We still are tribal, animalistic to a degree, maybe in a 100,000 years it will be ironed out, who knows? We can work on ourselves and stop contributing to violence and teach the new generation better ways but yes, we still live in a violent world.

Benebell Wen on the Microcosmic Orbit
SodaChanh replied to forestofclarity's topic in General Discussion
One exception is Flying Phoenix Qigong. I know it is marketed as a health system but my own research indicates that the qi does not inflate the 'you' and one of the emptiness meditations could possibly lead to realization of emptiness if one does it for extended periods. -

True and my own finding that the Benebell Wen version can release the grasping of the body periphery can't just be done either without other work first. This version could lead to the Dao since the final result is the merging of you with the Dao which is the dissolving of feeling of 'you' in your consciousness - the universe is inside you she calls it. -

Agree. Rob Coons mentions 3 different MCOs here https://immortalitystudy.gumroad.com/l/bzsdpm?layout=profile (not endorsing paid stuff but just for the sake of discussion). -
I can vouch / recommend this. The group is awesome and enables release of deep stuff into realization of awareness and abiding in it on a daily basis.

Asking for something in a prayer
SodaChanh replied to idquest's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
God is just your non dual awareness. Which is the basis of our experience. When you pray for something, if you are aware it will start appearing in your awareness as 'something non tangible' in the beginning. This what the manifestation people do when they visualize their desires. As for whether there is a price. Maybe there is a price in terms of increased awareness in terms of growth or recognition that nothing is needed for being happy or content. Though I think it depends on Destiny / Ming. Since the Destiny for someone is to actually pray / want something and get it since their Life Destiny is so for them to feel whole and giving (say a life partner). -

Taoist Elixir Method (Tao Tan Pai) Kung Fu and Neigong discussion
SodaChanh replied to daobro's topic in General Discussion
For some of the Golden Lotus Flying Phoenix meditations I could sense just from the breathing sequence what the meditation would do. Other times I had to do the meditation to sense what was going on in my system. Anyone with a good sensing ability can do it. -

TTP exercise 1 seems to relax tension in upper back and shoulders and helped me with insomnia last night. It might help in opening up that area for MCO - I sensed increased flow there. -
Well it is a theory that fighting the evil forces is better than sitting in the view of no view. Since there is no separation, releasing all aggression results in changes for humanity that can be felt tangibly. Imagine tomorrow 5 billion people held no aggression anymore, what difference that would make?

One nice moving qigong from Master Li -
The pill is the Golden Elixir which is your true nature. Reality without any self, just pure abiding in awareness.

Just rest in the view of no view. In the resting bring in all sentient beings and have compassion for them. Job done.

Guru Yoga - Weird Religious Anachronism, or Essential for Realization?
SodaChanh replied to Robin's topic in Buddhist Discussion
VortexHealing has a Presence transmission which IMHO has the same quality of abiding in awareness / true nature. No religion required here just a number of paid courses. Once you have the transmission you can do it on your own and no teacher is required. I like human teachers though, at least sometimes 😊- 10 replies

I am reading this book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover as part of my work in therapy and I found it very helpful in recognizing unhealthy patterns in my psyche. Probably there are equivalents for the female archetypes. I feel the spiritual bypassing is enormous in the old traditions of Buddhism and Taoism. They simply have too little insight into the psyche and poor understanding of what bad upbringing and childhood trauma can do in terms of crippling the development of a healthy adult ego. Especially buddhism which just tries to suppress or annihilate the personal self. Very unhealthy. A combination of spirituality and personal ego work will work wonders on achieving a silent mind and healthy, sung qi.

Nothing extreme if you are actually interested https://tricycle.org/magazine/what-went-wrong-tibetan-sex-abuse/ Took less than 1 sec to Google? No basis? Maybe you should mind your words.

Stirling says nothing is ever forced. This is not true. Evidence points to a different reality, examples are what is already mentioned, then vipassana practices that lead to dark knight of the soul, already known if you research it. In Daoism you see people read old texts that say women contain 'worms' and shouldn't be touched. Then they suppress their natural sexual desire. So it is not just Buddhism. Once you act within a framework you will be affected by the framework. It is surprising people cannot see this.

Buddhists are human and naturally flawed, this is logic, no? If a teacher implies he is perfect he would be a cult leader not a real teacher. There are good practitioners in every tradition. Saying they are beyond being human with built in bias and blinders is naive.

AKD have you investigated your dislike for certain foods? Are you certain you are ok with having a preference for specific foods or do you imply we should DELETE the human?
