  1. Qigong Grandmaster John Tsai

Leah, Thank you for your story and share. I enjoyed reading about your personal account. Thanks, John
  2. So Many Qigong Traditions : How To Approach ?

Pick who you are drawn to. Be clear what you want, then select someone that provides that. Teacher and practice are very important, as the teacher and system imparts it's energy to you. It's important to pick a solid system as good living lineages provide a lot to their practitioners, such as protection and guidance. My understanding is that you should be careful that you select wisely in that you can pick up the blockages of the teacher. As you practice and develop, you will receive insight and gifts.... of say a new movement, insight or way of practicing. This is how qigong and practice can develop. Best of luck. John
  3. Qigong Grandmaster John Tsai

I'd love to hear your account of training with your master. Thanks for your time, if you do :). John
  4. Practicing in the Pool

If the water is cold it is generally considered bad. Chun yi lin denounces tai chi practiced in pools because it allows cold to get into the body, and generally worsens conditions.
  5. Potent Systems

Yes they are the same. Dr. Ming was the originator of zhineng/wisdom healing qigong/chi-lel qigong.
  6. SM - Importance of Tree gong

Loosely defined yes that is true. QIgong, as a term, was created in the 1950s to define and catch all energy work. In general it is considered now as the external practices and movements that support people in working with qi. I point it out because not all lineages have these different aspects. Generally the good and legitimate ones do.... and more. Nei gong - internal qigong (no movements or only spontaneous movements externally). Qigong - external energy work Sitting - meditative practices Standing - standing postures Sleeping - qigong/nei gong done while asleep Tree - qigong/nei gong done with a tree. John
  7. SM - Importance of Tree gong

To add a bit more detail, it is a lineage of practice, of which includes Nei gong, qigong, sitting, standing, sleeping and tree practices. John
  8. SM - Importance of Tree gong

The form we are talking about in this thread is Stillness Movement (gong/work). And it specifically interacts with trees as a tree gong. John
  9. Is this MoPai?

Yea I understand your point, and to clarify I wouldn't put it under the claim of 'too intellectual' or dismiss the point. Mo pai is a martial tradition that supports potentially very high level results, but with very high risks along the way. Risks that other traditions don't share. To be very specific only Mo pai provides Mo pai results. Even if it is similar to other traditions, the vibrations(qi,energy, etc) is unique to their tradition and how they move it in your body. Some traditions aren't compatible with others, and I think Mo pai is one of them. John
  10. Is this MoPai?

Unless it explicitly states and claims as a Mo pai tradition, it isn't Mo pai. There is more to every lineage than the practices that make them up, as the previous masters contribute to current practitioners. Not to mention, intent, design and focus of all the practices, which make up the lineage and result in the direction the lineage takes it's students. John
  11. Organ meditations

Gift of the Tao 2 has a specific set of movements that work with each organ.
  12. As an FYI we have a new podcast at: https://www.spreaker.com/show/light-warrior-podcast
  13. Where do I go from here?

In support of you making headway in your path, reading over your post I feel suspect of the conclusions you are making. I'm aware that in energy work the progress I think I should be making isn't necessarily the progress I make. Which is also to say that when things happen, it doesn't necessarily mean it isn't working. Reading: It doesn't sound like it wasn't working to me. It sounds like anger was coming up, which is a sign of movement in my experience. As I've progressed the vast majority of my focus has been on continuing to practice while ignoring my emotions/objections, ESPECIALLY when it came to emotions that said 'STOP, THIS ISN'T WORKING' etc. For me, if it isn't working, then why am I so angry and want to stop so much? As if my mind/body were attempting to keep the equilibrium of my current state, which I was trying to change. I largely think this is true(that part of you attempts to maintain equilibrium), and as you approach any movement forward, you will encounter resistance in one shape or another. Whether it is internal thinking, emotions of fear/anger/other, etc. Your job, is to continue to practice. Take that stuff as information, not TRUTH. Make decisions and come to conclusions from as much clarity as you can... and ultimately your mind is biased. A part of you wants to keep things the same and safe. This is important for your overall health... and not forever. Good luck! John
  14. Neidan vs Mantrayana

I think he means original chi, or the chi of creation.
  15. Neidan vs Mantrayana

In support of this, Wang li ping speaks to that there is pre-heaven chi all around us and it is very accessible using the yi/mind. John
  16. Potent Systems

    Very cool Tao Stillness.
  17. New Spring Forest Five Element DVD

Spring forests qigong is definitely purifying and cleansing, as well as building and strengthening. The first and third actions are purifying. It's built around the MCO. The 5 element is similar to zz, and focused on strengthening qi and doing that on specific channels. I don't have it, but Chunyi taught parts of it at a recent seminar. I thought it was great. John
  18. You can reach him at http://qigongamerica.com/ John
  19. It's is an empowerment, and it is something else. The lineage is contained within the empowerment, which I've heard Michael called 'Lighting the fire'. Michael is best to talk about it though. John
  20. True. I respect your different viewpoint.... and cheekily think it proves mine . Ultimately, my point is that everyone has different destiny, thus a different master. What is true and best for them, is not true and best for you. John
  21. Everyone is a 'true' teacher. It depends upon whether the teacher lines up with what you are looking for. 'True' for one is false for another. Pick wisely though, as you will move toward what your teacher is. John
  22. Unexpected Tools for Cultivation

Yoga/stretching Gua sha tools for getting into body tissue and and just doing an over all brushing/rubbing/working.
  23. Magus of Java Teachings Revealed

Unfortunately, only John Chang and students of the Mo pai lineage would know those answers. The school, as far as I know, is closed to westerners. John
  24. Yan Xin's Free Energy Secret

Cool... looks great. Thanks Ralis and Synchronic. Yan Xin is an impressive master... and it's unfortunate he's been forced into hiding? ... not sure where he is.
