  1. Hello Awake,

I believe what you are going through speaks to alot of people on their journey through life, myself included. I have to agree with a lot of the advice that you have received here so far. There have been times in my own life that situations presented themselves and I "froze up" or couldn't find the right words. One of the things I appreciate wholeheartedly about the TTB is the focus that we are all after in elevating ourselves by the investment of time in onesself. Before we can help anybody else we must first help ourselves. When it comes down to it ... It's so easy to lose our way. The times in my own life where I truly focused on bettering myself, (especially during my bodybuilding days) Things happened that I couldn't explain, but now looking back have a better understaning of.

The toughest part is sticking with it once the results start to come into play, never give up, once you find your stride, build on that formula. What worked for me or another might not work for you. However, one must only look to those who came before and study what made that person successful. Findley provided a good foundation to start with. You can't go wrong with lifting weights, and incorporating meditation. Focus on you.... See yourself as you want you to be. Create a mission statement and read I out loud daily. Love yourself for who you are an the limitless potential you need only tap into. It's there, the river of limitless possibility, waiting for you, waiting for all of us to simply reach out and take hold. If you need me I'm here ....

  2. Wow! Good Stuff Badala! Interesting path you are on, and I appreciate you joining thetaobums sharing your journey. If only the world at large could shed the labels and join the path of self discovery and understanding there is nothing that could stand in the way of mankind realize our full potential! Oh, and welcome!!

  3. Hello everybody,

I started my Martial path studying Ryukyu Kempo, Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, and Modern Arnis 10 years ago. Life circumstances cut my path short, but I found my way back February of last year training religiously for a year straight twice a week. I've been sidelined currently due to a rotator cuff injury. I'm currently reviewing the options out there for an internal practice I can integrate with my MA once I'm physically well again. I'm still pretty new to TTB's site and would like to say that everybody I've exchanged emails with has been just awesome! I'm looking forward to meeting more of the TTB's members and hope we can learn much from one another.

    Peace & Friendship ...

  4. Al Huang -- I love the guy. Was around him a bit back in 1980 at Esalen. I worked in the kitchen there for a few months, and on my breaks I would go into the workshop room where there was a piano, and improvise. One time I was playing and workshop participants began to arrive, so I stopped playing. Then Al appeared out of nowhere (so light on his feet!) and told me to continue, and everyone was spontaneously dancing to the music. One of those transcendent moments I'll never forget.

I barely know tai chi at all, but I know when I meet someone who embodies it. Some think that Huang is more of a dancer than tai chi/qigong teacher.. I have no idea, but I know he inspires me.

Right now I have my DVD player hooked up and not my VCR, and some day I will go back and see these old videos, but am glad to share them in the meantime.

As for Dunn, good but "nothing special" was my feeling too. I bought this one because I thought it would be easier for me to do seated exercises, but I underestimated how fatiguing the arm movements can be!

I don't mind sending the three, and would be interested to hear your impressions of all of them. PM me your address.

    Hello Karen,

I am intersted in some titles. I would be more than happy to transfer any ones that are on VHS to DVD for you. PM me and let me know.

    Thanks,

    Tommy
