  1. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

You aren't pointing out anything-- you may think you are, or attempting to, but your assumptions continue to just point out how you think. Hindu Yogis aren't bothering us with these topics, nor do they have the international reach/resources to launch a propaganda campaign. I brought up eugenics because, like ID, it was a process in our thinking, the cultural history of man, that was necessary to realize as untrue. I was also trying to think of a shocking comparison so people may realize the stain ID-driven thought has on humanity, and how offensive it is.
  2. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

These are lives we are talking about, currently being ruined by those influenced by ID. If we are not to be passionate about anything so basic, what are we doing but wasting words? Ralis just posted further proof of the current destruction. I can pity willful ignorance, but I can't idly stand by-- for I4L's ignorance may be his bliss, but it is hell for other people.
  3. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

A small note to add, then I will try to stop harping on the subject: the Spanish Inquisition was not finally abolished until 1834. People here should be insulted by the mention of ID-- 200 years ago, most of the topics discussed here (not even the more esoteric stuff) would have had us burned for witchery in Europe or America. To even entertain ID now, in the 21st century, is an insult to all those who've suffered in the past and a direct insult to those of us who would rather not relive these atrocities in present times.
  4. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

Here is a tiny example of how ID gives fools their own god-complex. Jail in South Carolina bans all books except Bible. Again, just a tiny-- and recent-- example of how ID is contributing (and has contributed-- I need not bring up the Spanish Inquisitions) in the destruction of humanity. And no, vortex-- I have never been imprisoned, nor lived in the South. Here is a comment from that news article: "When imprisoned in my youth, twice, as a draft soldier, I was allowed more choice than that: there was the Bible, but also the Military Rules book... Wasn't allowed pen and paper, either. The idea of this was explained to me, in a very straightforward way, by the colonel himself, to whom I had complained that this rendered me mad: this was a place where reigned one unique thought, fundamental Christianism, and the army was it's armed extension. The barracks' prisons were considered as the last places were God were reigning supreme, and were people could be cleaned of all their wrong thoughts, and transformed. If they suffered and felt getting mad at this intellectual and mental mutilation, all the better. The sinners wholly merited to suffer, and their suffering was helping them to pay for our sins and purify. When I asked why not have torture sessions then, I saw in his eyes he had been thinking of it... Unfortunately, this was (not yet) possible."

My father died when I was two months old, and I am not a Baby Boomer-- your detective skills are as sad as your reasoning skills, not that anyone here should care about your faults-- much like you attempt to create baseless faults about me. You are like a child who wanders into the middle of a conversation. If one's mind is not so feeble to be brainwashed by Christianity, then they see the connection between ID and the western destructive mindset. I only get passionate because this is the crux of the world's problems-- if you or I4L could see how destructive of a mindset ID is to follow from, well... maybe that is too much to ask.
  6. Heheh, indeed. I've been training in swordsmanship and bagua intermittently for over the past decade, and have only recently formalized my own style. After I spend the next 10 years mastering that, maybe I'll look in teaching others, but for now I prefer anonymity and the journey.
  7. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

I like the subtle trickery in rephrasing "God did it" to "Intelligent Design"-- attempting to imply, by slipping in the word "intelligent" that it suddenly becomes a topic of intellectual discussion. Quite laugh-worthy.
  8. Steve, that sounds fascinating. I would be interested if you posted these translations, and maybe draw corresponding diagrams (if possible). How interesting and fulfilling your study must be.
  9. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

All I4L can do is post links from paid scientists of Christian organizations. At least when Drew spammed, Spring Forest actually may have benefits. ID says all power be to rich white guys (God obviously favored them to give such good conditions), and everyone and everything else should lay waste to his disposal. Frightening barbarism. I imagine every time we post a well-written rebuttal, these guys just hear "Battle Hymn of the Republic" in their heads. We have vortex and I4L versus everyone else either mocking them or complaining about this.
  10. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

For vortex to make such a comment... I mean, wow. Really? Are we all reading this? So, if Southern Christians endorsed slavery in 1860, then ALL CHRISTIANS CURRENTLY ENDORSE SLAVERY. I'm going by your logic, naturally.
  11. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

Vortex: Wow. Way to miss the point, there. Of course, if it involves advancing your christian agenda, reality doesn't matter eh? Yes, try to keep up with us. Everyone knows eugenics is now considered a joke. As much as ID is.
  12. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

If you were "debunking" eugenics or phrenology, I would not have a problem. If you were promoting eugenics or phrenology, I would be offended. In the same vein, ID as a topic is totally offensive to me as a human being, for it denies all creative forces inherent in matter and mind; it denies reality and robs mindless fools of their capacity for growth. Indeed, this topic is against the very nature of our board's usual discussions and TTB's MO-- I would recommend it being removed to the pit, if not for how harmful of an idea ID really is. This thread should be locked or deleted.
  13. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

Yeah, it is popular, but the popular sentiments are all complaints. This isn't discourse, you are not trying to open conversation on this topic, you are spamming the same thing all the time. It is hard to ignore, but it is not fun nor engaging. Honestly, the spam bots that post movie titles in the lobby are more entertaining.
  14. my kid trashing the bar

In the tradition of old shinto rituals, I agree it is a necessary ingredient for communing with the essence of nature, and to purify the essence of self. It also, by direct and long experience, enhances stretching exercises. There is a stigma, especially among the bourgeoisie and conservative, but only for the past 100 years when it became an industrial threat, or to further stigmatize minorities. I say you should go with intuition, since you obviously have a clear head on your shoulders. People who should stay away from it are those with weaker minds, folks already prone to stupidity.
  15. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

Haha-- ID or DO, surrender your minds, heathens. Is reality so terrifying we must create alternatives that delve into the realm of ridiculous? What is so hard to get over that the universe may be amoral and completely natural.
  16. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

I mean, Jesus Christ-- I'd rather read Vaj's repetitive comments instead. At least he was creative with his fantasies.
  17. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

It is not my place to judge anyone, or force anyone to believe something that they wouldn't want to, but I must confess I4L has left us no other recourse but to belittle him. He is so incorrigible, we cannot allow such ignorance to pass. Such men suffer under the conditions of all defeated or conquered peoples, for his ilk lost the cultural identity during the Age of Enlightenment. Those who cannot accept reality may dive into distractions such as booze or defiance. This is why Hawaiians or Native Americans have high alcoholism rates, and why Christian fundies would rather die in a blaze of glory in Waco. Since the international rhetoric is not "Love God (the Christ) or Die", people like I4L find it their duty to fight their "just cause", even though the war is over. God is on the decline-- maybe he will morph again in our imaginations, or finally die for good, but the era of believing in monolithic superstition is over. To take up the banner of ID, is to truly deny reality. Instead of having the common courtesy-- or even basic decency-- to not constantly bombard us with his cognitive dissonance and stay among his own kind (he even admits all his posts were meant to flame atheists from other forums), he chooses to bring unwelcome views here. It is fine if he wants to ignore the natural world (not really, since it effects humanity in the long run), and create his own fantasies or consume those fed to him by others, but when he forces (day after day, post after post) these views, spamming the same line over and over (didn't Drew Hempel get banned for something similar?)-- well, I think many here have already voiced their concern over this issue.
  18. The Nature of Enlightenment

That is part of it, yes, but not what I was describing in whole. Linguistically, "awareness" is more akin to knowledge through perception. I am saying a marriage of wisdom and knowledge is necessary to nurture as thought until actions are virtuous without thought. Awareness is a large part of it, sure, but many people grasp unto a small portion of awareness-- seeing a tip of an iceberg and mistaking that part as the entire thing. Now, complete awareness coupled with humbled wisdom-- maybe it is that simple.
  19. The So-called "Tree of Life" has been debunked

I wonder if eastern philosophers or mystics troll christian forums.
  20. most blissfull practice?

    Following your own bliss.
  21. The Nature of Enlightenment

Enlightenment is truth in brevity-- eternity in a single moment. Knowing the bigger and smaller pictures, and seeing how everything effects everything. Experiences leading to this and flowing from this are only meaningful to understanding the actions of yourself and others.
  22. I practice rigorous amounts of kata in my personal kenjutsu training, but not for repetition's sake-- I intuitively use what feels powerful, quick, or "right" during spontaneous kata moments, then focus on those movements to understand how effective it would be. I am assuming the intuition comes from natural momentum through certain pivots.
  23. The Nature of Self

Haha, that image is hilarious. Even the monkey is like "I don't know what to do with this."
  24. 19 day and counting

When the first one came out, I thought it would be stupid or childish-- but when I finally saw it, I was impressed by the movie's sensitivity and humor. I read in an interview that the creators worried their villain was too likable. Now it looks like the enemies use guns, or a firework-type cannon. Makes sense, otherwise we would have won the boxer rebellion.
