  1. Jetsun, how do you feel when you face these hurtful happenings and the feelings that go with them? does it make you close up? Personally i've been through a lot of crap during the years, i've found the only way to come to terms with it is to face it head on inside of oneself, and just be open and accepting of everything that comes up, not close up/run away etc.. it gives one strength and freedom when this is practised and you will find yourself walking into situations in the outer world which you will not turn away from. Hope this helps somewhat.. all the best.
  2. I'm a skinny guy with lack of confidence, and this inhibits my daily life to some degree. It is very unbalancing. I always wanted to be bigger and stronger due to being bullied at school. But since i got involved with spiritual practices, i've thought on occasion that it is my ego wanting to compete with the past bullies etc and i should not give in. Am i being stubborn here? or should i just ahead and give it my best shot, do you think? Will lifting effect any cultivation i do negatively or the opposite could happen when i get more confidence and have a more balanced life it will improve? Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers Ed
  3. Hi Eugene, Yes, I learned from the dvd. The movements are quite simple relative to some other systems including taiji, although similar in some respects, these movements don't require special alignments. If you get the dvd, bare in mind that as YaMu said, he has had a lot of traumatic injuries, so his movement may not seem as graceful as some other qigong or taiji practitioners.. But the system is good, and the fact that he is moving the way he does gives the system a lot of credit. Peace
  4. YaMu, I've learnt up to move six so far of GOT, i'm finding the calmness you speak of, also i keep experiencing my right hand becoming cold while the left one is warm? Are there benefits particular to each movement? Realise each one takes you up a level... how important is it to complete all levels in one go? Thanks, Edward
  5. AMORC

Thanks for the replies!! that book seems good, although i've only had a chance to skim through it so far Anyone had good results in terms of development with them? Thanks
  6. Good posts on here so far here is a good/interesting video: Peace
  7. Thanks Jeff, I may do that. Have a good one! Peace
  8. Thanks Jeff! i've seen this site before, also have his book Gnosis of the cosmic Christ. Must read it again soon, thanks for reminder! will try and register on the site now! Peace
  9. Also, what do you bums think of the practices in light of this video?: I can see how it corresponds with Sufism, but I know very very little about the Gnostic practices of Christianity. Peace
  10. I'd be extremely interested in hearing about gnostic christianity and their practices, if anyone could offer any information or point me to information, that would be very very cool! Peace
  11. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

I'm not going to debate on this, but i'll say that there are two ways that do the same thing. One way deals directly with energy and fusion etc, the other deals with the mind and leads to the same energetic changes. One leads to the other, mind to body/energy and energy/body to mind. When you do your chi practices, don't you feel a difference in your mental processes and have realisations? Peace
  12. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

MPG, are you taking into account that with each realisation comes a release of tension within and a change energetically? Peace
  13. Is this Mo Pai Level 1 ?

    Does this help: http://www.sacred-texts.com/bud/ettt/index.htm Peace
  14. Shiva's 112 techniques

    Thanks for posting!!! Edward
  15. What do you want out of your practice?

It's a great quote, but it actually originates from the New Testament which is where the Sufi's got it from. To the Sufi's, Christ is very important. Peace
  16. What do you want out of your practice?

Thanks! been quite a journey already with a lot of setbacks haha All the best in your quest also mate! Peae
  17. What do you want out of your practice?

I cultivate because I want to know the truth (I don't know what the truth is yet, so in that sense not sure what i'm looking for) and to help me to become a better functioning and more complete person. Thanks.
  18. This is a good video which echoes what someone has told me after he cross-referenced the veda's, gnostic scriptures and sumeriun texts.. Peace
  19. Hey Bums, Hoping I could get a little advice/tips from some of the experienced practitioners on this board. So, the issue I have is that it is necessary for me to retain ideally for a month at a time in order to build up kidney yin and overall kidney/energy system strength. But because of this i'm told it's not a great idea for me to run the mco in case kidneys can't take it. I'm getting side effects from retaining that include restlessness, agitation and over active mind. The good effects i'm getting include stronger legs and it taking much less time to get into one pointedness when I sit. I guess my question is will just sitting watching the breath (which feels great at the moment, probably only time that I feel complete apart from a small shamanic practice I do) help to move some of this energy/ circulate it? Anything else you could recommend? i'm under care of a good tcm doctor who's prescriptions help a great deal, but go through periods like now when i need something more to help. My feeling is it is building up at the solar plexus somewhat which is probably blocked to some degree. I'm not looking to fiddle with individual chakra's, I don't believe it is good practice unless instructed properly. Also, please don't recommend taiji or other ima, i'm done with that..long story! Thanks in advance!
  20. MarksOfGlory, Thanks so much!! that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for! I wont be trying the advanced sitting practice you mentioned to be cautious with, i'm not qualified plus i've had problems with energy in the head anyway. Okay, gonna write this down and practice within the hour. This is very interesting because i've had pain in the diaphram lately and a sickly feeling that stinks of unprocessed fears etc.. For grounding, do you have any specific recommendations? i'm doing a lot of gardening work at the moment which i find helps in that respect.. Once again, thanks so much!
  21. I HAD A DREAM! Of a Monk?He spoke to me!

Can't really say anything on your dream Leon apart from monks are thought to be symbolic of the higher self. Jetsun, your dream suggests to me that you have frozen emotions that are depriving your higher self of it's life within your conscious being. Just my interpretation, only you can know what it really is pointing to. Peace Ed
  22. Loss of lust and libido ?

Ya Know, i'd say this is a case of energy sickness caused by excessive loss of essence, and not kundalini. Mike, all i can say to you is think about the long term. Do you want to risk going bald early, premature ejaculation, having a hard time maintaining wood by the time you are thirty? Over doing now can deplete the yin of the kidneys and cause this... when the yin is low it cannot hold the yang, which is the active energy you seem to be addicted to right now. Also think of this,, what you are chasing after is some sort of satisfaction, but this kind of satisfaction never lasts, like you say, once it's over you want more... the only satisfaction/contentment that lasts is being content with what you have now and not letting things bother you including lusts, desires and other thoughts feelings etc... this can't be done if you exhaust yourself because you need a strong mind to be able to be like that. Whacking off to porn causes a severe stress response in the human being meaning release of lots of harmful stress hormones that age the body and mind. So you can have a big spike of fun now,, but believe me when you hit thirty you might just regret doing so.. it will effect your cycling as well... Not meaning to be all doom and gloom here, just hoping you will consider the long term. No offence intended. Peace
  23. The Path of the Christian Gnostics

+1 for Tau Malachi, haven't been involved in his groups, but i have his book Gnosis of the Cosmic Christ.. was very impressed with it. It has some excellent knowledge in and some good practices. I tried one of the invocations, and yes, it is the real genuine deal. Highly recommend the book and if there were study groups in the UK i probably would have joined one by now. Peace
  24. LSD and Shrooms will NOT halt kundalini.... in fact it set off someone I know into a big Kundalini experience and completely changed them. They also had to go on anti-psychotic medication. If you took either, what it might well do is shift your focus in life to spiritual side of things, which may well cause you to embrace kundalini experience. That being said i personally think if it was kundalini you are experiencing you would find this happening already, but only you can know this for real, so just my 2 cents. Can't comment on Iboga i'm afraid. **edit** forgot to say i wouldn't take lsd like someone else said already unless you are completely stable and in touch with your subconscious already.. Peace, Ed
