  1. I found this interesting article after talking with my Father in Law about the situation. Some always seem to try to come up with a plausible explanation when it seems nature is trying to tell us something of much deeper meaning.

"Dead Birds Fall From Sky In Sweden, Millions Of Dead Fish Found In Maryland, Brazil, New Zealand

Millions of dead fish surfaced in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay in the U.S., Tuesday, while similar unexplained mass fish deaths occurred across the world in Brazil and New Zealand. On Wednesday, 50 birds were found dead on a street in Sweden. The news come after recents reports of mysterious massive bird and fish deaths days prior in Arkansas and Louisiana.

The Baltimore Sun reports that an estimated 2 million fish were found dead in the Chesapeake Bay, mostly adult spot with some juvenile croakers in the mix, as well. Maryland Department of the Environment spokesperson Dawn Stoltzfus says "cold-water stress" is believed to be the culprit. She told The Sun that similar large winter fish deaths were documented in 1976 and 1980.

ParanaOnline reports that 100 tons of sardines, croaker and catfish have washed up in Brazilian fishing towns since last Thursday. The cause of the deaths is unknown, with an imbalance in the environment, chemical pollution, or accidental release from a fishing boat all suggested by local officials.

In New Zealand, hundreds of dead snapper fish washed up on Coromandel Peninsula beaches, many found with their eyes missing, The New Zealand Herald reports. A Department of Conservation official allegedly claims the fish were starving due to weather conditions.

While all three events are likely unrelated, they come after recent reports of mysterious dead birds falling from the sky in both Arkansas and Louisiana. Thousands of dead birds were found in Beebe, Arkansas on New Year's Eve, and a few days later, around 500 of the same species were found 300 miles south in Louisiana. A Kentucky woman also reported finding dozens of dead birds scattered around her home. In the days prior to New Year's, nearly 100,000 fish surfaced in an Arkansas river 100 miles west of Beebe. Officials are now saying that fireworks likely caused the Arkansas bird deaths, and power lines may be to blame for the death of the birds in Louisiana.

Some remain skeptical of the explanations. Dan Cristol, a biology professor and co-founder of the Institute for Integrative Bird behavior Studies at the College of William & Mary, told the AP that he was hesitant to believe fireworks were to blame unless "somebody blew something into the roost, literally blowing the birds into the sky."

Wednesday, officials in Sweden reported the finding of 50 dead birds on a street, suggesting that cold weather or fireworks were the likely culprit."

  3. I just wanted to share with you all some benefits of my SpringForestQiGong practice. I have been steadily at it since February of this year. Up until September my standing/moving practice began to really suffer due to pain I was experiencing in my right hip. Inflamation, soreness, and the hardware from a 15 year old Motorcross accident were becoming more than I could bare. I felt through what my body was telling me it was time for it to come out. On November 24th they removed all of the hardware from my right hip. The main concern was taking 15 year old hardware out could shatter my femur which would have meant installing replacement hardware all over again or total hip replacement. By the grace of God, the love of my friends & family, prayers, and the collective positive energy of those who pulled for me I have come out of this intact. The residual effects of me having done springforest qigong (as well as some other energy practices) have helped me especially during this time as I am finding myself standing on my left leg a lot these days during recovery. The balance Ive learned has been priceless. I am bouncing back faster than any other time of any surgical procedure I have ever been faced with. Its going to take 3 months for the bone to close back up. I will keep working on my practice whether laying or sitting until I can move forward again. This is my testimony towards the internal/external energy arts. You never know when you will be faced with something like this. Im glad I have learned and practiced what I have thus far, and thank all of you along the way that have helped me learn something new. I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday season to you and your loved ones.

    Cheers,

  4. HaHahahahaha Drew ..... Surely ... You jest!

Thanks Susan for the tip Susan. For $2.79 and free shipping it's worth a try. My wife suffers from debilitating migraines maybe this will help, plus the putty in the hands thing too!

  5. I found this device on one of the forums I go to when looking for parts. I recall seeing Mantak Chia using a similar device for hitting acupoints on the body. Effective .. Not Effective, decent price ... What do you all think?

  6. I would ask "Would it be possible at some point in the future about expanding the curriculum of Spring Forest Qigong to other academic institutions across the US? If so, Could more research be officially applied for so data can be compiled, analyzed, and condensed? Does he see the day when Western Medicine and TCM will become the standard for health care in the U.S.? Full accreditation?

  7. Hi all,

with some friends of mine we decided to use white lighting meditation in order to welcome the spring.

To do that, a friend of mine read the text; then I edited the text and put it on a 40 minutes audio file, that Bum Grassoper sent me as the Kunlun brainwave entrainment file.

I think is quite nice, have a try and let me know what do you think:

    Enjoy :)

    Hello Buscon,

I tried checking your file d/load. Appears to have expired. Could you refresh an upload for it?

  8. Hey rock on Tommy! Sounds like you're doing awesome. I was actually trying to gain weight over the last six months -- just for the fun of it. I used to have a bit of a tire -- a bit pudgy before puberty but then I went vegetarian about 16 years.... Anyway so the last six months I was drinking alcohol regularly since my parents drink and I'm back with them. Finally I gained weight -- and fast! haha. Anyway I stopped drinking since it's poison but it was an interesting experiment as far as the psychoactive properties, etc.

    http://hubpages.com/...l-makes-you-fat

I used to call alcohol "liquid fat" before I ever really drank regularly -- not sure where I got that.

    http://healthnewsdig...4_printer.shtml

In fact one of my favorite saying's is, "Alcohol the Liquid Fat" and worse, it can become more fattening than fat! So, while this isn't the time for most of us to start a diet, I suggest it's time to maintain. Now, why is alcohol more fattening than fat?

    The Why

Fat contains 9 calories per gram, and alcohol contains 7 calories per gram. However, alcohol does not go through the exact same digestive process as dietary fat. Our body uses energy to digest and absorb all nutrients including fat, which means that about 10% of our calories are used up during the digestive process. Not the case with alcohol! Alcohol begins to enter our bloodstream through our tongue, then our stomach (especially when we have an empty stomach) and then the remainder goes through the usual route of digestion and absorption through the small intestine. Even water doesn't reach our bloodstream and cells as quickly! So, the calories in alcohol are almost like our "net fat calories" after digestion. Hence, my famous "Alcohol the Liquid Fat" (sorry!).

    Hello Drew,

I didn't address the alcohol factor, but during this 6mth window I did in fact drink Miller Lite. At least one or two a day. On the weekends when working outside in the yard I drank a lot of water and beers as well. 1. I never thought I would ever be a miller lite drinker, and 2. I NEVER thought I could have dropped the amount of weight I have drinking beer at all! Even though most of the meals I've been eating contain no meat, no GMO's, rBST hormone free milk, animal enzymes or rennet (specifically speaking of Amy's organic meals) also most of their products contain no gluten (I may have a slight adversity to gluten). I still will eat chicken and fish on occasion. I've done pretty well staying away from meats in general. I am steering towards moderation and not any excessive behaviors. :D

  9. You may want to avoid agave & honey too - as both are high in fructose. And emerging research is now showing that high amounts of fructose can cause health problems, especially for those sensitive to it. Of course, high fructose corn syrup would be the worst offender here - but the jury is still out on how "bad" other more natural sources may be. So, you could play it safe by minimizing all excess intake for now. And reality is, why do any of even "need" any added sweeteners, anyways?

Cool, how long do you sit in full lotus now and how strainful is it? I've been sitting in half lotus for almost 10 months now, but full lotus still feels strained to me, so I haven't transitioned to it yet. Patience, sigh... :D

Hello Vortex, I have to say as far as full lotus, sitting up straight and feeling the weight and pressure of this posture I went at least 30-45min for my first nose to the grindstone run. That is until my left leg started going to sleep, haha. I rolled over on the lawn and laid flat until it dissipated and went back into full lotus. There is one other way that I have been able to do full lotus without any pain at all. The times I've done this I could have been in it for hours, but life beckons. Fill a garden style tub with hot/warm water throw the legs into full lotus, and lay back letting the water in the tub suspend the body. You can do the posture sitting up as well. It seemed that the warm water does a lot to help the muscles relax through the entire body and not be compressed the way they are sitting in the traditional way within the position. Yeah, as far as the sweeteners I have cut back a lot. I literally cannot eat a lot of processed things anymore. Should I fall prey to any of the so called "goodies" out there my body will punish me severely. (heart burn/stomach ache/acid reflux, etc etc) I would eventually like to get to the point of not using any sweetener at all. Patience indeed my friend. Talk about crawling before I can learn to walk again.

  10. I have been practicing Spring Forest level 1 since February of this year daily. My body has responded well so far, and at a height of 5ft 6in I have dropped from 169lbs to 145 as of this morning. I also had made some dietary adjustments as well that helped in the weight loss. I cut out eating ANY of the food that is provided on campus (University Of Florida). Almost all of it is institutional food full of preservatives and God knows what else. My Wife has been using Whole Wheat flour for any of the baking she does for us. We have cut out all white flour. As far as sweetener we have cut out using Splenda, and Sugar. We are currently using Agave nectar or local honey. As far as convenience food we have been enjoying Amy's organic meals which can be located in the freezer section of Walmart, or Publix. Not sure about the other chains. I used to suffer from acid reflux from eating a lot of different food. However, eating the way I have been and doing the Spring Forest QiGong all of that is now a thing of the past. My mind, and my thoughts are much more clear and focused. As of yesterday I also began sitting Full Lotus in my backyard. I would have tried sooner, but have been having a lot of hip problems. (previous broken hip from cycle accident) I sit half lotus at my desk at work as it's the only one I can do in the chair at work. It's one thing for one to hear how difficult it is to still the mind, but in practice ... WoW! A challenge to say the least. I can see why hiking deep into a forest away from all in town distractions would be one of the best places to still the mind. I live in North Florida, and I know of no caves (at least near by anyway) that could be utilized. I hope my posting will help others on their path.

    Cheers,

    Tommy

  11. I hope Hollywood continues to create more movies with these themes. Maybe it will get the general public more interested in the lifestyle of the way, and ignite the appetite for learning more about the benefits of the Taoist path.

  12. My Wife, and I saw it yesterday. It exceeded expectations as it's always a gamble when Hollywood remakes a previous story line. She had seen a report that it was Jackie Chan's first dramatic role. I thought he did pretty well, and there were areas of China that have never been filmed before. Thoughts/Opinions?

    Be Well,

    Tommy

By the way, it was nice to see some information on the understanding of the inner arts weaved into the story.

  13. That is the purpose of this list, to get feedback...you probably didn't read the first post and jumped in... :D

His structure of shaktipat seems different from others.

Anyway, I received some 15 PMs about Mystress and every one said good things. My brother got me a b'day gift and guess what....a tummo session with Mystress (Sigmund actually). It is set up for 18th. After my Kunlun debacle, I am not too sure if I want to try anything new, especially that I am quite happy with my current practice. But then there is also this temptation you see... Still thinking what to do ...

Silicon, what happened with Kunlun for you? (the debacle details)
