See what I was saying about imperfections?

But he still accepted the offer, didn't he? Sometimes we just have to do what we have to do.
-
Really? That's why I haven't done it.

Periods are important regarding sexual relationships as well.

But not all of us.

Yeah, if there was any life on that meteor when it hit that wasn't destroyed upon impact it is possible that it (they) have been evolving during this entire time they have been under the ice. They likely wouldn't look much like anything we would recognize.

Dao allows for imperfection. I think I am a perfect example of this.

I respect the path you have chosen regarding the woman you love. I would never be able to walk such a path. All that's left is for me to offer my best wishes to the two of you. -
No, but based on the summary I think it could be a good read. Given that the Inner Chapters are the only one attributed directly to Chuang Tzu, I think it could be a good exercise to study just the Inner Chapters as presented by various translators. I have not yet done this myself.

Well, really, you and I could use some improvement. But maybe all we need is a little refinement?
-
Well, it would be illogical for me to respond to this as it would suggest that I accept the concept of a god.

Actually, I wouldn't even call it "folk religion". Culture, yes. And yes, Taoist Philosophy draws upon that.
-
I won't argue with that. When I first started reading of Taoism I did try to read other aspects of Taoism beside just the philosophy but it wasn't what I needed or wanted in my life at the time. Therefore I returned to just the Philosophy.

I think the best example of Fascism would be Italy pre-WWII, not Germany. There were too many insane conditions with German Fascism.
-
I must regretfully agree with Ralis this time. Fascism is extreme Right mentality.

And after all is said and done, I am still the center of my universe.

That's one full of wonder picture.

Don't ask me. I'm an Atheist.

But then, assigning value judgements to someone else's concerns rests totally in the assigning person's self interests. If we could pass by those discussions of concepts we feel are petty we wouldn't be bothered by them and those with the petty problems might be able to get some useful advice. Just saying. We each have our own set of petty problems.

Goal? To live and die a natural death.

Prodigal Northpalace was collecting contributions for Duke Ling of Wey to make a set of bells. He built an altar outside the gate of the outer city wall and, in three months, the set was complete even to the hanging of the upper and lower tiers. Seeing this, Prince Ch'ingchi {{The son of King Liao of the state of Wu, he fled to the state of Wey when his father was assassinated.}} inquired of him, saying, "What arts did you employ?" "In the midst of unity," said Prodigal, "I wouldn't dare to employ anything. I have heard it said, 'After all the carving and chiseling, Return to the simplicity of the unhewn log.' I was naively nescient, Ingenuously indolent. In droves and throngs, I escorted those who were going, and welcomed those who were coming. Those who wished to come were not prohibited; Those who wished to go were not prevented. I was indulgent with those who were strongly opposed, went along with those who were indecisive, relied on those who did their utmost. Thus I was able to collect contributions morning and evening without meeting with the slightest rebuff. How much more will this be true of one who follows the great path!"
