  1. Shifting through some old compilations of quotes I found this: [Lifted from here.]
  2. The four fundamentals of reality? That'll be the elements of Air, Fire, Water and Earth, innit?
  3. Here's an interesting and touching story; I've heard that the consciousness can remain with the body for three days or more after death: Man who slept next to his dead wife's body for six days recommends the experience
  4. Sounds like you've a bit of Aghori in you! I've found that the grieving period can be quite liminal, there's something about the softness of the heart and the rawness that lends itself to it. edit: tpyoS
  5. Metatron

Here the author talks about the published book and her personal books:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5-CmFMrxiHc
  6. I'd wager that the gradual approach(es) have more prerequistes than the non-gradual.
  7. How to meditate correctly

Even though I would use the term trance state advisedly that is an excellent point about trance states. But ouch! Your response to what is given to Buddhist practitioners from Buddhist teachers with no thought of competition with other traditions exhibits a hostile undercurrent and makes for an eyebrow raising read.
  8. How to meditate correctly

According to Buddhism yes - getting into dull blank mental states and mistaking them for clarity and stillness.
  9. bad connotation imo

Thanks! Wuji is a much better description and the reference to Plato is illuminating. Edit: Speling coerrtcion
  10. bad connotation imo

How about a Tai Chi mind? Movement in the stillness and stillness in the movement.
  11. Mushrooms and psychedelics? Soon to be available from your doctor (Ok I'm exaggerating): First evidence found that LSD produces 'higher' level of consciousness, scientists claim
  12. an appealing forum

Smashing quote from a smashing program : )
  13. Awareness is exhausting!

When I first started meditating and chanting it was really exhausting and all sorts of counter impulses would arise. Perserverance and good motivation pays off. All the best.
  14. Effectiveness of Mudras

Wow that Tibetan Mind Seal mudra is exactly the same as the Mandala Offering mudra representing Mount Meru surrounded by the Four Continents.
  15. Who you are, where you have come from and where you are going.
  16. It has many nuances but basically the wish that others are free from suffering and the causes of suffering. There's also an element of wishing others to reach to their full spiritual potential: "Since the path is shown, there is compassionate love" (quoted from Uttaratantra Shastra). Edited for format errors. Tip - don't use square brackets again when quoting another poster, the quoted post doesn't display properly. Later edit: tpyo
  17. Here's something to beware of: 'spiritual bypassing': It's often said that spiritual practice requires virtues like grounding, courage, persistence, wisdom and compassion and there's why. I don't think the concept of spiritual bypassing is anything new, it's old wine in new bottles, but it is a good modern restatement of something that's always warned against but can get missed easily. As well as being symptomatic of misapplied practice these aspects can also be causes and spurs to spiritual practice too.
  18. It's difficult to generalise for all circumstances and situations, but in the recent past I consciously chose not to go on the offensive in a situation that caused much inner turmoil and hurt and doors opened on my path.
  19. How to Feed Your Demons

Read the text and follow the links people - it's about one's own inner demons and gods not external beings. Eternal beings aren't denied either, but it's all about one's own internal patterns. A peruse at http://taramandala.org will see if it resonates or not. If Jung's quote below makes one uncomfortable then this sort of work may not be for you: "There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” Edit: tpyo
  20. With reincarnation in mind, Light may refer to the higher realms of existence while Darkness to the lower three realms of existence.
  21. Neidan vs Mantrayana

So it was, sorry my bad.
  22. Neidan vs Mantrayana

    Buddhist neidan is tsa lung.
