  1. Bax44, they probably do have too much power now because of technology, but the technology is in the hands of the people too. I mean that the people can just vote a government out now, you need to overthrow a king. how do you think the power should be more evenly distributed?
  2. 9th, i can have an opinion, i can move things, i and others can verify it with a ruler imperically. Both physically, emotionally and spiritually i can interact with others and verify it physically. The 3 are inseparable and so any changes in one level can be measured in another level. The physical is the most familiar to us all and so serves as the easiest and best medium for us to verify in.
  3. 9th that sounds a bit like that tale about the emperors new clothes
  4. There was another point i wanted to discuss too, (wasn't sure if i should open another thread for it). Is it better to rule with fear or love? How important do people think power is and the balancedness of it. Ruling by love, you give to people and you have power over them, until they don't need you any more, or you give even more love and teach them how to think for themselves. They're reliance on you is gone. Ruling by fear, you can control people until there is nothing for them to fear anymore. I think both can be good and important. In neither way do you need to be nasty. Eg. Men and women. Men traditionally had alot of power in the family because they bought in the income. The family needed a man. The women had alot of power because she looked after the children. The man needed the woman if he wanted a family. Now we have daycare and after school care for children so both parents can work. Women have 'equal rights' even though they had equal rights the whole time in my opinion. Nowadays women still have the power of the children according to family law. Man has bugger all legal power, but he still has macho power (infact this is attractive to women i think) to keep the family together). Anyhow, with these changes, broken familys are widespread, especially in Australia. Especially in Australians. People from other countries in Australia have better family relationships and i think it is because of their overseas cultural background where the man and the woman historically have a more dominant or passive role. The children miss out as a result of divorce in these instances in many ways - in my opinion. Not only children, the society as a whole suffers. I find kids that are in daycare every day and especially after school care tend to be subject to meeting rougher people. Whats more, nobody will take as good a care of your children as yourself. To me this balancing of power is no good. The fear is taken away, and the love on it's own just doesn't cut it in so many of these relationships. A bit like before we had kings and queens ruling. Now we have governments that have very little power, power is given to the people in the democracy they can vote or choose who they want and the government loses it's effectiveness while trying to keep everybody happy. The balance of power allows the crumbling of society in my opinion.
  5. Daeluin thats very insightful. There is a huge difference between a 3 year old and a 13 year old's behaviours! I understand that you can't make everybody happy, so i think it's better to just do what makes you happy otherwise you end up spending all your time running around for everybody else. Perhaps we can discuss how vital corruption is to evolution. I understand things change and the taco shop owner can evolve his business or evolve himself my following another pursuit, otherwise he will become stagnant, but does the shop always need to become larger? I have seen this with a pub i used to visit, it was very cool, laid back with old couches, cool small local live music and a really nice atmosphere with young and middle aged people mingling together great. It had a wonderful vibe, and drew more and more people. The owner closed it down for renovations, put all new stuff inside, made it twice the size, reduced the live local acts, had a bigger bar, etc to accomodate all the extra people. I changed into a packed run of the mill nightclub that just wasn't cool anymore, even though it was still popular. I know of another pub slightly different but similar in another sort of a way. It attracted all the weirdos, but they were all nice people and it was really cool, again all ages. It was steadily popular for 15+ years, they had sumo betting and trivia nights every week and it was also a very cool vibe. It stayed like this until it was forced to closed down because the building was falling down. My point is, when they hit that sweet spot, they may not be packed to the rafters but they're at 80% capacity and well known throughout the town. They both had culture, vibe, soul, and real character. One lost it's identity, one preserved it. I have never really been able to get alot out of the IChing, although i've only read versions i've found for free on the net, is there a translation or commentary you could recommend?
  6. Also, did Gurdjieff mention if or how he validated his ability to put an elephant to sleep or kill a yack from far away?
  7. Hmmm interesting, but if spiritual is non dualistic, and nothing is evil, how could u be sure what u were doing was always 'good'? And what's good for one group of people isn't always good for another. Mother Theresa supposedly even said before she died she didn't think it was the right thing to do to just help anyone and everyone.
  8. microcosmic alchemical agents

Very little formal practice recently, maybe a few healing sounds. Recently more involved with different physical exercises, thought patterns and their effect on me. Awareness is always good practice. Sometimes energy can be a distraction for me ive found
  9. Mmm yes Marblehead it sometimes helps to be reminded of what should be obvious. Spotless, i usually press the quote button for the first post i reply to then copy and paste in a quote box the latter quotes, i can add names in, just sometimes if in on my phone its fiddly. Its guess its mainly laziness but also its the content i feel is more important than who said it. Thanks for every bodies input. Perhaps i will aim to be a little more tactful with an eye on peoples emotions and other influences other than black and white openess and uncandyed clear self expression. A little... For that is me
  10. I have used generalisations and discussed the subject as a whole because my intent was to discuss the subject as a whole, not my isolated case. Of course i did think perhaps through the general discussion conclusions could then be drawn from the discussion that would enlighten some to my views and my opinions of my case. They are differing comprehensions due to a range of different factors, one i believe is cultural, but regardless, it doesn't matter, we're allowed to have different opinions and it's not like i got my hand cut off so it's all good. There is nothing cryptic, or the intent for anything cryptic in anything i see in this thread, it's all just plain words which can be interpreted in different ways. Anyone who reads with their eyes and not their brains will see that. To say i still have some problem with it is probably wrong. I did have some problem initially, not with the fact that i was banned, but more so the dissapointment that i had lost an avenue in which i felt i could freely express myself while i believed i WAS following the rules. But different interpretations of this lead to the ban so obviously i will withhold for the sake of those who do not understand my perspective. Those who understand my perspective would understand that i meant no offence to anybody and clearly expressed that respect was of the utmost importance, and it was my intention that i expressed respect to all throughout the whole of my posts. I truely would suck at cultivation if i felt fustrated all month just so i could try to get back at people haha. No i wrote down a couple of notes at the time and left it at that, then compiled them into my post the other day. I also understand however that people have different jobs to do, if we didn't have moderaters perhaps we wouldn't have this board and somewhere to discuss and read about things like this. Nobody likes the umpire but we all want to watch the game. I want to clearly express that there is, or never was any frustration towards any individual, rather a frustration that some people couldn't empty their glasses of their current beliefs to allow them to see my points of view, and at least acknowledge them for what they were. Especially since there were some that were open minded, and confident or awakened enough to even express to others that they may try to see it from my perspective. I didn't expect anybody to commit, for they were my views and not necessarily theirs, but it sheds some insight into how to lead. It is the leaders responsibility to change the view of the majority, inject an incentive for the change, then the people will convince themselves. As mentioned before, I don't like to lead. I didn't want the thread to be about me, i wanted it to be about the topic. It has been however enlightening for me to read it and i think it would be good if anyone else could learn from reading about it in the future.
  11. microcosmic alchemical agents

There are more agents, as you call them, than you could imagine. Every day i can find as many new ones as i look for. 5 are good beginning points, but if they don't fit the shopping list don't be afraid to search for what you want or need.
  12. Spirituality and the Marketplace

Tai Chi teacher i learnt from in china gave me first 3 months for free, and if i didn't miss a single class for 3 months then he would begin to teach me the fighting aspects, otherwise i would be wasting his time. He charged me double the others, but only because i earnt 10x as much. The price was very low, but we would buy him presents, and every time i went away overseas or travelling somewhere i would bring him back something, often a speciality pack of cigarettes for him to try. He was retired, it was a hobby for extra money. He didn't care about the money, he wanted to see progress in his students, that was his payment. TCM doctor who taught me pulse diagnosis did it for free, just because i was interested. I bought him a bottle of Jim Beam, a western spirit to say thankyou when i left. Both were kind and openly sharing of their knowledge. It was never a pay more to get to the next stage, or holding things back until i was supposedly ready. Just ask and give, very patient, kind and giving. Infact, thinking about it, in my experience those most knowledgable and accomplished people do like poisons
  13. There are free pdfs of most of his work available online from other webpages. Just search for the book name in google along with free download or free pdf of ebook. Try different things, they're on several websites, it wouldn't surprise me if he submitted them there himself. He has posted free video copies of most of his workshops online on youtube. Very worth source to learn from, the earlier books especially. The later books i think have too much input from others' opinions and i definately disagree with some of the content. I have purchased all the books quiet a long time ago, only read a couple of the new ones. Best to watch the videos too, especially with iron shirt or other physical practices. 3 cheers to mantak chia.
  14. hahah you're post #44? I'll let you make your own mind up about those differences, i think it's quiet obvious if you be honest to yourself. I intentionally didn't make any reference towards anything specific in that thread because it obviously appeared it wasn't something some people, or more importantly the person who banned me, was comfortable talking about. I won't reference the content of that thread in that context again out of respect for those in power Glad i sparked your interest haha Censorship is corruption of power where supposedly it is free speech
  15. MMmm, it doesn't feel like a problem to me, or if it could be classified as a problem by others i don't consider it one myself, i feel no anguish. What is life without your own ideas, without just following the crowd, or for that matter rising above them. Difficulties it brings are welcomed. I don't think i would repel myself from power, infact i like it. Too much power however would make me lose happiness and so that would not be something i would seek. I prefer to be one of the kings lead advisers, not the king himself. Watching the part of your video, perhaps my opinions are slightly misunderstood due to cultural differences. Perhaps my view is seen as one of like a university student whome has no actual experience and my ideas are just theoretical. Well Australia is sure alot more multicultural than America. Walking through Melbourne i see more Asian people (especially Chinese) than White people. We have refugees, lots of europeans, lots of people from all over. The percentage of the traditional white Australian to immigrated people is very low compaired to multiculturalism in any other country. Therefore i don't think i am like a uni student, rather i think the American people's view is different to anybody else's just due to the extreme violence and oppression-ism in the past, which can be seen in the irrational fear of the people in the video. However i'm sure there are times when that fear isn't irrational and so then it's not silly at all and well placed. Having lived in 3 different countries and having visited several more (unfortunately not America yet) with different levels multiculturalism, i can honestly say that this fear is far more prevalent in America than any other place i have been to. I believe this fear is non-existent in Australia. But people can only go by what they have seen and know so i accept any negativity thrown my way. On a side note, one thing that baffles me, is the large amounts of people that come from other countries (the majority who come from countries that i would call over developed and populated - even though westerns consider them 'developing countries'), that move to Australia because obviously they feel they can have a better life here, where there are less people, more countryside, less developments and more natural beauty..... But all of us idiots are trying our very hardest and working our arses off to develop our country and increase our population so that we can change our country into a place similar to the ones that people are currently coming to Australia to get away from. What the? To me it wasn't an ah'-ha moment, power corrupts is a well known fact, to me it was just another layer off the onion, believing that there were appropriate forums for unchecked self expression, but to be safe all things need to be considered speaking out regardless of the forum. Not even the confession box could one feel safe. Democracy is one big facade where freedom in reality is not what is promised in theory. It can be seen no clearer than in Australia currently, with terrorist threats, it would be ridiculous to think that your every conversation was not analyzed as to whether big brother liked it or not. Democracy needs to protect it's self, corrupted by it's own power it's just the opposite side of the coin to communism. Democracy appears free on the top level, but deep down it is complicated and not free at all. In communism nothing appears free on the surface but deep down the system is much freer and open than democracy, so long as you don't try to make that freedom official. Having lived in both systems i have the experience to know what i am talking about. Well worded, nicely put, i like it. I did have an opinion to that topic but i won't waste my time, you put it so eloquently. I don't agree with this, i'm sure they do know what they do. Whether if they realize it or not, or more likely choose to ignore it, i would believe more to be the case. We are a long time dead, plenty of time for that then Ahh the cleverness of quiet a few of the people on this forum is why i love it. I was clever once upon a time, unfortunately i don't have the patients to be clever in this way anymore, nor does it suit my goals. ;-) Sometimes i feel in the cleverness of expression, high levelled expression so to speak, words that come from people highly enlightened, the words take on the characteristics of light. Penetrating, pervading, truthful and just, however they pass through the space as light does also. Unaffecting with reduced power to create change. Put in plain and basic terms, there is a point where it can become too high where it goes over the heads of more and more people so that the audience it reaches becomes just as limited as those with no cultivation express their views which lack any insight. Of course people with that capacity have the ability to tone the frequency down a little, perhaps it is with intent that only the targeted ears are reached. I guess freedom of speech in this way is maintained and time is not wasted with useless resistance. I see it as right in so many ways yet not all the boxes are ticked. Without resistance change can not be brought about with such efficiency. Intent to change may be futile however the wisdom of the warrior and the wisdom of the sage are both valid, and at the point they converge is the sweet spot. There is a time for action, and a time for flowing, knowing or realizing this is as useless as a perfectly drafted business plan, being able to put it into action is the source of income. I am young, i still have fight in me, when i'm old i can float between the winds, but for now i enjoy the push pull, i enjoy feeling the power in my punch as push it out, the resistance.... and i do have energy to burn so to speak *ahhh taobums fix*
  16. Spirituality and the Marketplace

There are lots of people doing it for free. There are many more who don't want to learn from somebody doing it for free. People only place value on something that was difficult or costly to come by. However the best things in life remain free
  17. Thanks for your answers. I remember before you said qigong wasn't one of your main practices and you became more interested in it more recently. My practice was pretty much all qigong and more recently, perhaps the last year or so being more aware and receptive instead of proactive practice. Have you spent much time practicing qigong recently? How have you found this to effect your previous practice or your state? You sure are getting a workout on here everybody wants your opinions
  18. Wow thanks for posting that, he expresses it very clearly.
  19. Thanks for your reply.... i have a question or few for you Do you have a job? Like a normal job not a psychic or something? Do you like doing mathematical / engineering type work? How do you feel this effects your state? Not ideally in the best moments of your life / practice, but generally. Do you ever get a sense that you want to put a bit of 'yourself' into your work? Do you ever want to go straight from A to B so that you can soon get to C without just floating along for the ride? Just for a sense of accomplishment? What do you think of 'pride'? Is this a state that you revolve from and to? Do you enjoy staying like that all the time? Have you ever been a 'go all guns out' type of person, or have you always enjoyed relaxing and smelling the roses type of life? How old are you if you don't mind me asking? Have you always felt this way? Do you believe your stance has changed with your age or do you think it is only a matter of your practice deepening? I have been pretty deeply engrossed in the moment for periods.... it seems to suck me in more and more the closer i get, it pulls and is all pervading and it makes me forget about everything else but the moment of totally everything that makes up 'me' as well as the environment around me for longer and longer periods of time. But there is more to life than this for me at the moment. I give up the pleasure for the gain of thrill. I do admit i have a little fear that if i let myself fully fall into it for a long period of time it would be a lot of work getting back out. Perhaps i'm not ready to live like that yet, perhaps thats why it's always the old wrinkly man in stories who are grandmasters It's no longer a goal of mine, i feel like i've tasted the grass on the other side and although it doesn't fall short of any explanation, it fell short of my expectations. Thanks in advance, i just like hearing from accomplished people in self work who share with others their views, particularly in regards to questions that hold myself back. I understand my questions are very direct (like you have probably realized in previous conversations) and you most likely would like to answer poetically in circles I look forward to your reply.
  20. Becoming aware of yourself is truly amazing. Realizing the almighty difference between thinking, feeling and doing is very important. Thank god i can't get in trouble for what i think, only for what i do. I often have very naughty thoughts There were some very good points made in that article i just took the opportunity to express my views on the topic at a slightly different angle that had been in the back of my mind for quiet some time. Spotless, do you get tired from listening? Does it wear you out? If i do it and i expand my listening out wide it uses alot of energy, means i don't have energy to focus into actively doing things that i want to do. Especially noticeable if i try to do it all day long. It's like i can use my energy to gather wisdom through watching or listening like you say, but i only have so much energy, and if i try to pull in more i just dry out. Also i find listening watching hearing smelling it's all just observing just like with added colour
  21. The cult of racism

Thanks for the support. I like short skirts and bikinis too... especially on Asians hahah. Have to say that because my wife is one, but really i like the hot women of all nations
  22. The cult of racism

Racism: 1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race 2: racial prejudice or discrimination This is the definition that i have always known. I have just seem definitions that talk about violence also but i was not aware of those beforehand. Anyhow the above definition is supposedly the 'full definition' from Webster. So if it is blatently obvious that if you are picking a rugby team, you would chose the top Maori team over the top Asian allstar team, we then are saying Maoris are superior in this instance. Anyone who thinks this is true is then a racist by definition. Did we do anything wrong? No. Unless you are living totally non-dualistic (very few people) then there is always a better or worse, and different races have superiority in sprinting, beauty, strength, etc, etc. I feel the same way. The part that bothers me most is the "-ism". Explain your problem. Discuss it. Help me to understand it in relation to the definition posted above. If any of us went and joined a Masai tribe and lived there for 3 years, i'm sure there would be some in the tribe that would be racist towards us. They would think our culture wouldn't fit in with them. They would most likely be right, though if we conformed to their rules they would probably accept us. This is what i am trying to point out that there is nothing wrong with this, and the way it should be (and in reality already is). But people think when foreign people come to our 'civilized' cities we should be more compassionate, understanding and accepting, we should know better than the tribal people, and look past the race and cultural differences and see the person for who they are. The thing is, their race and culture IS all part of who they are, and just by thinking we should know better, or that we are civilized and should be able to not have racist thoughts, we are in fact being racist. If they have racist thoughts about us, then we don't have racist thoughts about them, we can't think we are being better, or indeed that is the definition of racism. I think racism is a very touchy topic more so in America, but thats most likely because of the horrid things they have done to black people in the past with slavery (i can only guess, i'm not American). However that seems a little like shamefulness for what has been done rather than a true acceptance throughout the nation. What I find even more silly, is that in Australia, it is always the general concensus handed down by the government that nobody should be racist, however it was the governement that screwed over the native Australian Aborigines and continue to screw them over today. I saw a cartoon, it had 2 Aboriginal elders holding spears meeting with a western judge. The judge said in a speech bubble 'OK, we'll call it a truce. We'll take all the best farmland, lumber rich and best fishing spots, and in return we'll recognize you as the traditional owners.' Ok so then they are pretty much American. Have an American passport, were bought up in America and are American citizens. They are American Asians. To me that's not fully Japanese because they don't still have their culture, etc. Here's another stereotype, black people or Asians can take more sun than a white person before they get burnt. Oh that's another fact too. There are lots of good stereotypes too, just like the smart Asians one. A french friend, when asked by women if French people were romantic, he always replied 'Of course we are' haha. But apart from that, not all Asians or foreigners are smart, it's often mainly the ones that migrate, they are the ones with the wealth and drive to migrate. Lazy, undriven people with no money don't migrate, they stay where they are.
  23. The cult of racism

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH RACISM. Most people consider themselves better than others more important or above the others around them, so isn't racism then natural? Different races are not all the same, they're not all equal, if they were we wouldn't need to keep trying to remind ourselves that they were. They're all very different, have different strengths and weaknesses. How could you possibly say that an Asian is physically equal to a Maori. It's not not true, Maoris are physically superior by far. Mentally, well i couldn't be sure, but those Japanese are pretty darned smart. Cultures are different too, which make the people different also. Somebody may not like aspects of another's culture, thats fine. It pisses me off when i'm waiting in a line in china and 10 people push infront of me. Chinese think i'm rude when don't want to offer up all my best foods and be overly generous to guests. Are we the same? No. It's only in multicultural countries where racism is such a big issue and everybody is brainwashed into thinking it is bad. They say it's bad because they want us all to get along, not fight, and continue working so that it pushing up GDP. In countries where there are not a lot of multiculturalism racism is everywhere. Racism is quiet big in China. Heck some Chinese even put themselves below Americans... they think America is "it". There is nothing wrong with racism at all, the problem people wrongly believe is due to racism is in fact a lack of respect for a fellow man. Respect is needed and should be given to everybody. Violence or putting people down is wrong, but that has nothing to do with racism. Putting down someone who is fat is no different to calling an Englishman (Which i am) a pome basta*d, or a bald f*** . They say that racism is different though, people can't change the colour of their skin. Sure, but they can control where they live. If they don't like it go back to a different place where they feel comfortable, nobody is keeping them there other than themselves. Some people who are fat can't lose weight, i can't grow my hair back. Deal with it, don't expect the world to bend over backwards to sugarcoat everything for you. People crying to the judge because they got racially abused, what a load of rubbish. Suck it up, if you don't like it go somewhere else. Welcome to life, there are nasty people everywhere. Why can there be a law that can get you in trouble for being racist but some kids that get shitted on every day at school until they kill themselves don't even get a look at. It's only because the country gets higher GDP when every race just gets along and goes to work. I racially profile all the time, and i think most people do it without even thinking about it. I find it incredibly accurate. I do however hold respect for everybody, even for some individuals who i feel don't deserve it. I am not violent and i don't talk ill about people without good reason. Racism is blamed for alot of the troubles of the world, but in fact racism is not to blame at all. People are to blame.
  24. Thought after Enlightenment

When there is no doubt, easy as that.... Next
