  1. Looking for a free Binaural Beat file

Thanks for posting that link SlackerBee. What a great site! I didn't care for the binaural beat programs, but the DIY Audio section is really outta sight, man! This one is excellent - The Mind Well Trained http://diydharma.org/mind-well-trained-thanissaro-bhikkhu
  2. Meditation driving me nuts

Focus on the FEEL of the flow of the air at your nostrils. Following the flow thru your body is more of a chi kung practice imo.
  3. Hitting the Wall

I think this is common for just about everybody. There is a definite "ebb and flow" to my own spiritual practice. I'll make great progress and then it stops. It's as if I can only go so far within before the insights, experiences, etc. need to be processed and fully integrated into my being and made a part of my outer being as well, in daily life. So long as you keep at your spiritual practice, I think it's a mistake to think that progress has stopped. There is still a lot going on "behind the veil".
  4. Meditation driving me nuts

Noticing when your mind wanders is progress. I find watching my breath is easier while laying down. You have to be careful not to fall asleep though. As Blasto said, doing yoga, chi kung, breathing, etc., before meditating is a great help. Maybe this will help http://straightlinemeditation.com/default.aspx Yoga nidra may be a good place to start too.

  6. sound bath

Hey Drew Thanks for the links. That Body Snatchers in the Desert sounds good. I wasn't paying too close attention during the 3rd hour. A caller asked about Alex Collier, but the guest (Nick) never heard of him, which I thought was kind of strange. Another caller asked if Nick thought UFO's/Aliens were interdimensional travelers or more like us. He didn't seem to have a definitive answer though. He seemed to suggest they were both. That's all I remember besides the wrap-up at the end of the show. Gordon

  9. Migraines

My girlfriend had some good success with this http://www.fourseasonsherbs.com/4seasons/m...ne_formula.html before I learned how to pull the extra energy out of her head. She used to get 2-3 migraines per week, but now hardly ever gets them anymore. It's easy to learn but you would need someone there to do it for you.
  10. Book for christmas. Reccomendations?

The Book of Nei Kung by C.K. Chu is excellent. http://www.amazon.com/Book-Nei-Kung-C-Chu/dp/0961658606
  11. You really can't go wrong purchasing SFQ. It's an excellent system and easy enough to learn. Chunyi Lin is a true Qigong Master. At first glance SFQ may seem over simplified, but if you commit to the practice you'll see the results.

I've gone back and forth on the whole plant vs standardized argument for years. I think I've had better results with whole plant extracts. I almost always use whole plant extracts, but I see the value of standardization as well.

  19. Astral Projection

I've had about 200 OBE's. When I was 20 they just started spontaneously. They were interesting to say the least. I knew what was happening because my older brother had several OBE's many years before and I was fascinated by his description of what happened. However, things took a turn for the worse. For five years I had entities attacking me when I went to sleep. They would grab my astral wrists and try to pull me out of my body. This was terrifying to say the least. The more I resisted, the harder they would pull. This happened so often that, on at least one occasion, I started mouthing off to them. ("You think you can take me? Bring it on!" ) BIG MISTAKE! While they had me by the wrists, pulling me upward, they would then start poking me in the ribs! It was a helpless feeling and at times I felt like I was fighting for my life. If I slept with the light on, nothing would happen. And if I had an OBE during the daytime, there were no problems. Only at night, in the dark. Sometimes I would leave my body and return 4 or 5 times during a nap. Keep in mind, I never tried to have an OBE, but I learned to settle in to that "place" where they were likely to happen. I think meditation helped me move in to that place between awake and sleeping where the OBE's would happen. On several occasions I could sit up and move my astral arms around while noticing that my physical arms were not moving at all. So, this wasn't a dreamlike experience. I was fully aware of what was happening and eventually had some control over how it manifested. Once I saw a rat standing by my closet, and another time a snake came out of my thigh. Sometimes all I could see were stars. All of these attacks happened between the ages of 20 -25. (I'm 45 now) At that young age I had two lives, so to speak. I meditated a lot, and was doing some intense spiritual seeking, but I was also still partying at night. (Not every night, but consistently) Nothing too heavy, but getting high and/or having a couple beers. Being very horny didn't help any either. I can only guess that this combination of things opened me up to these attacks. They became less frequent for a few years and I stopped partying, and gained some control over my sexual energy. As my spiritual practice deepened, the OBE's started to come back, but it was completely different. They became pleasant, and would often happen while I was performing Japa, and many times there were intense energetic "openings" (?) in the heart center, third eye, or top of the head. Other times it was as if I was hooked up to a power generator and it was pumping energy into my body. I could even hear it. I should also mention that I was a vegetarian from age 20 - 34 and that is when the great majority of the OBE's occurred. I also noticed that when I would wake up in the morning with strong morning wood, but continued to lay there, I would often have an OBE. So, what's the moral of the story? Get your mind right. Don't try to force an OBE. Let them happen naturally and spontaneously as a result of your spiritual practice and you may be rewarded with a beautiful, liberating experience. If you live a good, relatively clean life, and your mind is Godward, there is nothing to fear. Surrender. Being able to "fly" super fast and then stopping on a dime, just by using the mind, is kinda cool too. Sometimes, after an OBE, I would drift off to sleep and would have some very intense dreams, sometimes very spiritually uplifting and meaningful. So, that's my OBE story. Have fun!

  23. This is the same thing told to me back in 1990 by one of Mantak Chia's senior instructors (The Professor) when me and a friend were telling him about the difficulties we were having in understanding the theories of Taoism, chinese medicine, qigong, etc. He said you have to do the practices first, and then you will begin to understand the theory behind it. That has been some of the best advice I have ever received, and has made a world of difference in my practice. It is applicable to all of life actually.
