He's hoping to catching a lift on the Japanese guy who Elon Musk is building a rocket for. It's just going to be a flyby and then hopefully back home.

Hehehe.  Elon Musk is a bigger scam artist than Trump is.  I wouldn't offer any credence to anything he says.

  2. Well, at least there are people talking about it.

We have those same problems here in the US an much of the talk is concentrating on the effects rather than the causes just like in London.

I used to be very anti-conspiracy theory and wanted to wait for facts to be presented before I formed an opinion.  Sadly, all too often we are presented false information and we end up forming false opinions.

I don't follow what is happening at the UN well enough to even think I have an understanding.  But what I am seeing coming from it is not something I would approve of.

  3. You know that I equate the EU, and the UN with the New World Order, Right?

I see the mayor as a finger of the NWO.  Perhaps there is an agenda toward chaos in the city?  And yes, Brexit is a situation that should be resolved as soon as possible "by the people".  "By the people" is important.  If the people can't get their vote back then Great Britain will no longer be great.

that reminded me of hearing Christmas music at the mall just a few days ago......

of course to stimulate sales and get the anxiety ramped up for shopping. it was the very day after halloween

I don't even remember the song but I felt like I am in a terrible trap- a moment of nostalgia but then I just wanted to leave and I did too.

sorry my apology this has nothing to do with what you are pointing too....

and the very fact that the ladies room smells like a kd lang concert yet another reason to high tail it OUT.

I've always thought you are a guy.  What were you doing in the lady's room?

But yes, your response does relate to the quote.

In the mall you felt the death of winter instead of the life of summer.  So you ran away before it touched you too deeply.

Hi There, whenever I meditate at home, I keep talking involuntarily things that are not from my self.

Of course they are from your self - from your unconscious mind.

That is why it is important in meditation to allow those thoughts to arise naturally, pay them no attention, and allow them to float away when they don't get the attention they want.

If those thoughts are negative you should try to find their source.  Maybe some things in your life that you repressed and really need to deal with.

Bizarre that the web address has this under showbiz as that's just crass! Basically the Mayor of London is a twat and needs a slap!

The link worked for me.  But yes, the mayor did exactly what I suggested above.  Putting the blame on not having enough law enforcement personnel.  In other words, addressing the effects but not the causes.

But then, the people elected that mayor so who's fault is it?

  7. Well, if guns don't kill people and knives don't kill people, who is doing the killing?

It is people killing people.  that's obvious, I would think.

    So the questions shouldn't be:

How can we take away the guns of private citizens

    or

How can we take away the knives of private citizens

Nor should it be blamed on the reduction of law enforcement agents.

    The question should be:

Why are people killing each other?

Drug related crime is a given.

I think unemployment is a given as well.

The leaders of societies need start looking at the causes instead of only the effects.

But maybe that's asking too much.

  8. I have defined Chuang Tzu as a mystic.  I suppose fantasy is part of mysticism.

I don't know of any clearly defined way of discriminating between his fiction and non-fiction.

But then, for me, it's all about the concepts anyway.  Grasp the concepts and forget the words.

The prize seems too high. One can indeed ward off calamity by no longer desiring to be without calamity (because then a calamity will no longer be seen as a calamity) and by avoiding contact with all other creatures, but isn't that saying goodby to ones humanity also?

Maybe the point of all this is to prove that in actual practice calamity cannot be avoided.

I have never viewed these comments/suggestions as realistic.  But I do agree that the fewer desires and attachments we have the fewer problems we will have in our life.  Therefore I think "a middle path".  And, of course, knowing when we have enough.

To the story itself, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinate would allow Lu more free time and fewer worries.
