  1. I bought one of these on ebay, got an awesome deal. I tried it out for a few hours and was able to enter a trance much easier than trying to sit in a recliner, or seated in half lotus. I recommend you try one out at a massage place before buying one to see if you like the feel and think you could use it in your meditation. Oakworks portal pro 3 is the best on the market atm that I am aware of.
  2. THINKING CAP THAT CAN HELP THE BRAIN LEARN!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7208768.stm Alzheimer's helmet therapy hope Infra-red helmet Trial participants will wear the helmet for 10 minutes a day An experimental helmet is being tested by scientists as a treatment for Alzheimer's disease. It delivers low levels of infra-red light, which researchers at the University of Sunderland, believe may stimulate the growth of brain cells. Tests in mice showed it improved learning ability and a study in humans is due to begin in the summer. Current treatments for Alzheimer's delay progression of the disease but cannot reverse memory loss. The infra-red therapy was first developed to treat cold sores. We look forward to further research to determine whether it could help improve cognition in humans Alzheimer's Society But when researchers studied how it worked, they found it stimulated growth of cells and may have applications in other conditions. Daily therapy In tests in people with dementia using infra-red lasers, eight out of nine people showed some improvement, said Dr Gordon Dougal, a GP and director of Virulite, a medical research company based in County Durham. However, in order to safely deliver the treatment through the scalp, he developed a helmet which bathes the brain in low levels of infra-red light and would only need to be worn for 10 minutes a day. Trials of around a 100 people with age-related memory problems will now look to see if the beneficial results seen in mice can be replicated in humans. Dr Dougal said as cells age they lose the ability to repair and regenerate themselves, which in the brain leads to loss of memory. "Currently all you can do with dementia is to slow down the rate of decay - this new process will not only stop that rate of decay but partially reverse it," he added. The Alzheimer's Society said it was a potentially interesting technique. "A treatment that reverses the effects of dementia rather than just temporarily halting its symptoms could change the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people who live with this devastating condition. "We look forward to further research to determine whether it could help improve cognition in humans. "Only then can we begin to investigate whether near infra-red could benefit people with dementia."
  3. Massage Chairs For Deep Meditation & Trance Work

No prob It is really helping my practice at least for trance work, I feel like it mimics the fetal position to be in one of these chairs.
  4. Forbidden Rice

Supposedly forbidden rice was grown only for the emperors as it was considered highly valuable and full of chi. It's black and dark purple when cooked because of its high anthocyanin content (the chemical that colors blueberries) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidden_rice I've been eating a lot of this along with purple corn, black beans and dried blueberries http://content.herbalgram.org/abc/herbalgr...view.asp?a=2779 I've been reading a lot about vision changes that occur when eating dark purple foods with high anthocyanin content. I've noticed enhanced color depth, contrast and crispness in my vision. Need for glasses is heavily reduced and its only been a week since I started eating these foods. Just wanted to share with you guys.
  5. Forbidden Rice

been getting mine off amazon.com if you sort around you can find really low prices. Oh and amazon has a really awesome selection of teas too! also you can sort by best selling which gives you a good idea of which products are best then you can find the lowest price for that one. also check ebay and google shopping and reseller ratings for the lowest price if its a brand name item. the purple corn and forbidden purple rice are rather cheap compared to dried blueberries. $4.00/lb vs $12/lb some other foods that seem very cheap and high in antioxidants and low in pesticides are brussel sprouts and tomato powder/paste , tumeric powder, walnuts and brazil nuts.
  6. Extreme Gas During Meditation

Try eating yogurt, or taking a good bacteria called lactobacillus sporogenes. Lactobacillus sporogenes is a good spore forming bacteria which can survive being dried out in a pill form and readily colonize your intestine. Your issue may be due to a deficiency in good bacteria which break down lactose.
  7. Controlling sexual desire

Don't quote me on this, but I think the goal is to sublimate your sexual desire into something else, thereby relieving the tension your feeling.

  11. Ken Cohen is the real deal

hey man, just watch the video for yourself frame by frame, that's all I have to say about it.
  12. Ken Cohen is the real deal

No, I just suggested that people slow down the video frame by frame and look at it for themselves and draw there own conclusions. I got into a debate arguing for his legitimacy and used that video as evidence of his abilities, a skeptic I was debating with took some still images and showed me some interesting things.
  13. Ken Cohen is the real deal

Did not like what? Spring Forest or Ken Cohen? I think initially I liked Cohen, but later came to regard him as douchebag after I studied his course more thoroughly. To the best of my knowledge I always liked the Spring Forest Qigong system and master Lin. Cohen's teachings may be legit but I get a wishy washy new agey feeling about him that just makes me want to punch him in the eye. I can't stand new agey wishy washy peaced out hippy sounding people. I don't want to slander anyone watch a video on robert peng's site the chopstick demo, use windows movie maker to view it frame by frame, then go to youtube and watch how such a similar magic trick is preformed, see if you notice any similarities. Draw your own conclusions.
  14. Ken Cohen is the real deal

The manual contains everything in the course, but its dry an pasty compared to the audio/video portion. Kohen < Chunyi Lin (SFQ)

Oh please, you see no reason to continue it but yet you have to reply one last time? LOL Your wrong just plain and simple. Practicing what we were taught at the conference has never led to anyone blowing themselves up, at least that I am aware of, and yes were certain the same exercises were covered. You can cease and desist with your scare tactics now, everyone can see the emperor never had any clothes. I know what we learned, the other people there know what we learned as well. I'd go over with you in a private conversation but I am afraid it would be future "blackmail" material you'd dredge up years from now to suite your needs. We are all going to die eventually, I am sure many people died from wrong practices. But mjj here has beat the war drums continuously about how dangerous some schools are, and then it turns out the same techniques are apart of other more respected schools and cause no "noted" ill effects. I call BS, on mjjbecker and his traveling band of minstrels. Just my $0.02 BZwuTo7zKM8

houtian, I know what I was taught at the lmp seminar and they most certainly did include exercises I had previously learned. It built upon it and included a lot more additional information. I am not certain if I am allowed to publicly discuss the training however. I have been over this many times with a fellow attendee who also knows about both schools and we both concur the exercises are near identical, although what we were taught at the seminar expands upon the other dramatically, but there is no mistaking the same exercises were present. Personally I don't think anything we were taught is dangerous, perhaps I am wrong though. peace -mpg

I don't know why I posted this, I just found it and has some granted me some much needed laughter. It's not directed at anyone (before I get flamed) just symbolic of my frustration with the argument of "your going to blow yourself up with school X, but choose school Y it's safer but teaches the exact same exercises."

Vortex, In your opinion did anything you learned at the LMP conference seem dangerous to you? That is assuming the individual practiced it exactly as taught.
  20. S.O.S. MJJ Becker!

I am only interested in practices / schools that get results and more importantly the mechanisms behind why they work. I want to build a new conceptual framework for things of this nature, a new map of reality if you will.

Mokona, Thanks. I'd say what rudimentary information I have on Long Men Pai, and Spring Forest Qigong probably ring the most true for me in my heart. But I am always searching, I believe there are 10,000 ways to skin a cat, and I am interested in the most effective and efficient ones, and most importantly how and why they work. Mjj and I agree that spring forest is an excellent system although I wonder if he actually studied the same course material I did about it. My goal isn't to become a master at life, or become a better person etc. I simply want to leave this place to exist in some sort of limbo for eternity if that's even possible. My whole interest in MP, LMP, LSD, etc is that these schools offer a path with milestones to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps and break the cycle of reincarnation. I guess a lot of people desire the power to control others my advice to them is to drop out of cultivation and become a politician. I doubt many of the people who seek power for that reason have the patience to meditate daily for 30 years.
  22. S.O.S. MJJ Becker!

Were debating in a vacuum until mjj graces us with his feelings on the matter, which apparently is not going to happen. Also yes I can see why a neocon with sithlord powers might be a bad thing.

I think my head is about to explode. All of this because I asked you what you thought about john chang personally, and you still dodge the question. You could have simply declined it from the start and saved about 20 pages of drama. I should have known better than to try and ask you anything without some drama queen response. You preach a lot about all this love and and heart work, stilling the mind, etc. but you come across as one of the most hateful, argumentative and childish people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. All I can say is the exercises I am aware of are in many other schools that don't cause your heart valve to explode, or at least I've never heard of such occurring in those schools. That could mean either 1. I don't know the real exercises or 2. You have some ulterior motive to discourage people from seeking out the system altogether. I am going with 2 personally, but I don't know what the reason is. Maybe its just sour grapes, the same thing you accuse so many others of having. Peace out guys, Sorry I ruined your thread.
  24. S.O.S. MJJ Becker!

I'd like to ask you one last time, what do you think of Chang on a personal level? Do you like or dislike him? Do you think he is a good or a bad person? I am just curious about your personal evaluation of him, what sort of vibe did you get from him. I don't know why you felt the need to take it to this level Mike. This thread started out with a question about your experience with Chang. I have gotten the impression you don't like Chang on a personal level, and that might be totally incorrect. So I asked bluntly how you felt about him, what kind of person you thought he was, etc. Also You've stated several times how dangerous MP is, I don't see how it could possibly be any more dangerous than several other practices which share its training, but whatever. That is what makes me question why you tell everyone this, I am trying to figure out your true motivation. Is it to protect Chang from an onslaught of incoming seekers? I don't know exactly what your true motivation is. Whatever it is I didn't intend for you to blow an engine gasket over it.
  25. S.O.S. MJJ Becker!

mjj, I only asked one question, what you personally thought of Chang, you derailed it from there my friend and you never answered the question. Sure publish away, I don't negotiate with people who use "blackmail" as a tactic, and I don't think I said anything bad to you if I did that's my bad. I think my analysis of your character is spot on. "Apologize now or I'll do something bad to you" jesus how childish can you be?? mjjbecker you can bite me. publish away. -mpg
