  1. The term hunyuan qi is used frequently in the martial art of Yi Quan, Though the meaning is more of a whole body power or a one all purpose type energy, that is mostly developed through the practice of zhan zhuang. I only watched the intro to the video, this looks like great video, I definently want to watch the rest.

  2. As far as, body types; It was the novelty of a beautiful chinese woman over 6ft tall that got me to take a good hard look at Chen Taiji. Granted, it probally had more to do with my lustful nature, more so than my eye for martial talent. And I'm sure in the right hands all styles of taiji are very powerful. I could see the power in Chen Huxian's movements, that somehow eluded my eye while seeing other taji demonstrations. Go figure.

  3. This is why I really like Chen Style, very powerful. I dabbled in Yang Style, years ago, and the so called "Enlightment Tai Chi" that's so popular today, but just did'nt get that much out of either. It's just kind of awe inspiring to watch women and even children demonstrate such power.

  4. The greatest thing going in Chen Family Tai Chi today is; "Master Chen Huixian". Beauty deadliness and grace, all wrapped up in the body of 6ft tall chinese woman. I had never really had alot of interest in any tai chi, until I saw this woman. But I'm definately hooked. My links never seem to work, so I would say google her name or check out some of videos on you tube, or check out her facebook page. I'm sure you will enjoy.

  5. I've never met anyone with any sort of powers who had anything bad to say about them. It's only people without power who say power is evil or pointless or whatever. It's the story of the sour grapes. Those who can't jump high enough to reach the grapes conclude that they must be sour...

    I totally agree!

  6. Matter can not be created. everything is matter or depends on matter.

Everything is limited and limited things can not create themselves or anything else.

Matter cant create its self or anything else. Create means to come in to existance from nothing at all.

So how did everything come in to existance?

There must be only ONE unlimited thing that is unlike everything else that which are limited to create the matter to begin with.

Limited = anything with a beginning, an end, a height, shape, width, weight or can be measured in anyway or depends on anything else.

Unlimited = without even one of the qualities of limited.

Create = to come from nothing.

God is unlimited, Tao is a description that can not describe God but is sometimes used to but always misses the mark.

God is singular, and not an idol made of matter , nor a human made of matter which are limited.

have a look at previous posts on limitless and can anything create its self or anything else.

Then who or what created God?

  7. The Iron Ring must be a very secretive weapon of kung fu. I have not even been able to find any videos of people performing the weapon. All I have found are some old magazone articles from IKF dating back to the eighties. Shen Martial Arts is the only company, I can find that sells an iron ring. and at 12" in diameter, its probally to smallfor what I'm looking for. Then there's going to be the problem of finding some one to teach me the iron ring. At this point, I'm thinking maybe I should go with a Meteor Hammer as a weapon of choice. Thanks for the imput.

  8. Actually, I'm going for the look the Metal Roo had in the movie "Warriors of Virtue" Now that was one cool dude!

The picture above got me thinking; Hsing Yi and Hung Gar, Wow! that could be a very potent combination of kung fu styles. The raw external power of Hung Gar combined with the internal force of Hsing Yi. That could potentially create a very powerful fighter.

  9. Maybe not a question aappropriate for this board: but, since there are some martial artist here, and this is the only one, I participate on. I thought some one might know. Where can I buy the "large iron rings" which are used as weapons in some ma styles, not the smaller ones worn around the arms by Hung Gar stylists and others. Most ma supply companys I looked at, don't carry them.

  10. thank you, haha. Shoulda tried that... have you found color images of each of the respective immortals? About taoist statues in the usa, or at least deity cards?

    Just wondering. :)

Like yourself, I am a fan of the Eight Drunken Immortals. There was a tv show about the Eight Immoortals, several years ago. In Hong Kong, I believe. Any way you can find trailers about the show at Youtube. Hopefully some one will download the entire seris in the near future. I would give you the link, but my links never work. <_<

  11. i ordered this book recently, should be getting it in the mail any day now:

Jade Woman QiGong - The Healing Power of Taoist Medicine for Every Woman

i was wondering if anyone had read it, or better yet, if anyone had studied at the Ling Gui School of Qigong? any thoughts?

and if anyone has other books or teachers to recommend that have programs or practices that are women-specific, be it qigong, neigong or taoist alchemy, do let me know. there is a lot of talk on these forums about the benefits of finding a teacher, a master, and i would love to one day become someone's student. that path is still kind of blurry to me..

I have heard several of my female friends rave about Sarina Stone at www.taolady.com .
