energy by Lam Kam Chuen is great (Wu Chi and Holding Ball). Some systems of martial arts don't have an internal component. There are subtle differences in all systems....got to sift through to find what resonates.
  12. Martial Cultivation

First person who introduced me to Martial Cultivation was Glenn Morris through Path Notes. Amazing book.

  17. How do you get to the Truth

    3rd eye cultivation
  18. Hey everyone

    Fun name. Welcome to TDB.
  19. Greetings

A worthy note, is that people can have temporary kundalini surges....but permanent awakening does not happen often, unless your engaging with a spiritual process. Here is a basic KAP technique to trigger a permanent awakening. Have fun.
  20. Greetings

Path Notes by Glenn Morris is a good book that has some useful chapters on Kundalini. Taking a KAP class may also be useful. https://kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/blog/register/
  21. Alchemy and Inspiration

The underlying principle of alchemy is that your taking the dense materia of the body (Jing, Food, Sexual energy...etc) and refining it to something more subtle. In watching this video of Korea Got Talent, i couldn't help but make a comparison too alchemy. A person whom comes from a very "dense" background and from this dense energy, a beautiful flower sprouts. Similar to the analogy of the lotus....we are all capable of taking the muck of life and growing a flower.
  22. Inequality

I remember a story of Lao-Tzu advising the Emperor and how the Emperor tried to enter retreat and practice cultivation, but only meet with failure and frustration....then the Sage explained to him, what he was doing was against his "nature". So he goes back to court, finishes his duties as Emperor and then in retirement began his cultivation journey....or something to that effect. Daoist scholars may have a name for the story. In short.....each person has there nature....if you try to grind against it and pursue areas that are not resonant....your gonna find yourself in unwelcoming spaces. Root consciousness is a blank slate.....but we all manifest differently. There is nothing Equal about manifestation.
  23. SFQ Harmony Of Universal Energy

Hopefully someone whom is familiar with the system, can come and chime in to clarify the method. Different systems different approaches.
