  1. I only just read a few parts of this thread here and there.... But heres my thoughts..... Yin is the stagnent unlimited potential, but unless it gets the boot of the yang up it to get moving it is nothing. It isn't creative on it's own but it has potential. Yang is the most supreme energy - moving power but without substance, fuel.. it is nothing. It is creative on its own but if it has nothing to use to create something from it is useless. There are many different mix ratios between the two which give birth to the well known 5 different elements - and more. So yeah, man causes creation to happen. Women provide the substance to make it possible. (I did have to control myself not to word it so that men were better hehe )
  2. The collected works of Blissmusic

I think your senses can describe it but words can't. A picture may be 1000 words, but an experience is undescribeable. I believe senses aren't to be put aside, they're to be embraced to the most possible. This is the perfect balance point. Living inside your mind is going too far. Thats not living, thats only being.
  3. The collected works of Blissmusic

Yeah thats great. Precisely. When you find an easy answer let me know
  4. Dream Yoga

That guy sure does like to blink alot
  5. Number of healing sounds per day

The more you do it the better you will become. After practicing heaps i could do more with 1 healing sound rep than i could with 9 at the start. Just put a little pressure on the organ, squash it a little, vibrate it a little, then let it rest and soak in the energy it needs. Don't use ur head, it has it's own consciousness, just let it do it by it's self. The less "you" can internvene the more powerful it becomes. Generally though if i'm not practcising so much 3 reps of each does bugger all, 6 is reasonable, 9 is good, and 12 is enough for a nice relaxed day unless something really un-nerving happens. It's a beginning practice in Chia's system, but i find it's very powerful and useful, even after you're into kan & li practices
  6. Insomnia caused by Chi Kung?

Mate i've been practicing for 3 and half years pretty intensely and i still can't go to sleep well if i've practiced an hour or 2 before bed. Just practice earlier. Even if i do the healing sounds my energy just increases and i can't sleep. If i do 3 or so half assed ones without hand movements and that i can have a nice sleep. If i get right into it and do 9-12 of each i'll be awake for ages. Just do it earlier and enjoy your caffeneless energy boost
  7. I remember i read in the testimonials of Mantak Chia's Iron Shirt I book that some guy healed his kissing vertibra and cured a pretty big stomach ulsa that had been documented using iron shirt and microcosmic orbit. I think it took him 3 months or so. I have read many other miracle cases too. But i've practiced lots for a long time and had minor successes, nothing like the miracles i've read about. Has anyone here had a first hand healing experience through their own meditations/practices? (Not seen a therapist). Were they great/minor? How much time did you spend practicing & for how long? Did the results last? Cheers, Louis
  8. Yeah i'd say that was a miracle cure. Anything that would surprise doctors. I have a heap of questions So you stayed up all night and didn't sleep and just imagined yourself being cleaned with white light? How many hours would you say you did it continuously? Did you get into a particularly deep trance during it? Did you have breaks in your practice or did you just continue all night? Sitting up or laying down in bed? Did you suddenly feel that you were cured or in the morning you just felt better? Did your practice that night differ in any way from your normal practice? I'm not talking about walking through walls or fixing cancer patients, i'm more interested in things like this. Or other things like never catching a cold or flu. I mean you read that it's possible but has anyone gone like 2-3 years or longer without having any flu symptoms?
  9. I've seen some Fa Jin, but this?

Something cool i remember seeing (amongst many things on the same series) is the host of "Mind body and kick arse moves" a 10 part BBC documentry about crazy martial artists, is where he can hold onto peoples chi (i guess) and pull them backwards, or move them around without even touching them. He does it to complete strangers off the street and he is a western guy. Have a look at the series. it is awesome.
  10. Since the early ages man has been drinking wine, smoking weeds or eating mushrooms along with heaps of other things that intoxicate us for some pleasurable feeling. I've been cultivating for quite a while and i feel within myself that my training and meditating paths are knocked backwards by binge drinking or even cigarettes (even though my tai ji master smokes plenty of them - and also does Bruce Lee's old man smoke a pipe!). But i equally know that as i can build up my health and my balance in my training that i still have the memories of great and unforgettable nights under the influence. Without those magical moments at times i feel some sparkle is lost from my life. I read somewhere that alcohol makes the ugly guy a stud, the weedy bloke strong, the nervous guy confident and the nerdy guy.... well maybe he's still nerdy but he feels cool! I am interested as to what other people think about drinking and partying while practicing taoist disciplines. Especially those who have been practicing for a long time. Do you ever drink/smoke? how often? Do you ever get totally wasted? and how often? I think i'm still young just as i've just turned 27 and i wonder if that has anything to do with it. My partying desire has slowly started to reduce though since it now takes me longer to recover than when i was 18 and maybe now due to my better understanding and feeling of my body i am aware of what it is doing to me. I know the true answer is 'balance' but i'm more interested in what peoples real life experiences are. Do the 'healers' just kick back on a friday night after a week of healing sessions with an hr of inner smile to or do u kick back with some mates or in front of the tv with a few brews?
  11. Bigu

If your body is working perfectly, your not wasting any energy through stress, your mind is empty and not using energy and u spend half your day meditating with your eyes closed, heartbeat low - kind of like you're hibernating - It's obvious that you're not going to eat as much. Especially if your eating very nutritious foods. But i think someone who stops eating for a long period of time is silly and going to hurt themselves, just like this sun gazing bloke. Despite legends of people rising to heaven etc, etc, we are all still only human and we need to eat and drink. Many annorexic people say they don't want to eat either, they don't feel hungery. Their brain is telling them they're not hungry... they "feel" that they don't need the food. I think its the same with this BIGU feeling. Common sense should tell everyone they still need to eat something. But as i've found.... commonsense is less common that anyone would think.
  12. Bigu

In the spring of 1989, 20 researches at the Medical Research Institute in Beijing, under the direction of the renowned scientists Prof. Li Yushu, MD and Shen Zhan, conducted a strict scientific trial on bigu-fasting with a voluntarily implementation of low calorie intake of 2 qigong practitioners in the extension of 30 days. They had lots of volunteers then most pulled out after they heard the stricktness of the test conditions. 2 people left, both lost 5kgs still. Further details are here. http://hanlin.hit.bg/bigu_eng.htm I mean i've felt full from chi before and not had the desire to eat but i still eat something just because common sense tells me i should. If you don't use it you lose it. If you don't digest food you'll lose your digestion abilities. You won't be able to digest things like meat and dairy that have very important nutrients. When you want to eat something you'll only be able to eat soup, even though you've still got a mouth full of teeth left! This sounds very yang, living only on energy, what about the moist dense yi food should be eaten together with your electromagnetic light! If you want some temporary spirtual experience then i guess it's ok but if u're after long term health i don't think fasting totally is good. You should at least have some fruit or at the very least some water!
  13. What i've found is that emptiness meditation is the ultimately what you need to do. But sitting in emptiness when you begin meditating is boring as hell and not many people would stick at that. But when you get there its so nice and much nicer than energy work. Energy circulation is good to begin with and it makes emptiness meditation (after your are proficient at energy circulation) very much easier. Your mind more easily becomes empty, then u need to empty it of the energy feelings. Energy circulation gives you tools to relax yourself. The higher your energy the more useful it becomes, you can push it through channels and use it as a tool to see how relaxed any portion of your body is and also use that energy to release tension in any particular area. It's a very yang way of doing it but for someone that way inclined (like myself) it can be very useful.
  14. MCO Standing?

Both seated and standing are good. If i sit i feel more comfortable, i can relax more and concentrate more, and control the qi better. If i stand i am strengthening my body and muscles and practicing meditation in a way that will help me meditate while i am standing, walking etc -- in a way i can practice more in every day life. In those spare moments waiting in line, etc. I do both. Sit down when i can. Stand up when i can't sit down. Stand up when i want to increase my standing meditation abilities.
  15. Help!

I'm after some help because i seem to cycle around in circles in the phases mentioned below and i can't understand it properly (about 3 weeks per cycle). I know some basics of chinese medicine, i have read "Between heaven and earth" which i thought was excellent as well as reading up on the net. Also i have some first hand experience through my mantak chia style qigong for the past 3 years so i am well aware of what is happening to me at each stage but i can't figure it out in tcm terms. If i could then i could research into it and select foods and accupressure points and tailor my meditation accordingly. Age: 27 Sex: male Main type: Wood Main problems since i was young: Constant stuffy nose/sinus's. Easy for me to catch cold with runny nose and sore throat or toncilitus. Recently become a bit better i think because i haven't been drinking milk or eating much cheese. More recent problems (3 years): Burning feeling around eyes and head and chest. It's just due to being too tense and severity depends on my stress levels. Meditation practice: Do MCO & healing sounds on average an hour or 2 a day. Iron shirt, qi weight lifting not every day but most days. Diet: Generally eat lots of fruit, veges and meat, no processed crap. no alcohol/coffee/cigerettes etc. Exercise: exercising alot (running/swimming/gym) 1. I feel great. 2. I begin to feel slightly anxious, very tiny amount nothing really to worry about, easy calmed through meditation. 3. Feel a little bit depressed and upset sometimes a bit of anger mood goes up and down good/bad. Between meditation sessions it gets a bit stronger. I feel the spleen has a little bit of bad energy in it but the large intestine is the main problem. After smiling to the large intestine and getting it relaxed i feel much better. 4. Breathing starts to get harder. I can breath but i have to consciously do it, it starts not too bad then gets more and more rough. 5. Breathing is more tight (not asthma feeling just tense abdomen). My large intestine feels more tense and it's harder to keep it relaxed. My bowl movements are not so regular, I feel like overeating. My thoughts begin to race and i'm not relaxed at all. I can't be 'in the now' i'm always looking ahead further and further faster and faster. If i can relax my large intestine i feel much better. When i finish meditations though it begins to tighten up again. 6. I drink alcohol and give up my diet, eat the bad food, and go out with my friends. I meditate much less, maybe just half an hour a day and I lose alot of my qi pressure. I breath easy 7. I get angry a bit easier than normal, i feel heat in my liver. 8. Heats removed from my liver from meditation and i'm back to step 1, feeling great. I figure it's a liver/lung disharmony but i can't figure out any more detail than that. Thanks in advance! (Something else i feel i should mention. It is autumn here now and it just got real freakin cold real fast)
  16. Accupuncture

Yep, go to an accupuncturist. If it works when u come out draw little crosses on the pinholes still in ur body so when they heal u know where they still are. After u have a shower remark. Then in a week or so just pop em in the same places and hey presto u'll have the same effect. Thats what i did and i've been doing it for years. Just relaxes me a bit and makes me feel better. ... I realised this after paying 50buxs a time and she was just doing the same thing every time
  17. I was practicing Taiji in the park this morning like every other weekend with my master and the other regular girls when another person started practicing something a bit further away. I was intrigued to watch him for a bit... He was SOOO flexible. He tried talking to me but i couldn't understand much because my chinese is poor but he was saying how soft he was. I could hold his hand as like in a hand shake and it would literally fold in half without any effort, his bones just folded. His thumb could easily bend back to his wrist without any pressure. He was lying on his back then rolling up with his feet in the air and putting them straight into the lotus position without using his hands or anything, just moving his legs so they were in the lotus position! hopping about in the lotus pose, then doing some bagua looking movements and kicking a tree inbetween haha. He was doing a few other strange things but my teacher called me back away from him. He did look a bit crazy wearing clothes like a bum, plus he had all his teeth missing. My wife translated from my teacher than this guy did budda kung fu, but he always said in some previous time long ago, that our taiji style was crappy and try to cause arguements. My teacher went over to try shake hands with him and try to make peace but then this guy faked being in pain saying my teacher hurt him and wanted some money compensation or something. Shoulda taken a photo of him, coulda put him in the taobums logo!
  18. Smoke some DMT or snort some Ketamine and you won't think that you can't touch God/Tao from drugs. You could meditate 8 hrs a day for 10 years and not have any effect or have one of the above 2 and touch God within a few minutes. When you trip hard off these 2 the same chemicals are in your brain as when you really do 'touch' the tao through meditation. Smoking weed is just going to make you spaced out, if you want some real spiritual experiences have some real meds haha. U can't wreak your body from a short spurt of drug use. Regardless of what you hear. Unless u overdose but thats why anyone with half a brain would research what they take. check out www.erowid.org it is the drug supersite. It has all the information. Drugs are good mmmmmK. (Also if you've had the spirtual experience on drugs... it's easier to get there while ur off drugs. You already been there, just replicate the experience)
  19. John Painter

I body build and do qigong and tai chi. Meditation is good so that i can body build better, feeling every aspect of my body so i can strengthen it in a balanced and healthy way. At first i thought body building was making my tai chi worse, but after a while longer it's fitted in fine. As long as you do stretching too to stay flexible and some running or cardio stuff it all fits together perfectly. Tai chi keeps you soft and supple and gives some type of fighting skill, meditation can help you build your qi and quieten your mind, and body building gives you strength and some arms that makes you proud when you wear a t-shirt Also when you do tai chi and weights together it means you don't need to be so 'perfect with the timing and coordination because of your extra strength (even without intending to use your strength) it gives you a little bit of lee-way in combat. Plus body building is useful in the real world when u have to do some work like carry some heavy stuff or something. I like lifting weights, its' fun
  20. Yes MO too! The oldskool monks always got WOOPED by invaders. Thats why they were taught Kung Fu. You might be able to make yourself warm by a fireball in ur mind, you might be able to burn some paper with ur hand, but u ain't gunna ward off any lions with an imaginary chi ball. The masai tribe can kill a lion with one spear stab. Go Figure....
  21. I agree. And even the 1 in a billion "CHI EXPERT" most likely would still get pounded by tyson. You need more than an iron shirt to stop his punches, and if you use tai chi and use his power against him, it's like trying to transform a lightening bolt when you've only ever practiced with a 9v battery
  22. Bruce Frantzis' Water Method

In my experience its' the down channel that can get blocked much more easily. But thats just me. Everybody would be different. You need both open. Just spend time on them both i think 50/50. Soon you will find out what you need. Plus if you have more up channel open you just continue the force around the orbit and it will give you more momentum to help you clean the down channel. They help each other. It's not so much they are different channels they are all one and the same, a big circle that has 2 different names for the sake of discussion. But in reality it's just like one big oval
  23. Male/female roles and relationships

You have a good point. Both people are in it for some reason. There are no absolutes. Things change, constantly, always. Love waxes and wanes. You can't be fully logical because love is not logical. It's just some funny feeling. Its the way you are now which is why a woman is staying with you now. Its the way she is now and thats why your with her now. It's life. There is no real fairytale love, everyone has arguements. Thats why i think the ultimate enlightenment is not discarding your feelings or your emotions because they are very important.
  24. Difficult situation...

*Sings* She's a gold digger.... yes indeeeeeeed!
